Re: Crazy Sun Belt Format

Next season, the first three rounds of the tournament are at campus sites. Only the "Final Four" will be in NOLA, and it'll be at the NBA arena in downtown. Call me crazy but, I personally like this format. I like it as well. It rewards winning. it's not impossible for a team to go all the way thro...

Re: Dear Coach Drinkwitz

Who is transferring? Other than Rubino. Is a Satt stealing him as a field goal kicker? Hopefully we can somehow find another guy who can kickoff to the 5 yard line. No offense to the young man but I think Satt just let him kickoff instead of demoralizing him 60% of his kickoffs were touchbacks and ...

So, the Drink coaching tree has already expanded into the NFL and the PAC 12.

How do we teach our youth COMMITMENT when the adults who are their mentors don’t know how to honor their own COMMITMENT?
Unfortunately, in today's world, that ship has sailed. It's all about living in the moment. (Can't say I agree with it, but it's reality)

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

Not really much reason to move a 1000 yard rusher to WR considering the talent we bring back there. Evans is pretty similar to Nyheim Hines in terms of what he can do, and he played RB for Drink. While we are deep at RB, it is a position that tends to accumlulate injuries. Perhaps a normal game wou...

Re: Men's Basketball @ A-State

At least there is some fight left in this team. Last night they battled into overtime and didn't quit. It doesn't fix the problems (and a win would have really helped last night), but they kept battling. I do want this team to win, because losing sucks. There's no way that it's going to change DG's ...

Re: Men's Basketball @ A-State

Intersting that a men’s loss gets 43 replies while a women’s victory gets 4. Sad that the only decent basketball on campus doesn't get much love or fan support. Outside of Connecticut, Tennessee and a few other programs, I believe that is the status quo. Look at March Madness, Bracketology, etc.

Re: Another Top 25

Jalin's TD didn't cost us the game, poor kick coverage did. and not kicking it off through the end zone! The KO was seven yards deep in the end zone. The majority of those aren't returned. The KR danced and hesitated before deciding to bring it out. Our coverage guy missed a tackle that would have ...

Re: Basketball - Black and gold team....rest of the season.

It's really not a ridiculous idea. Dean Smith used to run a Blue and White Team in the 70's. Midway through the first half, all 5 starters would be subbed out and the reserves "Blue" would come in and play with energy for 2-4 minutes. Then, the starters would return and finish the half strong. What ...

You evaluate him , top to bottom. No better way to do that than live fire and the cost is zero. If he has it turned in the right direction including keeping our recruits, give him his shot. And oh yes , nothing on this earth is permanent. That's a good answer but I would still have a problem giving ...

Re: Drink on Mac Attack

Drink is going to bring us two things this year that we couldn't have under Satterfield: a Spring game and a P5 win. I agree and believe that in a couple years from now folks will realize Satt was real conservative. He will be considered a good coach that we appreciate but folks will finally acknow...

Re: Drink on Mac Attack

Agreed, like the stupid off-sides penalty when our guy took a step forward before dropping back when Wake was punting that gave them a first down which led to a touchdown if I recall correctly. I about lost my mind at that point. My wife had to calm me down since I sit up near the players’ parents ...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

5 hours... Are there issues finding the right fit? Having to go to backup choices? Slow HR? This has certainly been a “process” I’d be pretty surprised if the two unannounced aren’t already on campus and working with the staff. If they’re not, then my level of concern on Drinks contacts within the ...

Re: Another Sun Belt coach gone?

He just got to Texas State, right? Correct. Don't think he's even coached a game for them. The Kingsbury hire in itself is a head scratcher for me. They hired Kingsbury specifically to work with Josh Rosen. He's the "QB Whisperer". Apparently, this is more important to the Cardinals than X's and 0'...

Re: My Take On Others: Nobody saw this coming, and if they did they’re lying

It's funny how we flip back and forth on the timing depending on the perspective. The dates closer to the holidays are not desirable for fans who want to attend because of the conflict with family commitments. The earlier date is to far from the final poll vote. There will always be a down side. I ...
