Re: Pro Day 3/28

Wall Street Journal article today about the 'non-traditional' sized players making an impact in the league with the increase in spread type offenses. Was obviously written for Kyler Murray but translates well for Duck. I don't know how to link or post it, i'm sure you guys can source it out though....

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Anyone have some salary range ideas of what we are looking to pay a new coach? What about Bryce Drew, he just got let go at Vandy - Lets aim higher than Lutz - I feel like there is a coaches son on a bench somewhere that might need a job, similar to Ryan Odom, he was in our backyard not to long ago...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Lutz would be a fine hire, but man the hyperbole surrounding him is laughable. He had good runs, the end of his tenure at UNCC leaves a lot to desire. Given what Gottfried has shown since he showed Lutz the door I’d give Lutz a fair amount of credit for NCSU. But outside of your familiarity with hi...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

I know nothing from nothing, but the on-air comments by Lutz don’t seem like the actions of someone who thinks he’s getting the job. Nor does it seem consistent with Gillin’s apparent preference for keeping the search process under wraps. Yeah, if Lutz was actually in strong consideration I bet Dou...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

T-Dog trust me it was not handled right by prior AD. Watch the Ga State hire not go well. Which will be good for App! Yeah they'll hire Lutz before Gillin does and we'll hire someone better. I don't want Lutz and you can't convince me otherwise, no matter how great a guy others say he is. Why are y...

Re: Fox fired

Can someone please tell me why people are so high on moton? He has decent records in a terrible conference. What am I missing? He’s had a couple great seasons, he has a career .576 winning percentage. I’m not trying to be a jerk I’m just curious I just think it’s pretty unfair to say “decent record...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

There's another NC coach in the MEAC that should get attention. Moton gets paid a lot . Jay Joyner has shown to be a heck of a coach, he's young and doesn't get paid like Moton currently. Strike while the iron is hot. This is why I don't see Moton being a serious candidate. He's being paid $250k an...

Re: Football team involved in St. Patrick’s Day fight?

The one dude with the red striped white shirt looks like was kicking someone who was down then connects with a solid right hand to someone who pushed him away. There were more punches thrown than what usually happens in these scuffles IMO Yeah that’s what happens in a fist fight. Looks like you are...

Re: Fox fired

I get nervous when we start talking about guys who don't have experience with Division One recruiting. That applies to rules, standards etc. Division 2 is a lot more loose with the rules to get guys and maybe I'm being overly paranoid but Capel had no experience and you saw where that got us. We ne...

Re: Fox fired

I might catch some (unwarranted) heat for this, but I would also welcome a solid female coach for our men's basketball team. Coach Elderkin turned the women's team around this season and has some fire in her that I think has energized that team a bit more going into the off-season. I would be inter...

I hope they lose in the first round the way their student celebrated on the field in 2007 will taint them forever for me.
That's why you root against their basketball team in a national tournament 10 years later? Makes perfect sense

Re: Fox fired

The meac is not a hotbed for coaches. Gonzo is right. I want a taskmaster as our next coach. I am so sick of hero ball with not hero ball players. I submit liberty. If we field a team that plays defense and runs and Efficient offense, Ala uva. We will dominate the sun belt

Re: North Carolina lawmakers seek to allow alcohol sales at college sporting events

The bottom line is nfl crowds bring a much different crowd than college crowds. I’ve never had problems at away college games. I have only been hassled wearing an away jersey at a pro game.

Re: Any thoughts on who the new head basketball coach might be bringing in as his assistants?

This team plays nothing like a Davidson team. This team played hero ball most of the season and Fox allowed it. That's the answer to whether we need a new coach or not. You can look around at good teams, Wofford, Belmont, Liberty and watch what good basketball coaches can do with decent talent. The ...
