Re: New Head Coach - Eliah Drinkwitz

For those that thought Ledford was the first choice, we just hired his boss. WOW! Sorry all, I have been driving all day getting to New Orleans and just now getting caught up on my reading. This is a great post Saint3333 and thanks for pointing out the obvious here. My head has been spinning too mu...

Re: Evan Conley to visit Louisville

Drink has coached Ryan Finley and was a QA coach with Cam Newton during the Championship run.... Satt's worked with who... Taylor Lamb? With Jackson from UCLA coming in, I'm way more comfortable with our QB situation. Jackson was a walk-on, 6th string QB at UCLA? Baker Mayfield was a walk-on but an...

Re: Ledford

I honestly think it is going to be Horton ... Would be a horrendous hire. Honestly, all the remaining candidates we know of are pretty underwhelming. Ivey, Horton, Woody... none of those really excite me. I really hope there's something to the Josh Gattis rumors. And to clarify, Woody wouldn't be a...

Re: Josh Gattis

Ledford might have eventually been the guy but we weren't close to making a decision this weekend. And we knew from the beginning that Satt was after him as well. His decision to go to Louisville wasn't Satt stealing our next head coach as much as eliminating him as a possibility.

Why is Auburn going outside the program for OC? Bothers me a bit with Horton right there.
I think Horton is more interested in this job.

It appears he's the only G5 rep on the team.
There's a Troy LB but that's it.
I missed that.

Not much here, but come on. I would be very disappointed if we went with Speir at WCU. I know he is from app but still.
Of course, that doesn't mean he couldn't be targeted for some other staff position.

Enough. It wasn’t just about money. I know you aren't saying it's all about money...but even if it was - who cares? Do any of you realize what Scott just did for his family? Paid for all three of his kids colleges, paid for his daughter's wedding, never has to worry about paying a mortgage again if...

When three teams make up 60% of the teams who have ever made the final four, interest may indeed wane.

Re: Satt Deal

If he takes Brown and Ivey after the bowl then we may have a down year next year. I was thinking if we could get by losing Satt and keeping the defense in tact we might be okay. However now I am starting to get a little concerned and especially since he is calling our commits. In his presser, Scott...

He did not specifically say Brown was coming. His name was mentioned twice and that might indicate he's going but Woody's name was mentioned as well.

Re: Sour Grapes From Statesboro

This is only my second post -- came to offer some friendly insights on the coaching carousel on another thread, but this one looks like a topic I can't refuse . . . I think the problem with awards like this is that they are poorly defined: What does the "Coach of the Year" represent, and what shoul...

Re: Great Article on replacement options

I want someone who has been a successful coordinator at a high-level G5 or P5, or a successful head coach… I would prefer to not hire someone who has only ever been a position coach, assistant head coach ( which is a title most schools use as an excuse to give assistants a big raise) or a recruitin...
