Re: MLS to Charlotte

Maybe not: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Legion_Memorial_Stadium Memorial is still not large enough from a field aspect to accommodate soccer. The historical walls have to be removed and expanded to fit a regulation field. There are other major adjustments that need to be made to accommoda...

Re: MLS to Charlotte

I think both NC teams are still on the outside looking in but here is a nice look at some rankings. They do mention that Charlotte's bid has improved but Raleigh's is still stronger at this point. Either way, NC will only get one team. https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/mls-expansion-ranking-the-remai...

Re: ULL $1 dogs $2 beer

I’ve never understood the excessive concession prices at sporting events. Obviously it’s to make money but it makes more sense to me to go for volume over margin on less sales. Selling bottled water for $2 still reaps huge profits considering how cheap a case costs. Pizza chains must understand the...

Re: DG is my AD

I have had the pleasure to get to know him this last year via some one on ones and he has made me so confident about the future of this program. This guy is always thinking big picture and is all around first class.

What? You don't like talking about municipal airports? What about trains?

Re: #KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread

That’d be a cool trip! No way I can swing that. On a lighter note, BofA is back to serving the one and only Coca-Cola again. Not that I drink soda when I go to the games, but I like to have that option. Reunited and it feels sooooo goooood. Special year if Cam can stay healthy.... Yuck. I won’t sup...

Re: App State UNC sold out in 30 minutes

Well if anyone has 4 tickets laying around they don’t want let me know lol Strong possibility they are 0-3 leading into App coming to town. Maybe none available now, but there definitely will be people dumping some on Stub Hub at some point in September. I sure hope so. I had so much going on this ...

Re: Drinkwitz Interview on WFNZ

Love hearing this guy's enthusiasm every single time he speaks. Interesting is he made a very strong statement in favor of the student athletes who want to transfer. Agreed and I like that he didn't take the AAC bait. Sounded like a scripted answer he and DG worked out to deal with that kind of que...

He is great PR for the program when he comes on local radio. Great personality, intelligent, comical.....he and DG are a dynamic duo.

Re: UConn leaving the AAC

If we were playing against more relevant competition, the Charlotte Market will embrace us like they did when Miami came, and with a rivalry between us and ECU, the Triangle wouldn't be far behind. It's laughable to say Boone is not in the Charlotte Market..... Atlanta folks have no problem claiming...

Re: UConn leaving the AAC

Football is really the #1 thing that matters to these conferences. The academics and other sports come after. While App is not a National Research school, our overall student academics stack up to schools that are considered "bigger and better". All we have to do is continue to grow our support and ...

Re: UConn leaving the AAC

All this being said, DG has to at least be on the phone right? Someone on this board said he had a face-to-face with DG at an App event and he essentially said that DG told him that one of his goals was to get App into a different conference. Unless he was BSing, I would think DG has been working s...

Re: UConn leaving the AAC

Since we’re talking markets, isn’t there a way to spin App in both Charlotte and Raleigh markets and it still be reasonably true? Absolutely. I’ve had this very conversation with DG. I told him he needed to keep up the presence on local Charlotte Tv and Radio like they did this last year. Boone is ...

Re: Predict Your Breakout Player for the 2019 Season

Breakout? Like they have not already established themselves to date?

Offense: Corey Sutton
Defense: Davis-Gaither

If they have not “broke out” already....

Offense: Cam Peoples or Virgil
Defense: any of these young secondary guys backfilling Duck, Hayes, Exford

Re: Stanley Cup

Bruins may have the best power play I’ve ever seen, and I have grown up with and played hockey. But I also think they are floppers and will do anything to get those “odd man situations”. Good for the Blues for coming out and physically beating the tar out of them. Carolina should’ve done that and es...
