Re: Dear Dr. Everts

I have a memory of a quote by Butch Davis (former Carolina football coach who took the fall for the scandal), I think, but could be wrong. But it was a Carolina football coach that complained that "in Chapel Hill they wanted to be Oklahoma on Saturday and Harvard Monday thru Friday."

The first block was a blocking problem. The one at the end of the game was Rubinho trying to kick it through a tree.
But it was good. Was there another Saturday that was missed? I thought it was just that one PAT.

Re: Dear Dr. Everts

Okay, so UNC admitted to SACSCOC that it was academic fraud. Then UNC told the NCAA it was not academic fraud that there was a typo to the accrediting association. So which is it??? Can/will the accrediting association come back??? I'm pretty much with the OP. No need to play this bunch. The playin...

Re: Challenge for next week

It was amazing how the defense just like took over the game in the 2nd half Saturday. Linehan was clearly rattled and those key forced fumble recoveries were game changers. Boggs, Simms, Townes, and others were playing lights out inspired football to close out the game.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread

Kick was way low. https://i.imgur.com/kIJZFOv.gif What is the left end doing? He looks like a gate swing open. The way the 2 far right blockers are just merely leaning and stretching out an arm to touch the next player, as if their arms are all that's needed. The way they're so deliberate about tha...

Re: Challenge for next week

We need to get at least a few blowouts so we can give more of the younger guys to get some real playing experience. But a win is a win, and that's the most important obviously.

Re: GaSo fans in Boone

I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but it's an idea. For Thursday night games that don't draw well, would it be possible to make an announcement, say early 1st quarter, to the hill people that they can take an un-occupied seat as long as they move if the ticket holder shows up? It'd be bett...

Re: Dear Dr. Everts

In my opinion, the sins of Penn St are FAR worse than the fake classes at UNC. I mean boys were essentially raped and their lives ruined while the football program turned a blind eye. Sure, but the supposed purpose of the NCAA is to protect the integrity of the “student-athlete” system. Moreover, P...

Re: UL v Texas State

Time either "exposes" or "elevates." It's clear now that Tx State hasn't improved and and injuries may have impacted them negatively since we played them IDK, but they sure looked better in our game than they did last year. We came close to a 2 score victory but that's football, a play here or there...

The UNC games need to stay on the schedule and we'll hope that they've made changes to insure nothing like that happ...

Re: NCAA to UNC: "It is our business"

They may still face penalties or consequences from the Southern Association of Colleges if they choose to re-open their review of the situation since the NCAA review deemed that courses "were available to all students," and clearly not real courses. This wouldn't take away championship banners or ha...

Re: P(5)AC-12 HC...Expand the CFP

I think if you expanded it to 12 (top 4 get 1st round byes) or even better, 16, it'd create a lot of interest. The WSU guy was suggesting even a 32 or 64 team format, which emulates March Madness but I doubt it'd ever go to that level. BUT, he may be suggesting the 32 or 64 game playoff so that a 1...

Re: One more WS Journal-Post NMSU

I don't think all those interceptions against NMSU were because of luck. From an Appstatesports.com article: "With 47 interceptions since the start of the 2015 season, App State ranks third nationally behind only San Diego State (57) and Utah (49)." Also, "They put in the work, studying film and und...

Re: Boone to Moscow

It cracks me up how this board meanders around different topics...now we're discussing jets and trucks for away games? LOL. While we're on the subject of trucks, and this isn't a big deal but it does take away from the beauty of The Rock, but there's always a big service truck of some kind parked on...

OMG...I love this guy. If there were even a 16 or 32 game playoff it'd create so much excitement it'd be awesome. Hopefully, there are more thinking like this guy is.

Last night during the Panthers broadcast, Steve Wilkes was mentioned. Questions...

1. Was this the former App player?
2. Is he coaching or playing?
3. Which team, Panthers or Eagles?
Yes, former App player. He's the defensive coordinator for the Panthers.

Re: One more WS Journal-Post NMSU

I wonder if the 4th and 1st quarters had been reversed, and we went up big early and then held on to win the game if it would seem like a better game to everyone. The thinking would be: "App State dominated and then held NMSU at bay to preserve the win." I think it was the fact that the game was in...
