I swear, every year it seems like we just sit around during the offseason and then are surprised when a football game comes around.
A lot of the things that are wrong don't even cost any money to fix. That's unacceptable at any level of business.

Parking Deck Tailgates - Safe?
So I always like to do research on completely useless things and came across this: "Per the International Building Code, parking structures are designed for a live load of 40 pounds per square ft of live load. The top level of a parking structure is designed for that plus the snow load – typically 5...

Re: Official Gardner's Till prediction thread
App 35 GW 24 Closer than we'd hope, but never in doubt. After a few people expressed they liked it, I've decided I'll do the prediction scorekeeping again this year, so let the games begin. Reminder of the rules: You MUST make a score prediction every week to stay in the season-long race. I'll post ...

Hopefully, this selling out so quickly will show the demand for them to put some individual seats somewhere in the stadium at a premium cost.

Re: New NCAA rule in effect
Army Navy game will be 1 hour long.
I hate this rule. I hated it when it came out, and I hate it now. It'll just mean more TV timeouts and fewer plays.
I cringe to think about how often teams are going to screw up clock management.

Re: 2005-2022 total donations
A few takeaways: We're $28M behind the 1st Sunbelt school, ODU, and we're about 72% of their total. Our enrollment is about 80% of theirs currently, but theirs is declining and ours is increasing. If I had to guess, it'd probably equal out to about the same per alumni. Coastal has $21M and they seem...

Re: Opening day in Hickory
I remember them telling me the thing about the bell during a pre-freshman visit to campus or orientation, I can't remember which one. They really try to push the narrative. I was quickly told by a sophomore like the 1st day I was there that that wasn't a thing.

Man they release an injury list every week that says if they have a bruise on their pinky toe, I don't think HIPAA is stopping this one.

Someone went to freelogocreator.com and picked the first thing that came up.
The bell is completely irrelevant to campus. The "mountains" are foothills at best. The font is bad. Just....ugh.

Re: Priority Points
So I check mine fairly often, and it's pretty comical at how much it swings prior to the season starting. I don't know what in the world they do with it but it seems they change their mind/correct errors/whatever it may be about 20 times in the off-season. This isn't new to this year. Once the seaso...

Re: No tailgate spots for students this season
I think most people upset right now are only upset for one reason. They think "App State Tailgate" isn't a fan account, but rather an official part of the University. I'd wait to see if the athletic department makes a statement regarding tailgating, then grab pitchforks. Except App State Tailgate w...

Re: No tailgate spots for students this season
I know I tailgated during some of the worst "modern" years of App 10-14, but I'm thinking back to when I tailgated with my group in Raley and I don't remember it being trashed at all. In fact, the only thing people left seemed to be grills. Do we still have people in that lot walking around with tra...

Re: No tailgate spots for students this season
I always try to keep my perception as a student of what the Yosef Club was (I graduated in '14) Yosef Club in my 18-23 year old mind: 1) No idea. 2) No idea what people donated to get in the lots 3) No idea what people donated to get into seats, I just figured the people in "those yellow seats on th...

Re: EXPANDING STADIUM TO 40k CAPACITY
Seriously, this has turned weird. I don't understand why we're so upset someone won't reveal information that is not available for the public, as when it is made public you'll have all the information and knowing it now will not a change a SINGLE thing about the outcome of who/what/when/where/why/ho...

Re: EXPANDING STADIUM TO 40k CAPACITY
Well, considering the project won't even begin until 2026 probably, we have a couple of years to flesh out demand. As long as we have a good year this year, I personally think all will be forgiven and demand will stay strong. If we have a 4-8 year though, especially considering our relatively weak O...

Re: App picked 2nd in East by Sun Belt coaches
Crazy we have 0 players on 1st or 2nd team defense. Not really surprising though, I'm guessing McLeod would have been on there. Surprised not to see Bucky's name on the 2nd team offense though, seems to be getting a lot of accolades elsewhere. He had a 0.5% missed block percentage last year or somet...

I still think they should have stuck to Washington Football Team rather than try to force a name change. It was so bad it was good.

Re: EXPANDING STADIUM TO 40k CAPACITY
Today the administration announces the App State Tithe Policy. Since football gives so much to the University and asks so little, as it is the most important part of the university, from now all 10% of all tuition and all departmental budgets will be given to out sord and lavior App State Football ...
