Re: Georgia State 2/21 Gamethread

We're now back in last place. This team plays better than a last place team for 35-37 minutes a game and then collapses. It would be understandable if this were a young squad but it's not. This is a veteran team. I believe in a tournament setting we would be dangerous but at this rate we won't make ...

Re: Georgia State 2/21 Gamethread

What's so frustrating is we hang in until late and then fall flat. Our last three possessions we lacked any sense of purpose. We come out of a time out and have to throw up a long shot to beat the clock. How many times does this story have to be written?

I always find it interesting how egos are tied to how well our football team performs on the field when we sit in the stands and watch.

Re: SB ITF championship

After 3 events on each side, the men are 5th and the women 6th. I don't keep up with T&F that much but it seems we tend to be stronger on day one, so this is not a great start. We are stronger in the distance events so there is that look forward to. We do have one champ so far in men's pole vault.

Re: At Tennessee this weekend

I'm not expert but I can read a box score. It says we scored no runs on 9 hits in 3 games. Enlighten me on what I don't know and explain how Kermit Smith will be the best coach ever at App. I'm hopeful that UT is a top flight SEC team this year after failing to make the conference tournament the las...

Former App now a Cougar

Anyone catch this former App on the court for Houston today. He was 0-8 from the floor in 8 minutes of play.

And, of course, former App assistant Kellen Sampson is working with his Dad.

We were one of worst hitting teams in the country last year. Hope this weekend isn't indicative of the season to come.

Apps trail 3-0 in bottom of the 7th. UT has men on 2nd and 3rd no one out.

Edit: Now 4-0

Re: Crazy Sun Belt Format

Among mid majors/one bid leagues you're likely to see more of these creative formats in an effort to protect regular season champs. It's fine for the ACC if the 5th place team wins the tourney because they'll send 8 to the Dance but anything less than the 1 or 2 seed from the Belt will garner a 16 s...

Re: Dear Coach Drinkwitz

Who is transferring? Other than Rubino. Is a Satt stealing him as a field goal kicker? Hopefully we can somehow find another guy who can kickoff to the 5 yard line. No offense to the young man but I think Satt just let him kickoff instead of demoralizing him 60% of his kickoffs were touchbacks and ...

Both GA State and GA Southern lost last night leaving the two Texas schools atop the standings. Arlington is playing the best ball in the Belt right now. This will be a challenge today to avoid the weekend sweep.

Strange how the Sun Belt works out its basketball schedules. We play the four teams farthest away from Boone (TSU, UTA, ULM, ULaLa) twice yet two of the three teams closest to Boone (GaSt, Stink) we only play once.
It rotates each year. That's just the way it fell this year.

Re: MBB: Apps v. TSU

Just took the best team in the conference to the final play on the road. 5 of the last 8 at home. There's a logjam at the top. We play Arlington next who's tied with Texas State and Georgia State for first. Not sure the Bobcats are the best but it doesn't get any easier. With the loss we drop back ...
