Re: Robert Nunn
Nunn was the Head Coach when Dale Jones was DC at GMC in the early 90s. It would certainly be a major get.

Re: Nic !!!
Thought that meant you were dying...? But seriously, it doesn’t make sense that we can announce hires from outside weeks earlier than we could someone internally. He seems like a good guy with a resume of success at the HS ranks. Seems like a guy you would want recruiting for us. I don't think it's...

Re: Football Staff
We're not going to be poaching a bunch of rising-star assistants from successful FBS programs. We just don't have the money for it. Satt was surprisingly successful at getting guys to make lateral moves, but mostly we're going to be hiring either young guys very early in their careers or older "jou...

Re: New roster heights and weights
Hannon was listed as 6'2 260 last year and I'm pretty sure he didn't allow a sack all year. Davis-Gaither will be taking over Stringer's role, and he was listed at 208 last year and nobody seemed to have a problem with his size/performance.

Re: Grading Football Recruiting from past years
It’s almost impossible to grade in hindsight because how do you account for coaching changes, injuries, poor player development, and even good old fashioned bad luck? You’ll never convince me that Jimbo Fisher isn’t one of the five or ten best coaches in college football, a great recruiter, and grea...

I'd be surprised if Woody didn't offer Brown and Ivey spots on his staff at Georgia Tech.

Re: 3 new bowl games? Myrte Beach may be one.
The money is a myth argument at a certain point. This "everybody gets a ribbon".. sort of deal, just ruins what should be a reward for teams with a strong winning record. I'm sorry, I'm just old school on this. I used to feel this way, then I realized two things. First, a 6-6 Big Ten team would get...

Re: Fox extended to 2021
Expecting 20 wins from our basketball program is laughable. In 46 seasons in the SoCon and Sun Belt we reached 20 wins exactly 8 times. Buzz did it four times, Cremins did it twice, and once each for Fancher and Apke. Until we actually decide to invest in and support the program as a fan base, we sh...

From the App Band FB page: It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Dr. Kevin Richardson will be leaving Appalachian State University. Over the past 6 years, Dr. Richardson has fostered a thriving marching band program and exceptional symphony band. We would like to thank Dr. Richardson and h...

If we were not allowed to be critical or speak up, our football schedule would still contain teams like west carolina, Mercer, Samford, etc. and we would be playing with home crowds of around 15K. I have to echo Moose here. Who in the world is saying people can’t be critical? This is a message boar...

Usually means testing the waters. Going to see what they need to work on for their senior year. If you're not going in the first round your contract isn't guaranteed. So unless he wants to go play in the G league he'll go get some notes and come back to Boone. This. It's a smart move for any rising...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations
The amount of negativity in this thread is baffling. It's not like Jim Fox took a dumpster fire program at a school with no notable basketball tradition and just finished .500 in conference, won a game in the conference tournament, and had the best non-conference win in the entirety of the Sun Belt....

How can you give a guy with a 45-78 record an extension? The strong end of the season finish pushed back some termination talks on here, but you can't give an extension to someone that has nothing to show. Not giving him an extension is cutting off your nose to spite your face. We have already hear...

Re: Series vs Georgia Southern Moved To The Stink
Agreed, however, I see no improvement, only regression. We were more competitive early on than we are now, no doubt. Once again, it is what is is. I realize our team is young, but, I see no progression at all. If you do, please enlighten me. We are aware of your opinion, there is no need to hijack ...

Is there a single adult posting in this thread? Jesus Christ this is embarrassing to read. Then don't read it. Whether I read it or not isn’t going to make it less ridiculous. It was a tactless post but altogether harmless. The fake outrage that followed, however, was childish and embarrassing. And...

Re: SI Loves Them Some App State
Obviously our win at Michigan was and probably still is the biggest upset in college football history. Who would be second? In my mind in order for a game to come under this consideration the big opponent would have to finish the year either highly ranked or still win a bowl game. If memory serves ...

It’s become very fun to follow App basketball on the board here. Every game day is guaranteed to produce a positive result. Either App wins the game, or they lose and you get to watch the meltdown that’s guaranteed to follow. It’s win-win.

Yo I already feel for Zac Thomas That dude is most likely going to have a superb season in 2018 for us, but every time he makes the smallest mistake people are gonna be clamoring for Brown because he's "big." So basically I expect him to get the Taylor Lamb treatment lol. Where he'll play great and...
