Re: Stadium parking deck

I still question what this is doing to the game day atmosphere. I understand you cant let 6 Saturdays per year limit progress, but tailgating, and the overall atmosphere does bring a lot of people to App. Even though we are netting more spaces, who wants to tailgate inside a parking deck? It is hot...

Re: Stadium parking deck

So now Men's Tennis, ID Track, OD Track and Women's Tennis, OD Track, ID Track are all homeless. How much longer until we add Softball to that list. And no the courts on Rivers street won't work for matches due to cracks in them. They are all going to old HS property, including softball. The M & W ...

Re: 2019-2020 Schedule Question

DG knows that this hire appsolutely has to be a home run. NEVER in the exactly 100 year history of App State MBB have the Apps and their fans suffered through eight (8) consecutive losing seasons...err...ugh...EXCEPT...for the last eight seasons...seasons #93 through #100. How can students, fans an...

Re: THE MEMPHIS COMMERCIAL APPEAL:

I think DG is smart enough to know he don’t have to jump at the first opportunity. He can be patient and in a few years, or sooner depending on how his new hires pan out, get a much better job for more $$ than Memphis offers Are we certain he hasn't already made an effort at jumping? I mean what if...

Doug Gillin is not a candidate for the Memphis job. I have very good sources on that subject.
Media reports from out of Memphis seem to bear that out.

Prayers for Sun Belt Friends in TS Barry's Path

Godspeed to our friends at Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Central Arkansas (MSOC), Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State as TS Barry drops 15-24+ inches of rain as it moves inland and due north.

Re: North End Zone Construction

Just imagine where we could be on this project if admin had actually had everything together and started the construction "right after the last home game" instead of having to wait until February-ish. The state requires a certain percentage of the funding to be in-hand before many wheels can be put...

Re,: 2019-2020 Schedule Question

If we somehow survive a roady to Michigan to open the season, I understand that we have both EZU and UNC-Concord coming to HCC in the early season. That substantially beats last season's fare of Mars Hill, WSSU and Milligan. The trip to Freedom Hall could get messy. Steve Forbes has his usual and cu...

Re: Buyout for DG?

Have to be a big $ offer to entice me to live in Memphis. Not a nice city and highest crime rate in the state. salary increase Generally I agree with you, but he would live in Germantown which is very nice, and just work in the cesspool that is the rest of Memphis. It is quite doable. Their current...

Re: ‘19 CONCACAF Fold Cup Final: USA v Mexico

Away all day and half the night with a family event. Got the match on the ol' digital rec. It seems to have recorded a game played south of border. We've moved Soldier Field across the Rio Grande apparently. We'd have had a happier outcome if a couple of those close first period shots had found the ...

'19 Women's World Cup Final: USA v. The Netherlands 11 AM FOX

It's the wannabe three-in-a-row World Cup Champs (USA...going for their fourth overall) versus the reigning European Champions (Netherlands) who've never won a Word Cup title. Two well-tested, well-coached teams--each with a roster of heralded, world-class athletes unaccustomed to losing. Each "carr...

Re: '19 Men's CONCACAF Gold Cup Semis: Mexico v. Haiti 10:30 PM FS1

Chuck: You might want to look at the replay of the foul that led to the penalty kick. It was difficult to see in full speed but clearly a foul. Thanks, Charlie. I've watched it over and over, but... I have a progressive and incurable visual impairment. I've completely lost the vision in one eye and...
