Re: Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2018

Still a solid class. Of all the QB recruits who have washed out since Thomas, Brown was the one I was most excited to sign. His post-App career makes me think the talent was there. Same for Person; didn't realize how much success he had at UTC. Person is the 1st transfer I’ve seen in the past 5 cla...

Re: Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2018

Some liberal use of "GOAT" in these posts; I assume you are using it to mean "great of all time"? I use it to identify the greatest in the class. Although this class was a little more difficult decision, Coop got the nod for being a 4 yr starter at a very important OT position. Dude was consi...

Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2018

Happy Sunday guys, bout didn't get this in on the 18th, with church and family today, but able to break down the class of 2018. This group had so much potential, with App coming off back to back Sun Belt Championships and a blowout 34-0 Dollar General bowl win over Toledo. There are two coaching cha...

Re: Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2017

Really wish Harrington could have stayed healthy, I think he would have received all conference honors if he had. When you look at the guys who transferred, they has success, but all at a lower level. Which tells you the transfer was because these guys weren't just good enough to get the PT they wan...

Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2017

Happy Saturday! As we have hit Jan 17th, we will take a look at the recruiting class of 2017, which arguably might be just as good as the class of 16, which I think is a debate. App is coming off the '16 season where they have won a share of their 1st Sun Belt Championship and 2nd straight bowl game...

Re: App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14

Wasn’t Nikia Cathey killed in some sort of gun violence? Dang, if that's true, I don't remember hearing about it and can't find any record of it online. To answer the OP's question, he did make it to campus and was on App's roster for a couple years or so, but never saw much playing time and I beli...

Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2016

Happy Jan 16th! Today we are breaking down what might possibly be App's greatest recruiting class. App just completed the 2015 season going 11-2 with it's 1st ever bowl win over Ohio 31-29 in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl. The Coaching staff has pretty much stayed the same, minus the departure of J...

Re: Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2015

So these players that I could find out what happen with a google search: Jake Easter & Edward Davis, anybody in the know can help fill in the blanks with these guys? BTW, if there's anything that may be inaccurate on the OP, please share and I'll correct/update the list. Small item..it is Josh not ...

Re: Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2015

CoachRob is the statistics guru for Apps recruiting history. This is great info. I think it brings tons of clarity to the questions of how did our recruiting classes actually perform. Thanks for your time investment. By the time you get all these together you can have Grok summarize all the data in...

Recruiting Rewind, Class of 2015

Happy Jan 15th! Today we will break down and take a look at the recruiting class of 2015. Coming off of an 7-5 1st year of FBS, including 6 straight to finish the season, here's what that February signing day looked like: Head Coach: Scott Satterfield Total Commits: 21 Sun Belt Rank: 7th National Ra...

Re: App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14

Will have a break down of at least next 5 classes over next 5 days. This is excellent stuff! Could you summarize the classes going forward: - Number of recruits - Number of players that played - Starters - All Conference Would be interesting to see what percentage of each class achieved those level...

Re: App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14

Chandler Greer was just named the head football coach at AC Reynolds HS in Asheville. Meadors was a difference maker. Burning his redshirt halfway through 2014 was the right decision. Opened up the offense more and led to upticks for all WRs, including Malachi Jones, Bobo Beathard and Simms McElFre...

Re: App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14

7 All Sun Belt players from this class including an 8th who played in the NFL. Those in the class that were 5th year Seniors got to experience at least a share of the Sun Belt Conference Championship in the final 3 of their years playing. Heck of an accomplishment. If anyone has insight on guys who ...

App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14

Happy January 14th to all. With all the discussion of transfer portal & recruiting this time of year, I wanted to look back at the previous recruiting classes in FBS and break down how successful/unsuccessful each class was. I have listed all recruits in order of ranking and giving a small breakdown...

Re: Portal time 25-26

It starts and stops up front. Injuries along the OL derailed our offense this year and we haven't had a dominate DL since our last conference championship. Best recruiting class up front we've had in a long time. Need to find a few more in the Portal.

Re: We need a good offensive coordinator

I’m not sure I buy the idea that DL is a bad play caller. My issue is with our QB play. In my 25+ years watching App St football, that was the worst QB room we’ve had, relative to our competition. It was a huge red flag we didn’t have a starter named/known until the first snap of the season. For th...
