Re: Michigan Tuesday night
I drove down to Ann Arbor to watch the game. I have followed App State football for many years and have seen a number of games in Boone. But this was my first real look at an App State basketball team and I was not disappointed. This is the way I saw it. It was a game of two halves. In the first hal...

Re: MAC
MAC football is down this year. We will have two teams from the SunBelt playing two from the MAC in bowl games this year and without even knowing which teams will be involved I don't like the MAC's chances in either of those games. Here is a link to a thread on the MAC conference message board about...

Re: Hardly anyone attends MAC and Some SunBelt college football games. SEC Schools lead attendance decline percentage.
Attendance at MAC football games is disappointing to those of us who attend most of the home games and even travel to some that are away. It has been a problem for as long as I can remember and I'm getting pretty far up there in years now. My school is Central Michigan. We have a stadium with 30,200...

Re: Western Michigan vs. Central Michigan?!
I'm an old Central Michigan grad and a big fan of the school and its athletic programs. But I have also been a fan of App State for years. You used to be my favorite FCS team. Things changed a little when you moved to FBS but I still follow the team closely. I have been attending one game in Boone e...

Re: Camellia Bowl: We just need to OWN IT!
This should be one of the better bowl games this season and I hope a lot of people will be watching. Both teams are solid. Despite that, don't expect to see many Toledo fans down there for this one. That has nothing to do with App State. In general, MAC football attendance is not good, home or away.

Be careful what you say
Be careful what you say on sports message boards, you could get sued. Here is a link to an article about a law suit against three Western Michigan fans for comments they have made on one of the WMU sports message boards. Those of us who are from Central Michigan are well aware of the guy who calls h...

Re: Game Stream: App vs Ohio
I think you will enjoy the trip to Ohio University. It is a great basketball school. They have one of the finest arenas in the MAC seating just over 13,000. The building is getting a little old but it's still pretty nice. They recently played an exhibition game and drew 11,000+. I gave some serious ...

For what it's worth
I attended the game on Saturday and sat with all the other App State fans. And I proudly wore my App State hat for that day. I was disappointed for sure but going in I in no way was expecting to see a repeat of the 2007 game. I was expecting a big loss because my experience in the MidAmerican Confer...

Re: Lembo to Wake Forest
I know Lembo has been winning in the MAC, but I'm curious if there are any fans of MAC teams that have the same complaint about Lembo as we do. I have only heard positive comments about Lembo on the CMU message boards. I think CMU fans would take Lembo in a minute over the head coach we now have. A...

Lembo to Wake Forest
For those App State fans that would like to play Wake Forest, you just may get the chance in the near future. Rumor has it Pete Lembo of Ball State is interviewing for the Wake Forest job, or I should say rumor has it a representative of Wake Forest recently flew to Muncie to interview Lembo. He was...

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
That's right. The win over Toledo was big and demonstrates in my mind Akron is probably in phase two of a four phase rebuilding process. One of the guys on our board called Akron difficult to understand. I said they were not difficult to understand at all. We are simply looking at the beginning of a...

Re: MAC expansion
Again I couldn't agree more. App State is a Southern university and belongs in a Southern conference. Forget about the academics part of it which I think is hogwash or drivel. The Southern university thing is what made Marshall and Central Florida bad fits for the MAC. Both considered themselves Sou...

Re: MAC expansion
I agree App State is right up there with James Madison. In fact, one of the rankings I saw for public, regional universities in the South listed The Citadel, James Madison and Appalachian State as #1, #2 and #3. No one is ever going to question the academics at Appalachian State. It may be that App ...

MAC expansion
Here is a post from the main CMU message board that may interest some of you because it deals with James Madison and the Sun Belt. I guess I did not know JMU wanted into the MAC. And I don't think the MAC will ever get Army for football only. Army was in the old C-USA and did not make out well in te...

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
Akron has been down for a long time in football. They built a new stadium and then brought in Bowden to turn things around. I'm betting he will make a difference and when App State plays at Akron in 2016 you could well be facing a better football team then you are looking at right now. Don't count i...

Re: Huge scheduling news coming
Old rivalries, familiar programs and away games you can drive to and from in one day are going to fall away. As a member of the SunBelt App fans are going to have to adjust to new programs. That's not going to happen over night and there will most likely be a number of games in the near future that ...

You can still watch much of that game on YouTube. I have watched it several times, it never gets old.
