Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Harcum going to Murray State? That makes absolutely zero sense unless he's simply getting a paycheck. If some of our players transferred to get 3 more minutes a game screw them. Murray State is a way better program than ours. They’ve made it to the second round of the tourney 4x since 2010. We’ve b...

Re: Hold on to your hats ….
From what I've been reading, it seems there is more good than bad with Everts tenure at App. If after 10 years, you can say that you left a place better off than when you arrived, that absolutely is a success. Not sure why, other than not being as active as Peacock (which is tough to follow), so ma...

Interesting view from someone who has insight into Everts' role in the Sun Belt:

Re: Hold on to your hats ….
It seems that it was time to go and many had turned against for a number reasons. But, it should be noted that during her tenure the university experienced incredible growth in both infrastructure, financial strength, and student demographics. One simply needs to look at the West campus for the chan...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
It’s not that I didn’ like it, the logic is strange. Nope not really. Most coaches usually use them as a low risk sandbox to give younger guys more seasoning. If you never play the young guys, you’ll never know what to expect from them when the pressure is on. You don't see that much at APP. Correc...

That's at least three that have left the program not counting the recent decommitment.

Re: App State Golf
The Spring is a tough time for App sports. Women's Tennis is the only team in the top half of the conference standings and they are 7th. Baseball is 9th and softball is 11th out of 12 teams.

Re: Hold on to your hats ….
App. St. can have both ..focus on academics and athletics. Whether people like it or not, App..St. would not had the growth etc. and potentially not in SBC without focusing on Athletics or providing an environment to succeed in athletics. Some may disagree..and that is fine. I want someone that emb...

Should be an excellent crowd today. Best weather day of the year?
Bark at the park!
I didn’t know we have a vet tech degree, that’s pretty cool!

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Am I the only one that isn't going to pull for players when they leave App? I'm not rooting against them, but I don't feel any lingering ties to a player that transfer. I'll caveat that with the exception of grad transfers. Exactly. Even the caveat. After Donavan Gregory raised the bar for loyalty…...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
We are talking about amateur athletes getting paid $25-$100k (on top of a $25k scholarship and $6k stipend annually) to play in front of maybe 5k people and on ESPN+ with less than 30k viewers. I recommend reading that sentence out loud to realize how crazy and unsustainable this is for anyone outs...

I read a 247 article that says the median basketball NIL spending for 2024-25 will be $1.5m per team.

Re: Buy or sell? 80 team premier league
https://www.collegefootballdawgs.com/post/a-look-into-this-potential-80-team-college-football-super-league Includes all “P5” teams, with ND and newly added SMU to round out 7 divisions of 10 teams. The 8th division would be the top 10 G5 programs who could be relegated each season. Non-football spo...

Re: Waiting for Totality here in Indy.
Took the day off. Sure as heck didn't want to be out on the roads downtown this afternoon. got my 8-) ready. Saw the big watch party at IU on TV this afternoon. The crowd in the stadium erupted when things went completely black. We were at 80% here but really didn't matter because it was really clo...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
I think we should move them there Play games there most of the time. Hickory has the ability to get on board to support baseball with 4000 people. Boone does not. I guess, the games then aren't for the students to attend. I doubt we would be able to play rent free in Hickory. I'm three hours away, ...
