Re: Oklahoma and Texas to SEC???
I would love if this somehow led to App being in a conference with Marshall/ODU/UNC Charlotte/Coastal/GaSouthern. C-USA has 14 teams though, I'd prefer to keep our conference membership at 10 if possible to maximize OOC games and keep the slices of the pie bigger. Seems like a realignment with them ...

Re: What are possible home on home series?
We should have homes-and-homes with Wake and ECU in perpetuity. At least one game every few years. Other's I'd like to see: 1. Duke 2. Navy 3. Memphis 4. Vandy 5. Any of the Florida G5s. UCF, USF, FAU, FIU. Ponce thrives recruiting in Florida and we can build some important pipelines there while he'...

Re: Whatever happened to Saturday College Football
Knowing what I know about how Black Saturday atmosphere is in Boone, we beat Georgia Southern in 2019 if that game is played on a Saturday at 3:30. Perhaps, the but the (diminished) crowd was electric that night anyway. IMO the loss had more to do with the weather than the crowd. So many dropped pa...

Re: 12 team playoff? Plan for all conference champs to be in
It'll still be a herculean feat for App to make the playoff. Here's how a 12 team playoff (with 6 autobids and 6 at large) would have looked in 2020: Auto-bids: 1. Alabama (SEC) 2. Clemson (ACC) 3. Oklahoma (Big XII) 4. Ohio State (Big 10) 5. Oregon (Pac 12) 6. Cincinnati (AAC) At-large 7. Notre Dam...

Re: Should be new Yosef/App logo
Mountaineer Mania Yosef should definitely become an alternate. It was THE Yosef for a generation of App students in the 80s. I don't see a need to replace Victory Yosef, but this Yosef could definitely supplement it. Most schools have plenty of throwback logos they embrace, but our university's lice...

Re: Article: App State Twitter Divide
There is an assumption in this thread that Neer Twitter is somehow to blame for our donation woes. Some thoughts: 1. Neer Twitter isn't the reason the Yosef Club is underfunded. Most of them seem to be current students or very recent graduates. We've had decades before these kids were born to fully ...

Article: App State Twitter Divide
Here's an interesting article from The Appalachian on the "Two Twitters" of App State athletics. https://theappalachianonline.com/a-tale-of-two-twitters-a-generational-divide-among-app-state-sports-fans/ Since the Cabin is the primary gathering place for what the article calls "Boomer-'Neers" I thou...

Re: App State Logo Designs?
Mountaineer Mania Yosef is great and should absolutely be a tertiary logo used by the university. App State seems to be SUPER conservative with branding right now. They forbid any use of Gorton's Fisherman/Davy Jones Yosef, Flying Yosef, and others. Meanwhile, if you walk into UNC or Clemson's books...

Re: Herd game update - Thursday
mid-week games will attract new fans to attend a weekend game or two. They have a good enough time, they may become season ticket holders. If that has been our strategy for attracting new season ticket holders, it's no wonder we have so few. A much more likely path to growth is packing The Rock ful...

Re: Herd game update - Thursday
Most on the Cabin (and Twitter) are diehards who prioritize App Football over most else. For us, the "You have 6 months, just take PTO" argument works fine (assuming you have PTO to spare). But there's only a few thousand diehard App fans. And most of us are already giving/buying season tix. We'll n...

Re: New golf team hats
If there is one thing App Fans love most, it's sweet App gear. I've been saying for a while that Yosef Club membership should unlock access to limited edition team gear. Think thowback logos and premium branded stuff. You want to bring in the young crowd, offer them a chance at some cool stuff for t...

Re: What's next for stadium projects?
A NEZ connector concourse seems like the only "small potatoes" project left. After that, we could be looking at 10 years out for things like replacing the East or West stands. We've had some extreme wish fulfillment in the last year: track removal, NEZ facility, and re-grading the hill. I'm content ...

Re: Favorite Uni
The 2016-2019 uniforms were my favorite. The shoulder stripes gave a perfect pop of gold on the all-black and all-white uniforms.
The current uniform is missing that gold accent on the shoulders and pants, I wish they would change it back.

Not sure but i think the bookstore lost their, *ahem*, shirt on the last ones they did. Tried to sell the real thing and were over $150. They were on the rack for a couple years Yeah, I recall they sold "real" jerseys with the big shoulders + elastic designed for pads. Those aren't big sellers beca...

Re: NEZ work today
This is a very dumb idea. That is a large space and they visitors will have to run across our field for their entrance... Please don’t do this leadership. There simply isn't anywhere else for them to go. The current situation with visitors walking from the Quinn Center is Division-3 tier. Keeping t...

I believe they'll turn the current home locker room into the visitors locker room. Probably sterilize it a bit so it's not *too* comfortable for a visiting team.

Re: Armanti Jersey help?
Replica player jerseys have been –– and continue to be –– a huge miss for the university. In 2019, arguably our most successful season, no authentic jerseys were sold by the university. Read that again. The only Nike replica jersey you could get ANYWHERE was a #1 jersey sold on the Dick's Sporting G...

Love the gear. I wish we had an indoor ice rink in Boone they could play at. I would have loved going to hockey games as a student.
Gillin is a former collegiate hockey player... it would be awesome to have NCAA hockey in Boone someday. Would fit our image as a mountain school.

Re: CCU Fan Board
How dare a fanbase be confident in their successful team.... Coastal didn't choke to Georgia Southern so at this point, they deserve to be confident. I just wish they were this good in 2018-2019 instead of being a meaningless win for us from the national perspective. Would have been nice to have ano...
