Re: QB1 battle?
Objectivity is not in great supply on a message board. Two of the best QBs in school history played for Clark. To say that isn't an endorsement of his coaching tenure. It was time to turn the page but it's not like we had nothing but losing seasons under his leadership. Some of the more memorable wi...

Re: QB1 battle?
I know hindsight is 20/20 but, I could easily see in the first few series of Burger vs same for Aguilar that Joey was obviously better. Keep in mind it was against inferior competition, Gardner Webb, and anybody we believed would have been the starter (and 1st or 2nd backup) should have been able t...

Re: QB1 battle?
If he got Lamb and Thomas, that was pretty good he left and we had the Brice years. Burger was supposedly destined to be the four year starter. He was a 3 star recruit. It did not work out. If he starts for the full season at liberty, we will get to truly see his value, whether good, bad or indiffe...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
I know what coaches do in general and I know that support staffs and coaching staffs aren't the same everywhere. Many schools have just 4 women's basketball coaches, instead of 6. If each of the 6 are so crucial then why do many schools have less? Just because App does it one way does not make it t...

Re: App State hires new assistant GM
I am not the one who complained. I have been the one asking others for ideas. A lot of tough decisions are going to be made. I don't want to violate Title IX but I am wondering if schools would have football separate from the school and just be sponsored so those scholarships don't count or if scho...

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt
With 40,000 students Texas State has a lot of potential to tap. I think it's a no brainer for them. They have very good facilities and an overall solid athletic program and the football program seems headed in the right direction.

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
There are a lot more people who care & complain when a sport is cut than people who care about supporting the sport when it’s active. That statement isn’t to talk down on anyone but I haven’t seen many people advocating for financially supporting the golf program in the past. If you want to make a ...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
The close of this season really put a dent in what seemed to be real progress in our baseball program over the last several years. Of course, a big part of that decline was the opposition we faced down the stretch. Over the last five years, we are 66-73 in Belt play, with an average finish right sma...

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt
Earlier this week, the NCAA turned down Sac State's waiver petition to join FBS without a conference affiliation. They lawyered up immediately and the NCAA hasn't fared too well lately where trade practices are concerned. I would be shocked if Sac St. is not playing FBS football in 2026. They did g...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
My guess is that LSU's baseball NIL dwarfs what App's football NIL has. Clearly, LSU was the best team and most deserving of the title. One thing Coastal did that LSU failed to do was win a game at Auburn.

Re: Preseason Projections
As far as coaches go, ours has nowhere to go but up according to those rankings. Someone has to be at the bottom just like someone has to be at the top. Given that he's never been a head coach, its not an unfair assessment at this point in time. He obviously will have an opportunity to change that ...

Re: Preseason Projections
These preseason rankings mean absolutely zero to me. We have a new coach and many new players. It's like a box of chocolates...you never know what you are gonna get. I am excited about the new coaching staff. Will it take time for everyone to learn new coach expectations, systems, tweaks? You betch...
