I'm more concerned about holding on to our recruits, and filling the gaps for the ones we have lost in the last few weeks .Hoping we can wrap up everyone on the 20th.
So, who have we lost in the last few weeks?

Re: 2017 BOWL GAME BUS (12/8/2017 UPDATED Pricing)

Wish I could this again this year, it was a lot of fun last year going to Montgomery. Didn't know a soul on the bus but it was like we were all family riding down together...the bowl experience started the moment we rolled out of Winston. It was so much fun. We were able to take a cooler on the bus ...

Re: Dollar General comments: ASU vs Toledo

Wow...look at this stat from the article:

"MAC teams went 0-6 in bowls last year and are 14-39 in the past decade."

Does anyone have the Sun Belt's stats for this?

Re: Dollar General it is

I wonder if the Toledo fans also realize that there's a high probability of their losing this "un-desirable" bowl game? So, they're not happy with the bowl itself AND there's a good chance of losing...and they did have a good year. However; and I haven't done a strength of schedule comparison, but a...

They're gonna love when App Nation rolls into Conway next Fall...that'll boost their average.

Re: AppState Football is also losing team photographer...

I've always thought we should have gone with the backup photographer. She never made the prize winning photo, she only got the shots she should have gotten. LOL..agree. Despite capturing record-breaking action shots, she couldn't handle the big game shots when the spotlight was on...

Not sure about the train whistle thing...back in my day the Western Carolina people always used to call us UNC-Tweetsie. It was a long time ago...but I still don't like it. So, I'm luke-warm on the train whistle...

Re: Question regarding when we play

Is there any relationship between when we play and the selection gods? We played a week earlier last year... this year if we played much later we would be bumping into games with the top 25 teams. We got more respect this time around?? I don't think so. For SBC bowls it's pretty much who the bowls ...

Re: Jason Candle

That would be a nice landing spot for Candle. UCF brings back a lot from this year's Peach Bowl roster. Think we could convince UNCC to move our game to a future date so App and UCF could play next year? That would give UCF: 2 ACC teams, the CUSA Champ and the Sun Belt Co-Champ for an OOC schedule....

Re: Jason Candle

If Candle is the front runner or actually signed before our game it should help us beat that Toldeo team as they're dealing with the HC leaving.

Re: Oh Ye - Of So Little Faith-Part 2 - Consolation Prize

Someone needs to pull the records for all G5 teams for the past 3 years. I’m willing to bet we are top 10 Well App has been getting plenty of mileage out of the stat about best record among G5s over the last 3.5 years. Just over the last three we're now 29-9. Without looking it up I'd actually gues...

Re: Oh Ye - Of So Little Faith-Part 2 - Consolation Prize

What's the point of this thread? To point out to those who so quickly are ready to "write this team off" for whatever reason, poor coaching, subpar QB, stupid play calls, DBs who give up and miss tackles, OLmen who continue to make the same mistakes, poor special team play, barely beating the worst...

Who do we have that’s been injured who should or could be healed for this game? I know it doesn’t make a huge difference but what was Upshaw’s injury? Sorry can’t recall. Would have been great for him to get to play. Even just a carry.
Upshaw had a torn bicep or tricep and is out for good.

Re: Dollar General it is

Will we be the only college football game on that night? If so, that'll be great exposure assuming we play well which I expect we will since we'll have 3 weeks to continue healing up our wounded players. Also, although I'm not going to be able to go due to the timing with family Christmas celebratio...

Re: Bowl projections

Am I wrong to believe that just because the NO bowl picks first doesn't mean that it carries any special significance? The league bowls have to have some kind of selection order for choosing and we all know it's based on expected ticket sales, not on their perception of the quality of the teams? So,...

I think we'll play each division team every year H&H, and then the the West division teams will be on a rotational basis.

Re: Bowl projections

My Christmas wish is to play in Orlando vs Marshall. That would be epic and would be a great re-start of our old rivalry without having to wait until 2021 when they come to Boone. They will bring a bunch of people to that game.
