Re: #iBackAPP Day

I am currently on the D.C. alumni group, but wanted to switch to Southwest VA chapter. How should I go about switching over? Just sign up for the Southwest VA chapter and then tell D.C. I have moved? Is there a SW Va. Chapter? There is, but the name is deceiving. It is based in Roanoke, which is ab...

Thank goodness for midweek games! I think this is our 5th midweek victory for a team with 7 wins.

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

I'm not sure we are in a position to buy anyone out regardless of the amount. I could see a 1 year extension in anticipation of a strong season in 18-19 and then consider a longer one.

App v USA

After last night's 9-1 loss, we now rank 296 out of 297 in batting average among all D1 schools. No doubt our youth shows through here. Coach Smith has proven he can build a program, I just worry that he will struggle to bring the talent necessary to make us competitive in this very strong baseball ...

Re: UTA fires MBB coach

Obviously different schools have different goals. Certainly seems pretty harsh. Of course, they were pre-season odds on favorites with a senior laden squad. I would guess they are in a serious rebuild mold.

Back in the 90s I used to bring my cross country teams to his camp. He's a great guy and a super coach.

Not a single freshman on the Kansas squad is likely going to the NBA. They have had players leave after one year but not sure they have ever had 4-5 potential one and doners.

Kermit Smith has a track record of success. We have to live with the faith that he can right the ship. But, let's not kid ourselves into thinking there are any guarantees playing in this very good baseball league.

Re: Series vs Georgia Southern Moved To The Stink

Prior to the GS series, out of 297 D1 baseball teams, we ranked 292 in batting average and 275 in scoring. Our biggest problem as inability to hit and score runs. And when, we get runners in scoring position, we can't bring them home. Our team ERA ranks 175, which relatively speaking, is much better.

Re: UNC FAN

As a young teenager with my transistor radio to ear I use to listen to the Ramblers on WMAQ out of Chicago. My Elmhurst relatives got me a Loyola sweatshirt. I've been on the bandwagon more than 50 years. Though I never say we in reference to LOC.

Re: Series vs Georgia Southern Moved To The Stink

We do have trouble scoring runs and especially struggle with runners in scoring position. We do rank at or near the bottom in most SBC stats. https://sunbeltsports_ftp.sidearmsports.com/custompages/bball_stats/2018/lgteams.htm Stats-wise we are similar to last season. Though this is a young squad so...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

I truly believe we will be as good as we were in '06-'07. That season, we easily defeated P5 schools (UVA, UCF, Vanderbilt, VCU)...still can't believe we lost to flipping Charleston. didn't we beat Wichita St and Arkansas that year too? We beat Wichita State on national TV as part of the Bracketbus...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

I believe Kinney will be difficult to replace. I've not seen anything from Seacat that makes me believe he has the offensive skills to do that. There is reason to be optimistic that we can improve on this season nonetheless. While we lose a couple of very valuable pieces, we have some real talent jo...

Apps load the bases in the 9th and fail to score. Texas State scores a run in the bottom of the 9th to win 3-2 on a bases loaded walk.

Well, we warmed up to 13% from 3. You have to believe if we hit 30% of those threes, we are in the game. Truly, live by the 3, die by it. Kinney went out with a great game, our only player who shot the ball with any consistency. Neal must wish he played us every time out.

We're shooting 29% for the game and 2-18 from three. You can't climb back in a game when you can't find the basket.
