Re: General Contractor
We bought a vacation cabin in Blowing Rock 6 years ago that became our full time residence 3 years ago. When we decided to move here full time, we decided to make some significant additions/improvements to our place, and we used Alair Homes of Boone. They were highly recommended to us by a neighbor ...

Re: No canned, all BAND
This ship has sailed. The players and the students love the DJ and music. I’m all for getting the BOD miked up, because you can barely hear them in 205, but cutting all canned music wouldn’t and shouldn’t happen IMO. Both serve a purpose in modern, FBS college football.

I used to visit this site daily for updates. I maybe drop by once every other week these days, because every damn thread turns into a pissing match about Covid. Every. Single. Thread.

Did you guys that are questioning Duck not getting his degree even read the article? "He returned home to his parents’ house in Charlotte, N.C., and since then, Duck has been taking online classes at Appalachian State to complete his communications degree (he’s one semester short), working out, coac...

Re: Article: App State Twitter Divide
When I was a student in the 80's, I had a pin that I wore on my blue jeans jacket that said "If its too loud, you are too damn old". A tale as old as time guys...young folks love to push buttons. I probably wouldn't wear that button any more even though I still love to crank tunes up. I follow some ...

Re: "Who shot Joe?"
I was a freshman in '82 and I never heard this story. I did however hear plenty of "Hey Joe...where you going with that gun in your hand" rocking through my speakers at Eggers.

NC Phase 2.5 is the biggest football heartbreak I have experienced. And as a long term season ticket holder, its not even close.

I haven't confirmed what I'm hearing is true. Have some feelers out though.

Re: Ivy’s Cancel All Fall Sports
This tweet from App State Athletics is pretty telling in my opinion. The Hall of Fame inductions from 2020 are now considered the Hall of Fame Inductions for 2021. This is being done so that they can receive the recognition during a home football game. Hmmmm..... https://twitter.com/appstatesports/s...

Re: How much have Apps made in the last 20 years?
Total earnings in the NFL for our last 20 years players who actually made some money. This includes signing bonuses, roster bonuses, etc... Dexter Coakley--10 seasons--I stopped with him because its hard to find anything pre-2000. I estimate his total earnings betweeo $18-22 million because he didn...

One of Dempsey's old custom cleats hangs over the bar at the Olde Absinthe House bar on Bourbon Street. The Moody 1 and I have gotten a chance to see it a few times now.

Re: App vs ECU getting bumped
The way I see this: 1. I will now be scheduling PTO for Thursday and Friday, which will make a GREAT 5 day holiday weekend. 2. The game will be played at night, on prime time; the only bearable time for a football game that time of year in CLT. 3. After our victory, I will drive to Boone Friday am f...

Re: Nolan Jones hired as Associate AD for Football Operations
Is it normal for guys in football operations to change jobs a lot? I realize that a lot is determined by head coaching changes, but does it explain this much change? I had the same question when I first looked at his BIO, but if you look at the timing of the changes, it was always following a coach...

We had a great day (except for the heat) and had no real issues with fans. One funny story- I was going to get another adult beverage in the second half when Carolina was making their comeback and I saw a lady wearing a UNC basketball shirt and she was READING A BOOK in her seat. That about sums up ...
