Re: Excellent BBQ joint
Because it's a small shop, I'm not sure if they make their own BBQ or not, but Holy Smokes on Beech mountain is really good. Their sides are a little small but the Q is excellent with lots of sauce options. It's our go to option when we are up there. Only problem is, when their out, their out until ...

Re: Way too early Top 25
Not being sarcastic...what are some things that should make us feel good about next year? I dont know alot about our recruiting class coming in. I am a noted HUGE shawn clark hater since he was hired...and so far Ive been right...i feel like we are losing all of our players and we havnt recruited a...

Re: Wake-App insider experience
Great post! Thanks for sharing your experience. Those guys fought so hard and it was a gut punch to loose in the last second. Hate it for them but like you said, they are going to win a lot of games this season. And, they're winning over fans in a major way which is really awesome to see.

Re: SoCon Average Attendance for 2022
Is it really that much worse than when we were there? I didn't think attendance outside of App State was that great when we were in the conference. Also, I'm not of retirement age but still old enough to remember when 10K would have been a reasonable crowd at Kidd Brewer.

Re: Harrisonburg
Went to 5 Guys last night in Harrisonburg and the guy behind the counter was giving me a friendly tough time for wearing my App State hoody. As I walked out ran into JMU QB coach Tino Sunseri who was entering the store. I told him I was bummed we gave up the lead to them, and he had nothing but hig...

Re: Beat Troy
#Beat Robert Morris That is literally the only game I think we can sleep walk through for a half and still impose our will. Everyone else on our schedule could beat us if we don't show up and play well. Troy is a big game. It would be a huge for them to steal our shine this weekend. I really want t...

Re: College Game Day Is Coming To BOONE!
Of course the ONE game I have plans (wife made me do it) to go to the land of oz I have a house on Beech and will be coming down the mountain for the game early with my son and a friend; we have room for one more. If you get a chance to make a break for it, wait on Beech mountain parkway with your ...

Re: Football Parking 2022
My understanding… Once you get a space as long as you give the needed amount for that parking lot every year you keep your spot. You do not get bumped. I have a friend that donated more this year and was still bumped. TheMoody1, Just so I better understand… What amount did your friend donate to YC ...

Re: Football Parking 2022
Has anyone having issues called or emailed the YC and received a satisfactory explanation and resolution? I called and first left a message. When I didn't receive a call back, I reached out again. I spoke with a nice you woman who seemed to appreciate how I felt and said I was definitely not alone....

Re: Football Parking 2022
I spoke with someone at the Yosef club who flat out told me the reason some people who had parking passes don't this year, is new season ticket holders. So, this whole, they value longevity thing is simply BS. My response to the Yosef club person, who was very nice, was; I hope bumping long-term sea...

Re: Parking Pass for 2022-2023 Season
Yes, found out today that I didn't get parking either. Apparently there are 500 people that didn't get parking. I would imagine that all the season tickets being sold had something to do with it. Fortunately, I should be able to ride in with a friend, but it is frustrating. On the other hand, I'm g...

Re: App State Beat Writer
It’s not so much the size of the program, but rather the proximity to a quality media outlet. Unfortunately, the Watauga Democrat and Winston-Salem Journal are no longer serious about covering their back yards. The Asheville Citizen and Charlotte Observer, for whatever reasons, have elected not to ...

Re: Big Ten...Uhhh Sixteen
You have to think Oregon and Washington are scrambling right now, but where do they go? Maybe they move to the SEC....makes about as much sense as UCLA and USC moving to the Big Ten. The persistent choice of TV money, in the short run, over geography and natural rivalries is killing college footbal...

Re: Another haunt bites the dust
I went in the old Antlers not too long ago. Boca Raton now, a restaurant, redesigned. Bistro Roca. But about as far from the old Antlers as Boca Raton is from Blowing Rock. You won't get a PBR draft in that establishment now! Yeah, great restaurant, nothing like Antlers but you can still catc...

Re: Next year’s depth chart..take a stab
Thomas Hennigan is an App all-time great. He will be very very difficult to replace. I'd say, unlikely if not impossible to replace. We've had a lot of very good receivers but none with his hands paired with his determination and ice-cold blood in his veins; he NEVER looked rattled to me. From day o...

Re: Coastal Carolina QB may be done for year?
I know that McCall was quoted in the MB newspaper that he took a shot to the stomach and that's what made him puke. I don't know it for fact, but McCall's name was the one quoted with the statement I saw that as well. That may be true but I think it was more likely an expeditious way to move on to ...

No disrespect to McCall but he should not have been in the game. Go watch the play. 1:20:30 mark via the link below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzEIk5OEFtc Given what we know about Chadwell and his history at other schools and how he didn't want to play the rest of the Sun Belt schedule last y...

Re: Coastal Carolina QB may be done for year?
I watched that game live and he took a helmet to helmet hit, i think two plays before he left. I could not believe they didn't stop the game and review the play for targeting but Coastal was in a hurry up offense and snapped the ball really fast. McCall looked a little off immediately after the hit ...
