Re: My radio show’s upset picks challenge
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing. Last year 85 points won the whole thing...which was the most total points a winner has ever had...so far through 6 weeks (actually 7 including the week 0 games which we broke out to their own week) the winner already has 62 points. He's hit 6 out of 7 times. I c...

My radio show’s upset picks challenge
I should’ve posted this here 6 weeks ago (apologies) but I wanted to invite all of you to get into a weekly challenge we do on my radio show down in Greenville, SC. It’s a challenge where you try to pick outright upsets. We do it every week starting on Wednesdays at 4, and it runs through Friday at ...

Re: Oreg St at 3:30pm - Discussion
TLDR, sorry if someone already posted this but what TF are we doing handing out rally towels and doing “Sandstorm”? Towels are a fine giveaway, but come on…are we really ripping off USC’s best known tradition? Small minds came up with that one.

ISO Oregon St parking pass
I already have my tickets, I just need a parking pass, preferably somewhere I can tailgate. I know it’s a long shot but thought I’d ask.
If you have one send me a PM or reply and I’ll PM you. Thanks.

Re: Does culture matter anymore?
We used to have a cultural identity. In the aftermath of NIL it seems to have been sucked down the drain. We fired the most loyal person our program has ever known and replaced him with a guy who has never seen, let alone played in a game versus one of our rivals. I sincerely wish DL success. I am ...

Re: AP voter doubles down
AP voters need to submit their ballots and an editor ask “are you sure” before publishing. If they can make a case for why, fine that’s their opinion, but when it’s clear and obvious oversight the entire poll takes a public perception hit.

Re: AP voter doubles down
There’s no need to use AI, it’s just a spreadsheet. IE, the BCS model.

Re: AP voter doubles down
I think there's a place for both computer rankings and human voters. Polls have their flaws, but I don't think one voter making a dumb oversight in week 2 completely invalidates the whole concept. Also, AI still makes a lot of basic mistakes, computer rankings are only as good as the humans who des...

Re: AP voter doubles down
And I’ve been having the debate with my cohost the last few days about what we value. I’ve pushed the S&P+ ratings system because it’s data driven and takes your opponent (including what you should do against them) into account, yet he keeps saying he values the polls more the data. How can you valu...

AP voter doubles down
In case you haven't been following this story... Southern California based AP voter Haley Sawyer is catching a LOT of flack for moving Florida up and South Florida down after the Bulls beat the Gators Saturday. She then took to video and essentially laughed it off saying "it probably doesn't matter"...

Re: ULM to FCS???
If this comes to fruition, the big problem is it puts the SB back at 13 members. ULM pushed to add LT. We could’ve dropped to 12 and stood firm for a while but in the future we would be forced to add again. WKU is the popular choice based on who’s been available but they’d like to stay tied to MTSU,...

ULM to FCS???
As reported by David Schultz of Locked on Sunbelt, ULM’s AD is stepping down and the school allegedly wants to cut their already league lowest $31m athletic budget by $5 to $9m (via Shane Mettlen, ODU reporter). They can’t compete in FBS at $12-15m. Recall that they also were the loudest voice spons...

Re: Sun Belt presidents to vote Monday on Louisiana Tech
If it’s about the fan experience we should add teams that are destinations not Ruston. What is it about the SB that is unappealing to the likes of Memphis, UAB, Tulane, etc?....Obviously the $$ is better with P4 conferences but the likelihood they get an offer to join is slim...Why stay with CUSA/A...

Re: Sun Belt presidents to vote Monday on Louisiana Tech
The west has their Coastal type school now. The west has their second ULL program at best. CCU is growing, LA Tech is stagnant. Couldn’t you argue Coastal has made its improvements at least partly because of being in the Sun Belt. Are we too naive to believe La Tech can’t improve by being in the Su...

Re: Sun Belt presidents to vote Monday on Louisiana Tech
Kinda lame. I think the sun belt could have done better. La tech has spent 30 years trying to torpedo ULM if the shoe was on the other foot there’s no way they’d support inviting UL or ULM they should have torpedoed this thing. Couple of things… 1. Different administrations, not the current one. Th...
