Since the baseball team has a mega thread for their season, I thought we should start one for the softball team.

I know we lost twice today, but when is the last time our softball team started the season 8-5? Go ladies!!
I believe we started the season 9-3 last year.

Re: Buckle up. Knuckle up.

It just seems whenever we look like we have turned the corner, we lay an egg. Giving credit where it is due, USA is beginning to look like the team they were projected to be.

Bullpen gave up 4 runs in the last 4 innings. Can't have someone come in, face three batters and walk all three.

Re: At our hated rivals....

I really thought LR was the class of the league and had the regular season all but wrapped up. Their final game of the season is at Ga State. Could be for the regular season crown. Great bounce back for our guys today. Truthfully, our fate is in our own hands as T-Dog said, we have four winnable gam...

Re: 2020 Baseball Mega Thread

Apps up 4-3 going into the B8. With men on 1st and 2nd and one out, Drumheller hits ball to right center scoring the runner from second. The runner on first tried to score and was out by three feet. Next batter flies out to deep right. Would have been the second out of the inning and the runner woul...

Re: 2/13 - MBB @ Georgia State | HUUUGE GAME

Our 3 point defense must be awful! How many teams shoot over 50% from three??!!?!!?? Seems like every team we play, does! On the positive side Kendall Lewis might be as good as we’ve ever had at his size (time will tell). Lewis, jr looks good too. If Gregory will develop then we may be slightly bet...

Re: Finish Strong 2 seed possible

If he gets a top 4 seed he should by COY. The "homer" in me agrees but Arkansas Little Rock won only 10 games last season and was picked near the bottom of the conference. I would say their coach has a pretty valid claim to the COY also. They also finished below us in the standings last season.

Re: Charlotte Invitational

Looks as if the softball team had a pretty good weekend at the Charlotte Invitational. They went 2-2, but let the second game against UVa get away from them. It's a promising start coming off the success of last season. The one downside to the start is the performance of All Sun Belt pitcher Kenzie...

Another big weekend upcoming versus GA teams. Need to go 1-1 to be in the driver seat for a tourney bye.
Is the format the same as last year where

5-6 seeds get single bye
4-5 seed double bye and
1-2 seed triple byes?
I believe so.

Re: Finish Strong 2 seed possible

A 2-4 seed is needed in the Obscure Sun Belt Tourney Format. Win the next 2 at home and that becomes a real possibility. Georgia State currently in 2nd has a crazy tough final 4 game stretch. This is the first time in a long time that we have a good shot at the NCAA tourney. Hopefully we can get th...

Re: An Interesting Take on 2020

The idea and some value for returning productivity is interesting. However is 70% returning from a13-1 team better or worse than 90% from a 5-7 team? And what is the relative new value of the players that will fill in the lost production? Are you replacing it with less, equal or better talent? Look...

Re: An Interesting Take on 2020

Actually that’s what Bill Connolly has done for years, to make stats that are more predictive than the traditional stats. He fully acknowledges that some are better than others. Certainly Phil Steele uses returning production numbers as well. I agree with Hap and East that in our unique situation o...

The challenge will be next year as we lose 3 starters. We saw how we struggled without Johnson and Williams during that stretch of losses.

Re: An Interesting Take on 2020

They are not necessarily predictive but they do speak of team's level of experience which is not worthless. However, while a team can be losing a number of starters it doesn't speak of the depth at those positions. The way we rotate on D, hopefully, mitigates the loss of so many starters. Though, it...

I created one midway through the 2nd half. But it’s weird there was a thread about this game and not ours.

This whole board needs to do better with basketball.
You do know this was a game from last night not in competition with our game.
