Re: UNCC Game Thread

My assessment....App State fans stood and yelled for the plays on the field. UNCC fans stood and yelled for the free T-shirts. Proud to be a Mountaineer. Kickoffs = free T-Shirts. So, they get at least one chance per game. Our fans showed up and made it a road game for their offense. Hennigan's Pun...

Re: UNCC Game Thread

We played very well but not perfect and that is a great thing. The guys played a very smooth game until there was no doubt left. 3 areas to improve: 1. Kickoff coverage 2. 3rd down defensive efficiency 3. Run blocking I would add a 4th> Tackling Tackling? We held their team to 200 yards of offense ...

Re: UNCC Game Thread

Passing Game has been amazing, but can you imaging this offense once the run game gets going for 4 quarters as well???? It'll be hard for anyone to stop. Besides that second half last week in Happy Valley, this run game has been MIA. Not sure if it’s Jalen or this O-Line Perhaps it's the schemes we...

Re: Tailgating at UNCC

I am planning to show up earlier than 2 PM. I doubt they will stop us to be honest. Don't be surprised if they do. I have a friend who went to the green/white Spring Game and rules were heavily enforced. Also, pay attention to which entry they tell you to use. They do not allow traffic directly aro...

Seems most are upper deck. I’m in 203 and hope there’s some App people around. And the view is somewhat decent.
There is no upper deck. The 200 sections are temporary bleachers on top of a concrete pad behind the "bowl" seating.

Re: Color Out

I know the first 1000 students at the gate receive a green t-shirt so I don't think they are trying to black out the game or anything. Exactly. App fans wearing gold plus their encouraged "green out" sure will look like a crowded green & gold stadium; it'll make great marketing pictures for UNCC in...

Re: No temp seats in 2018, band moved to East Side

I've never questioned DG in the past. Won't do it now. He knows what he's doing Don't want to sit on the hill because the view suck? Pay a little more for regular seats on the east or west side. That's like me sitting in coach and upset that I don't have the same luxury as someone in first class. Y...

For reference, the purple deck is a similar walk (distance wise), as the walk to Kidd Brewer is from the Library Deck. Perhaps a little bit farther.

Re: Brewer-Moore Stadium? What do you think?

Does Boone control the name to Stadium Drive? I assume so as it runs through not only through campus but residential areas as well That may not be a decision for the AD, at least not directly. I imagine it would have to be a meeting of the minds. You can name a portion of a street. It could be Jerr...

Re: Okay, now I’m jealous...or envious

We should have just had an off-site tailgate in Charlotte last weekend. Imagine what would have happened if 500 or 1,000 ASU fans would have taken over their stadium (which honestly would have doubled their attendance). It would have been viral and Sports Center worthy.

I was never a Heels fan. However, I grew up listening to Tarheel games on WBT in Charlotte. Woody was a pro and the voice of their fan base.

Re: Fan Involvment at Basketball Games

The Yosef Club area needs to go. Too close to the court during a game to socialize. They definitely deserve perks and I thank them for their support but that area is out of place during a game. Yup. I’ve never heard of another school doing this. It just looks awkward. Agreed. Is it really necessary...

It wasn't a bad survey. I think it's aimed at improving their social media and to give feedback to potential sponsors. Overall, I think the Belt is realistic about who they are and is also interested in improving it's product.

With the front page discontinued I didn't do the weekly column this year, but I can't resist taking a stab at a final ranking. Just one man's opinion, of course. 1. Central Florida (13-0, AAC Champions, beat Auburn in Peach Bowl) 2. Boise State (11-3, MWC Champions, beat Oregon in Las Vegas Bowl) 3...

For entertainment search #49erFestivus on Twitter. Hilarious airing of grievances with a fanbase who is truly fed up. If Judy has not stepped down by September, we can probably encourage their fanbase to have us fill their stadium with Black and Gold as part of their protest. They may sell us ticket...

We have have great support. If you have 25k in the stands what difference does it make as long as they bought a ticket. I guess he's assuming Yosef comes along with season tickets? I agree that season ticket sales do not directly equal disappointment. In addition to ESPN availability, you have a co...

Re: UNCC fires Price, Fancher interim coach

They are giving Judy a lot of heat. Students and the message board want her gone. Men's Soccer (twice) is the only sport to make the NCAA's in the last three years, although not this year. Price may have wanted out, or may not have wanted to be a part of a sinking ship. Judy will retire within a year.

The stats were on the ribbon boards on the floor opposite the teams benches. Not sure where else they are located. I sat across from the teams benches (section 4). There were no stats visible from where I sat. The ribbon board between the benches only show the ads. Again, while clarity of the video...

Re: Interesting Idea ---

You never know who will be a top ranked team due to schedules being put together so far in advance and it would likely take several stars aligning (ie. Go undefeated by beating 2 autonomous programs, beating 2 solid G5’s, winning the conference that hopefully ranks #1 or #2 amongst G’s and probably...
