Re: G5 Poll

I-AA How are we not already in a new 1-AA? Sure we COULD make the CFB but we couldn't win it....Look me in the eyes Stonewall and tell me you believe App could be Alabama in January. The best we can get is guarantees via state law or NCAA rule that P2 schools have to play G5 schools...which they wi...

Re: G5 Poll

Josh Pate on his show Late Kick made a great point about the G5... Realistically the G5 has no shot at winning an expanded playoff. At best you win 2 games. So why participate? If that's the case then have a separate playoff based on spending/revenue. Have it run concurrently as the P5 playoff and h...

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion

Good leaders rise to the occasion. In a group as large as a football team there is more than 1 guy who has what it takes to lead. Give that young man or men time to grieve and then step up.

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion

I've been really impressed with the players we've picked up in the portal. It appears we've addressed our needs, picked up some guys that were targets in HS and filled in some depth.

It will take time to see if these guys are legit but at face value I'm pretty excited for this coming season.

Re: NC lawmakers to force UNC, NC State to play in-state schools

Let's be real...This bill is the legislatures concession to allow NCSU and UNC to go to the SEC and BIG10. If we see it pass without much trouble it means the moves are a done deal and we'll see it happen before SMU, Cal & Stanford are official ACC members so they can't vote against it. This is good...

When more guys fail to land another offer this will settle down for G5 guys who haven’t proven squat.
Yeah I agree. So much talent just goes to waste in the portal.

I hope that in the future guys don't enter the portal unless they have a good idea about their outcome.

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion

Yes. Lindsey announced awhile back. Criswell is leaving Arkansas for playing time and a chance to prove himself. If we play it right we might have a shot. Do we have playing time to offer to a QB? Is he good enough to challenge Joey for the job? This is a good point...any QB coming in would have to...

I don’t see Burger as a win. He didn’t stick either.
That’s fair and certainly a criteria that can be applied. I look at as he was good enough to get on the field. Based on that, I wouldn’t call him a bust.
Burger was not a bust. No one with objectivity can say he didn't get what he earned.

Re: 2024 Roster Updates

Hate to see another QB go and I get kids want to play...but the odds of it working out in the portal seem to be so slim.

If I was advising kids thinking about entering the portal I'd have them have something lined up before they leave the school their at.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Perhaps Kerns encouraged them to test the waters and make the most of better opportunities should they present themselves but that if not, he’d welcome them back. Builds trust and loyalty with ones that do come back and shows he cares about them over his own success. I can see a scenario where befo...
