Couldn’t be Happier for Ya’ll

When we ((Wyoming) came to Boone and played the Mountaineers three (?) years ago, we met some of the finest football fans and all around good folks you would ever hope to meet in your life. And none better than AppSt74! I couldn’t be more happy for all of you after ruining UNC’s “tuneup” game today....

Re: 67 Year Career To End: It's Vin Scully Weekend in LA

I grew up in Wyoming in the 60s. No professional baseball within 1000 miles. We received two tv channels and following my first year of little league, where I absolutely fell in love with baseball, I turned the tv on one afternoon in October and the Dodgers and Twins were playing in the World Series...

Where's Appalachian State??

Okay Mountaineers, I'm guessing the wounds are all scabbed over and the pain has subsided. It's time to get after those Zips. Zips? What the h*ll??? Anyway, I bought my $40 ASU sweatshirt in downtown Boone last year so when I'm walking through Home Depot seven times every weekend, folks here in Pike...

Its All About Preparation......

1. Add SECNetwork to my Xfinity programming........... Check 2. Make sure my APP State sweatshirt is clean ( I likely will wear this with a Wyoming cap if y'all don't mind)...........Check 3. Put in a request with "she who must be obeyed" for "football" food, suitable for eating off a TV tray..........

Lets Do This Thing!

Okay, AppNation, I've recently had the honor of breaking bread, sharing suds and watching a little Colorado Rockie baseball with one of your finest representatives and his wonderful family (you know I'm convinced that App74 is a direct descendent of Yosef). We discussed that Vegas has tagged the Mou...

Give Em' Hell Mountaineers!

Ya'll can count on me to be wearing my new. App State souvenir sweatshirt, sippin' a little bourbon and watching Stink take a beat down tonight.

Back from Appalachia!

Returned home last night from a fantastic eight-day trip to Tennessee and the mountains of North Carolina. I can tell you straight out that the geography books that I learned from growing up in Wyoming didn't prepare me for the beautiful countryside we experienced throughout our trip. Even Hurricane...

Re: APP STATE / WYOMING WX TRENDS #3 THURSDAY

WXAPP, you're a stone cold stud with your weather forecasts! Not that I have any options....I'm in Nashville and I'm headed to Boone tomorrow morning, but it's good to have a local, reliable weather source, so I know whether or not to wear rubber socks! Yhanks for the info!

Re: Billboard

Riding a "bull"?????? Come on Appfanjj?!?! That cowboy (with hat, not lasso in hand) is riding Pro Rodeo Hall of fame bucking horse, "Steamboat", one of the finest bucking horses of all time. Steamboat was raised on the Tyrrell Ranch, just outside of Chugwater, Wyoming. The bucking horse and rider w...

Re: Looking at Wyoming

With respect, a correction to your post Moehler, The Pokes lost their number 2 running back, not number 1. Shawn Wick is out with a concussion, the kid had a chance to become the all-time rushing leader at Wyoming when the season started, but really hasn't done much, and now is out with a concussion...

Congrats to the Mountaineers!,

Looks like it was a good ol' mountain butt whuppin ASU put on ODU today. Unfortunately, I sat through another dumpster fire in Laramie. This rebuilding thing is taking all the patience I've got. The Pokes are very young and very undersized at many positions. To their credit they're Wyoming Tough and...

Re: Comin' to Appalachia!!

Good stuff Mountaineers! Thank you very much. Given the many opinions and advice, we have shortened our stay in the Gatlinburg area to one day. We've got a cabin rented in Pigeon Forge for Sunday and Monday nights. Sunday will be spent traveling to Ashville (via the Blue Ridge Parkway) and then thru...

Re: Comin' to Appalachia!!

Wow, can't thank you enough for all the good advice. Seems Like I should have made our Boone stay a day or two (or at least a half-dozen meals) longer! Can't wait to come.

Re: Comin' to Appalachia!!

Special thanks to EAstHallApp, ProASU89 (good link by the way), MtnDevil95, boonetown1 and appbio91 for all the good information. With your suggestions, I'm sure my wife and I will be able to spend our Saturday morning time well. A couple of you mentioned the Lost Province Brewing Co. The UW Alumni ...

Comin' to Appalachia!!

Howdy Mountaineers! As a Wyoming Cowboy fan for the past 50 years, I've had the opportunity to visit some special places, but I'm excited to say that my wife and I will be visiting your beautiful part of the country for the first time. In fact, we've elected to make a week long vacation of it, start...
