Re: Hanging on for 26

Rev.share is the largest source of pay to athletes today. I also heard that App was around the $1.3M figure (which to me is mind-blowing) I heard that JMU was at $2-2.5M level this season. We won’t know for sure for some months. I’d guess the SB as a whole was in the $1-2M area. The Mount-West and A...

Re: JMU's Chesney to UCLA

Chesney has the “secret sauce” in how to use the portal and make them play like they have played together for a couple years…. an exceedingly rare skill. JMU brought in 60 players in ‘24 and was 9-4 and in ‘25 they brought in 50 something and went 11-1 their OL kick _SS all season….. few have done i...

Re: Kerns Interview

Dom and Zack congrats on a well done interview with Coach Kerns. I learned more about our team and abilities. I also liked the conversation on CJ and eateries on the East side in the SunBelt. Great job!

Re: Curt Cignetti teams....

If I’m PSU, I’d put all my chips on the table to get Cignetti….. he’s already a proven winner at IU….. crazy to say that. He’d kill it at PSU but it won’t come cheap. They’ll have to offer something around $11-12 M plus whatever he wants for asst pool, NIL, rev. share. While it took him awhile to ge...

Re: So Miss discussion

I agree that things are not optimal with the RB room but we have used freshmen before and I think you have to spread the carries out before you get yourself into the situation of only using the freshmen.

Pretty sure DLo said during the SunBelt Media days, “can’t wait to get the guys in and get started on the 29th.”

Re: Title IX Lawsuits

No big surprise there. They should file the suits. It the courts that have brought this on … not the NCAA…. this will continue and they will force the schools to more equitably share the Rev share or force schools to may large one/time payments to the affected sports programs….

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

The short answer is no. There is not a payout to participating schools or to the players “ aligning with other non-revenue sports and with concept of amateurism.” Man, is that laughable or what. That was from Google AI…. A little out of date, don’t you think? Although it does go to how much football...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

Anyway you can go back to Gillen’s 12/19/24 App St. Aporoach to changes in college sports… he lays it out in detail. The $330k “payment” is actually a reduction in future payments made from the NCAA to Apps for 10 yrs. It is essentially less for our budget than they planned for and will have to be m...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

Yes it is “revenue share.” Key phrase in House settlement is “but not required to”….. we won’t be sharing $20M or $10M or $5M or $3M…. nor will 90% of G5. This is where the gap between classifications gets greater. Also remember that those of us (us being all schools that join/ agree to follow the s...

Why do you feel USM got shafted? They’re hosting a regional. I know Troy’s HC is pissed. Go listen to his post presser after their loss in tournament. He thought they were in for sure.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

It was the double wammy of poor pitching.. 8 bb’s and 2 hit batters… 10 free baserunners.. can’t give teams that many…. and then the not great situational hitting. No urgency and that’s disappointing. Inept at moving runners, which has been an all-season issue. Their guy did pitch well and mixed up ...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

The reality of this team is they are mostly young and not great pitching. The youth appears pretty good and will be better next season . By better I mean more consistent, particularly fielding and clutch hitting. Injuries have hurt our best two or three starting pitchers. The relief guys need lots o...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

Yea maybe. The saving grace is that while CC pitching gives up about 1 less run a game better than USM pitching (great), they don’t hit as well either… about .20 less on team ba and we have about 19 more extra base hits then they do.. course you have to make contact to get extra base hits.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

We have to find a way to start hitting good pitching. Yes good pitching by definition, is good b/c they don’t give up lots of hits. Our top 5 or six hitters have to come through in these games. So far……. mostly crickets .

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

Besides the errors that hurt, we also walked 8 , so they had baserunners all the time…. they walked 0. Can’t do that and beat a good team.
