Re: Boone Branding

I like the slogan "Go back to Florida" Working at Harris Teeter in Boone during the summer.... Floridians used to tip for me bringing out their groceries. They helped a broke college kid buy lots of beer..... Working in produce there, they also complained they could get cheaper and better items in ...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

It was mentioned earlier Adams may not be the only asst. coach who bolts quickly. Any more concerns about this? I haven’t heard of any immediate concerns, but based on the resumes of a lot of these guys, if a P5 comes calling.....the DL coach stands out to me as a guy who could easily get a nice of...

Who would we choose as WR coach if we were choosing?
Apparently Drink has two guys in mind, couldn't get any names though. He said that both were top notch guys, but I guess we will have to wait and see. I just want good teachers at the position who can fine tune our skill guys.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

Anyone remember when the Taco Bell was torn down for like a year?! It was the summer of 2006 I believe and my girlfriend at the time went to go pick us up some food then called me and said, "Taco Bell is gone...like the building isn't even there" So we had to drive down to Wilkesboro whenever we ha...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

Nothing beats the either 3 or 4 dogs for $1 at the shell station on 321 back in the 80’s. Mmmm good and cheap late at night. I always wonder how much money Cook Out would have gotten from me if they were around when I was in school. Late night options were soooo limited. I would work at the little ...

It is a nice sub-storyline to the world of all things Appalachian. The other one used to be the criticism of other AppState message boards.

Re: Hiatus

I’ve been following the cabin since 2004 or so and had a different account on the Delphi forum.... from what I recall it was a lot of negative talk from JCline that many disagreed with, then provocation from both sides, then accusations of “fake” accounts to garner support for bad “takes”. Gonzo pre...

Re: MLS to Charlotte

I talked to some people who said Raleigh did not have a big enough “player” in the triangle to draw the MLS there (at the time circa 2016). Aaron Davidson was the big “Soccer” guy there and his whole FIFA scandal pretty much disintegrated the RailHawks and corporate support for soccer around there.

He’s our very own CLT. Just trolls because he needs attention and we oblige. At least CLT is at time moderately entertaining.  I was thinking this very thing! Fortunately, CLT is a Charlotte fan, so he will retain that bottom spot. I’m wondering if this is just a cloak job to hide the fa...

Hob Nob was one of my favorites. Black Cat and Melanie's were also pretty good. When Boone Drug was still around as a restaurant/drug store, I loved the atmosphere. Awesome milkshakes and decent burgers (switched to FARM when I was there, but I think it's back now?). Capone's for pizza was on point...

Honestly, my goal for this season would be the two P5 wins, win the Belt, and a few weeks in the top 25.
But would you consider the season a failure if those things don’t happen?
Depends.....so many things can derail a season in football.
