Re: #21 APP State -25 to South AL

The point about the media guide and game notes is that you can consider it the "official" university position that we are asking to not be called Appy in any way. ULL is not a derogatory reference, it's just an out-dated reference. However, LaLa is derogatory, and is meant that way when used. The co...

Re: #21 APP State -25 to South AL

The official media guide and the weekly game notes issued by the university actually asks very nicely NOT to use "Appy" or "Appy State." So for an opposing coach to use it is just outright disrespectful. I personally see it as an intended slight and consequently don't like it but I don't get all ben...

Re: SB Championship game

I agree, I'm glad to see Elliott turning things around but not going to like it if he spoils our special season we've got going on. I feel like of the games we've got left USC and Ga State are the toughest with Troy being a close 3rd. Not discounting Ga Southern but I think our guys will smack them ...

Re: SB Championship game

Never thought i'd say this but I'm a little worried about the GA State game. If Troy knocks them off this weekend then I'll go back to just worrying about Troy...but if GA state beats them they could be tough when we go down to Atlanta. Don't understand why they lost to TX State (3OTs), and Furman g...

Re: #21 APP State -25 to South AL

I’ll tell you I wrote the Charlotte Observer after we beat LaLa last year and followed up yesterday after the pitiful coverage they gave us. We are the only ranked team in NC and they don’t even look our way. Blow up their writers emails. I totally get your point and love your initiative...just wan...

Re: ESPN Bowl Predictions

As far as the CFP committee goes, my understanding is that they are only supposed to consider the current season's play, correct? So, if that's the case AP voters may give credence to Boise St's past performance but the committee is not supposed to. Although, I suppose it's like telling a jury to di...

Re: #21 APP State -25 to South AL

We always listen to the post game show on the radio as we leave Boone and they speak to several players. What impressed me Saturday was how each player I heard spoke about the 1-0 approach and one even mentioned (and clearly he was already thinking about it literally minutes after the game) about ho...

Re: Track

From what I can tell, the athletic department is doing everything they can with a challenging funding situation. Football is what would cause the tide to rise...and you know what happens to all boats when the tide rises. There is an open spot in the AAC coming next year and football might drive thei...

Re: Halloween is coming - about the GS rivalry

Guys, it is my fervent hope and prayer that we hang 75 points on them Iggles on Halloween on ESPN, and that we pitch a shutout. All in favor signify by saying Aye. This could be too much fun. Aye Aye, sir! We need to punish and embarrass them on national TV. Hope Drink keeps his foot on the gas and...

Well, it looks like UL has a good shot at winning the West again and even if we drop a conf game we hold the tie breaker over them.

Re: Construction

Based on the new rendering, if one was in the East section, if they wanted to peruse the new section, they will have to walk around the entire stadium to get there. I was really hoping it would allow you to walk through from the East. I believe that is the long-term plan. DG has made comments that ...

Re: Construction

Haven’t seen this discussed anywhere but any ideas why the new renderings have one level of stadium seating as opposed to two levels on the original renderings? Kind of an awkward space on the lower levels of the building Original rendering https://www.appstate.edu/_images/vision/Endzone-Render-Vie...

Re: Halloween is coming - about the GS rivalry

I still will hate Ga Southern but I just don't see their program keeping up with where DG is taking us. He's in the process of turning us into the premier G5 program in the country. I think the rivalry will stay heated for a while at least and last year's fluke loss certainly has me fired up about t...

Re: Halloween is coming - about the GS rivalry

I don't know, I kind of feel like we're going to leave Ga Southern behind like we did Western Carolina, and prior to them, Lenoir Rhyne I believe used to be a big rivalry. They got lucky last year with their win but we've pretty much been their daddy for years now...there ya go...the "Father's Day ...

Re: Fun to think about....What If.....I know you have thought it

Didn't want to start a new thread but an article just popped up on ESPN talking through the "what if scenarios" and low and behold App State is mentioned along with SMU and Boise- What if we all go unbeaten to include our win at South Carolina. Great to be in the discussion. I love being in the "di...

Division 1-A (fbs) College Football Is the only sport in the WORLD ....from Back Woods Pee Wee Baseball to Chinese Professional Table Tennis that you can go undefeated in your "league" and not play for a championship. It really is Ludicrous https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2019-college-football...

Re: Running backs

Raykwon Anderson was someone I was really excited about since I saw his HS film. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands. Reminds me a lot of evans. I was thinking we would see him at WR/DB and KR/PR instead of RB; but when you need someone to fill a role, an outstanding athlete can do that. Would...

Re: Running backs

What I love about watching Darrynton Evans is how patient he is waiting for the blocks. It takes skill to slow down and redirect behind the blocking. Darrynton is crazy fast, but he does not "hurry". He's definitely fun to watch! So true, and when he gets open space he's at top speed in no time...m...
