Re: FCS national championship
As long as we remain with peer institutions and not go back to playing a bunch of small privates, I wouldn't back off financially. I like the conference and level we currently compete at. Bowl vs Playoff and saying we are on par with the P4's... I mean, let's be honest, I don't give at a P4 level ei...

Re: FCS national championship
Why would I want to run my program through a playoff when most of my starters would sit out foe the transfer portal so they don't get injured before their next paycheck? If im a star player looking to move on for a bigger pay check why would I risk that injury? This is a professional league now. Yo...

Re: FCS national championship
It was an awesome game. Wouldn't want to go back, still pissed off they sent us down my sophomore year. If we have to, I'll still be a Mountaineer. Where are we now? I mean that rhetorically. But those prime time playoff games are 1000% times more fun than our who cares bowl. And now that we are so...

Re: We need a good offensive coordinator
To me it's just the commons sense that you need a guy in the booth calling the plays. You can't spot weakness from the sideline when you are also doing head coach duties. Having a Jr assistant up there isn't the same. Needs to be the guy with eyes on.

Re: FCS national championship
I was pulling for Montana State but really hated for either of those teams to lose. I'm glad we are where we are, but damn those were some good days.

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Some of yall are crazy. How can you question a coach’s talent evaluation when you look at results? App played literally the same team twice, once with starters and once with mostly 3-4th string guys. The starters lost by 2, the backups lost by 19. Wilson and a couple other players showed some flash...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
What are y'all talking about? You gotta take off the gold glasses for a second. Armanti DEVELOPED into a great passer. Look at his completion percentage rise throughout his 4 years. Look at the drop in interceptions. Look at the rise in attempts with that completion percentage. Armanti was not a gr...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Wilson was the first QB this season that was willing to lead. You get a guy who's willing to sacrifice his ego and his body to will the ball forward you better hang on to him. His passing wasn't that much worse than Armanti's tbh. He could be fun to watch.

Re: G6 playoff gaining momentum
I think we will see a limitation on the number of transfers allowed and some form of revenue sharing for the school that recruited and developed the player when they flip. With that, schools like App with strong ties to High School coaches, who can find that overlooked player and develop him, will b...

Re: Who’s going to Birmingham?
I’m disappointed in Kohl not finishing the season, if true. Agree. Not sure that helps ease some of the doubts about his level of competitiveness. Hopefully those doubts are wrong, but ducking a hit and diving short of the 1st down earlier in the season Along with this has definitely raised some qu...

https://twitter.com/vvinzetta/status/2001400606297038894?s=42 I also saw what Drink said about similar topic. The system is broken and not sustainable. It has to be fixed Want to transfer? You have to be bought out or the program you’re leaving has to be paid a fee. Soccer has been doing this since...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
There's nobody who even remotely follows college football that has expectations of seeing premier football in our bowl game or any of the bowl games. No idea why we concern ourselves with what someone else will think of us in the current environment. I'm going to go to Birmingham and enjoy pulling f...

Re: Who’s going to Birmingham?
Not even a pep band? Not even a pep band. I would be willing to chip in some money to get at least a pep band there... Anyone else? Is the decision from the Provost "we don't care" or "we are broke"? Would it been different had we been invited "initially" after finishing 6-6? If the band did what t...

Re: At ECU
I attended the game. The 'feel' in Minges was that App took control in the first 5 minutes and never relinquished it. ECU made a run start of the 2nd but App held them off and killed it out. The Pirate faithful got a little rowdy during their run but settled back down. We were the better team and it...

Re: Who’s going to Birmingham?
I bet you'll see more sandbagging discussions of how underwhelming both sides are than you will fist fights. Does anyone fight with fists anymore? Chest bumps 😂😂😂 There may have been more fights if this were the Bourbon Bowl. We played in the Water Bowl two years ago. I predict more snippy comments...

I'm in. Not sure how, but it's on. I will say Monday at 2 sounds more like a business meeting than a football game but if that's when they play, I'll take off my tie, pop open a drink and join in.

Re: Birmingham Bowl
The timing of the bowl games helps out, IMO. It's three weeks from today. Many Sun Belt bowl games are next week on weekdays as the CFB takes over Saturday. The biggest hurdles IMO are the logistics, such as making sure the players/staff is fed while the dining halls are closed. Yeah, Monday at 2 p...
