Re: September 7, 2024
A bit off topic but I have a business trip to Statesboro and tried to find a nice restaurant there. Like finding a gnat in a haystack.

Re: FSU threatens to go BIG10
I long for the days of RayCom ACC basketball on Thursday nights, staying up past bedtime to watch Curtis Staples and Lakista McCuller, but not Donald Williams….never Donald Williams.

Re: App Receiving Votes…No Longer Just One
No one wants to hear this, and for the record I really like the Sun Belt, but there are reputational advantages to the American. With all of the movement no conference is what it used to be. App is in the best place it could be and many schools would like to be in the Sun Belt Conference right now....

Re: App Receiving Votes...Well, Vote
Was this the game were we missed some free throws from someone that was pretty automatic on the line just before the end of the game? DJ Thompson went 0fer from the field in regulation and missed the front of a 1-and-1 late in the game. Then Donte Minter was at the line with 2.2 seconds left, down ...

Hopper, he got a big sack early and recovered a fumble. Very disruptive until his mental error.

Re: Cure bowl vs Miami (OH)
I too have been in my recliner screaming for Joey to pull it and run but honestly he’s more valuable to us than the handful of yards that he’ll pick up based on the associated risk. Nice TD run though!Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 5:47 pmHow about that? Joey can actually run one! It ain't rocket science

Re: Cure bowl vs Miami (OH)
Worry a lot of SBC members were backsliding the last half of the season and could look bad as a conference over all. Even JMU with losing coach/QB they could be a different team. Most anytime a team loses a starting QB spells trouble. I'm not speaking of our case in game 1. The Sun Belt will have t...

Re: Congrats - Bowl Eligible
That would be a downgrade on venue and opponent. To be fair we are an 8-5 Sun Belt team. I’m just glad to be bowling. The Sun Belt is the best G5 league and it's not even close. Furthermore, what does that say about GSU if App needs to be downgraded from the Cure? Based on what criteria?

Re: Congrats - Bowl Eligible
Flight to Orlando is fairly cheap (30k miles or $400). Might have to find a way to try and make that one… You can do it a lot less on Frontier or Spirit out of Charlotte. Currently from Charlotte, non stop roundtrip, Friday to Sunday, $63 dollars on Frontier. Just leave the wife at home and pack a ...

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
Practically speaking, how does this work. Do coaches share a list of players that they are interested in and then companies with NIL money make offers or do coaches directly make financial offers based on the money they know they can access for new players? Technically speaking, the schools aren’t ...

Re: Gameday App @ JMU /Game discussion
I hope there are exactly 82 six win teams and watch their heads explode. I am torn on it. Either way it’s good for us and league. Seeing their heads explode would be funny but having them in a bowl is good for the league as well. The SunBelt was viewed by others as a joke when we joined and that pe...

Re: Moving on to Southern Miss
Will likely regret this but I’m cautiously optimistic for the rest of the season. An ugly win but this type of win can help flip the script. Although it might be too late for him, I am loving the last ditch efforts by Clark to instill some pride and passion - turnover chain, getting the offense to ...

Re: Moving On To ODU
My amateur observations: Joey is playing pretty well overall. Keeps plays alive , makes decent decisions Defense makes great plays, followed by dumb ones- ie take bad angles, get out of position Clark may not be our guy, but IMHO replacing him at year’s end will set us back another 2-3 seasons. For...

I remember the Halloween game vs Wofford in 2008. Put 70 on the board. Mostly remember that one, tailgated starting at 9am. It was fun. Wished it was my last memory of a game on my birthday that I was at… Started at 1:30 because I had a test at 1 and soon as I got back to my apartment, neighbors we...
