I assumed he’d be gone. His reported low salary with us combined with his experience made for an obvious departure.
I’ll echo the sentiment that I hope Jones is back as a AHC/LB and not as the DC. We’ve been down that road before.

Re: Garrett Riley to be OC
Definitely a move with some promise, hopefully the play calling is in his blood. Wonder if he picks up being the QB position coach as well?

Re: Nate Woody
By bloodline do you mean someone that was here for a few years them jumped to a higher paying job? Don’t get me wrong, I love Woody but that’s not App blood.

Re: Ivey news
Assistant Head Coaches typically take a greater role in planning and coordinating practices, meetings, and things of that nature. That way if the head coach can’t be there, the day-to-day operations of the team remain generally uneffected. I don’t see this as a HCIW type thing for Ivey, but I do thi...

Understand why he left and I wish Caruso nothing but the best. It's time for the next man up and to get him some serious reps ASAP.

I'm planning on making my donation and buying season tickets all at one time when my tax return comes in, but going forward this looks like it may be the way to go.

I can go with this, but I still contend that we're a better team than SDSU.

Not losing a home game AND taking the gate for this one is the real winner. Excited for the upcoming series and beating the snot out of ECU.

Wilks is almost a lock to get the promotion. The worst kept secret on that coaching staff is that Rivera wanted Wilks to be his DC when he was hired and the Chargers denied him.

Our post game ritual from my time in Boone was to always hit up Black Cats. Also spent a lot of time at Town Tavern back when that was what it was.

Re: Final AP Poll.... No votes
I can deal with App State not being ranked. I can't deal with us not receiving votes and SDSU being ranked. We have the edge in SoS, two of our three losses came against year end top-25 teams and none of theirs did, and we had a top-10 D1 defense. There's no objective way someone could consider them...

Re: Final AP Poll.... No votes
No votes at all is total crap. This is a 10-win, conference title winning, bowl winning team with a top-10 scoring defense. Our conference finished second in bowl winning percentage. I wasn't expecting to be ranked but having no votes at all is total crap.

Re: Coach Woody
Scot Sloan. He is NW's right hand man, knows the D and the players, helped designed our redzone D and also designed the dime we've been using in more recent games to slow down some of the tempo passing teams. Thrown in his importance in recruiting and it's a win/win. Not disagreeing with you, but w...

Is it just me or does Dabo not get the respect he deserves? He's not seen as the same quality of coach as Saban, Meyer, et al, but here he is in a second straight national championship game and his Tigers just absolutely dismantled the Buckeyes.
