2019 team also had better coaching.
Although Drink did love to coast with a lead.

Re: It's Bur....Joey Time! - GW discussion
Just once i want to see a Coach Clark led team come out hungry, stay hungry and finish hungry.
At this point sluggish starts are a Coach Clark trademark.
I realize it's tough with college kids, but i can't remember the last time App played a truly complete game.

Re: Game week in Boca
Clark hire was a panic move. Hiring the guy “all the players want” rarely works out long term. Wish we would have kept bringing in power 5 mindsets and pedigree. Not sure if we’ll have that chance again any time soon. Lose the next three games in a similar fashion and oof… Dude really? Come on with...

Re: Why
Clark is a solid coach.
But three or four losses a season seems about right for him.

To clarify, Chase isn't egregiously killing them, I just expected/hoped for more.
Here's his chance...

Re: 2021 depth
general question: has App ever had anyone who at some point was considered one of the top recruits in the country? I think 247 had him as the 14th best QB in the country coming out of high school. I know high school rankings don't mean a whole lot, especially for him at this point in his career, jus...

You can only say "it was ugly, but a win is a win!" so many times.
Hope they prove my more than mild skepticism wrong next week.
Go App.

Re: Appalachian St at Marshall Game Thread
What a difference not having a multi-million dollar a year coach on the sidelines made today. The 3 points we should have taken at the half would have been nice in the 4th qtr. Usually when we hold another team to 17 points, we win. Marshall's D wasn't that good, nor was their offense. I forgot abo...

Re: Appalachian St at Marshall Game Thread
Uuuuuuugh. A billion starters returning? Top 25 ranking? The SEC 3:30 slot on Saturday afternoon with lots of eyeballs waiting to be unexpectedly endeared/impressed by a team? I don't know about anyone else, but i hang out and interact with lots of people who went to Power 5 schools. And i stick up ...

Re: Appalachian St at Marshall Game Thread
Everyone, please stop with the "wake up calls."
Last week was the wake up call.
But, the really scary part? In a season like this, it's going to be really easy to lose a team.
This could get ugly for Clark quickly.
But that's what usually happens when you hire the coach "every player loves."

Re: Appalachian St at Marshall Game Thread
Relax folks. We will correct it. We’re just not an explosive offense right now and we all knew it when Sutton opted out....if were being honest. Doesn’t work that way at this level. We are in the FBS in a perceived weak conference returning the house with tons of expectations. We have to win these ...

Re: Appalachian St at Marshall Game Thread
Ok, let's take the kid gloves off...and please note, i've been holding this back since last year, because i was trying to stay positive and optimistic... Sean Clark was a step back. It was a small time school/panic move. And the unfortunate (possibly melodramatic) reality is, the growth and exciteme...

We have the Campbell game to fix this crap show before our season is determined against the Cajuns and then GA southern. The first two weeks of October. what are you talking about? Our season is being determined right now. Sun Belt championships are great and all, but isn't the goal for more than t...

Re: Appalachian St at Marshall Game Thread
There are zero signs this next quarter is going to be any better than the last seven, so... It's okay to have higher expectations. It's okay to expect to beat Marshall convincingly. It's okay to expect to be part of the New Years Eve conversation. It's okay to expect the upward trajectory of this pr...
