Re: FCS national championship
Awesome game last night. Illinois State almost completed an incredible run from unseeded to champion. Probably should have left their offense on the field late in the 4th quarter.

Re: Portal time 25-26
First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to handle high altitudes and cardiac-inducing fourth quarters. To my family, thank you for your patience during the fall seasons, and for understanding why I am emotionally unavailable after a loss. To the concession staff at ...

It should be a team rule. If you can't break 60% with your way, you have to switch to Barry style.

Re: Portal time 25-26
Agents are going to agent. It earned him $500k. Sobering reality that fans making a fraction of the players are asked to fund it. There was a brief interview with Jay Williams (the former Duke Guard) last week. He said professional league agents (NBA) typically make a 4% commission. But, college ag...

Re: 1/3 - MBB at Marshall - 4pm
There are 365 D1 men’s basketball teams. We are ranked 363 in free throw percentage. I could go on a big rant about this but will just leave it at that. It is a trait that is clearly not prioritized in recruiting. Basketball rotations flip yearly. It could be a point of emphasis but isn’t. Haven’t ...

Re: We need a good offensive coordinator
I’m not sure I buy the idea that DL is a bad play caller. My issue is with our QB play. In my 25+ years watching App St football, that was the worst QB room we’ve had, relative to our competition. It was a huge red flag we didn’t have a starter named/known until the first snap of the season. For th...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
I’ll ask the same question, I asked weeks ago and never saw a decent response. Outside of DJ’s defense, where did we improve this year in season? What mistakes did we stop making? You can say we didn’t have the horses, but part of the job is development and improvement. This group was together cont...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
THIS year. Shawn Clark wouldn’t have had to rebuild, and App would’ve won maybe 2-3 more games. App admin rolled the dice that a new coach, after an adjustment period, could make App better. Think of it this way, if you were a Stink fan, would you be happy with the season that Georgia Southern had ...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
I see this year's bowl situation as different. We were not bowl eligible. Exit interviews occurred. Players that were considering leaving had probably made plans in terms getting prepared for next stop. I would be disappointed if we were bowl eligible and they exited stage left and elected to not p...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Wilson struggled with his passing, but you have to wonder if he had reps with the 1’s for the last few weeks, could a winning game plan have been put together. Good effort by the players who stayed. Glad DLo got another game to practice being a head coach. Still looking for that moment where he nail...

Or you go outside the box if you are DG, acknowledge that you are AAA (which is better than falling to AA) and ink the first farm team agreement with a big SEC school. That school provides you with backing, resources and assets (players/staff) which you develop for a year or two and feed back to th...

Re: Who’s going to Birmingham?
Agree. Not sure that helps ease some of the doubts about his level of competitiveness. Hopefully those doubts are wrong, but ducking a hit and diving short of the 1st down earlier in the season Along with this has definitely raised some questions about his “fire.” Would love to see him trot out the...

Re: Could ACC be snubbed and SBC get in CFP?
Until contracts tie students to a school for 2 or 4 years....nothing will be fixed. But, do all players get contracts? Walk-ons? Third-Stringers? Contracts will fix a lot of this, but there can still be end of the year issues. Also, contracts don't stop coaches from moving before the end of the sea...

Re: The J Cline Memorial Celebrity Obituaries
Greg probably did as much as any individual in the survival and recovery efforts. And, he did a tremendous job putting the word out of what kind of help was needed. Incredibly sad.
