Re: September 7, 2024

On the lighter side, I spoke with a Clemson friend and avid football fan a few days ago and he didn’t even know who they are playing on Sept. 7. He is totally focused on August 31.

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread

When in Greenville last spring, I heard that Michigan (State) uses Fluor Field for “spring training”. Can anyone confirm?

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread

When your pitcher breathes into his hand to warm it up between pitches, that’s not good… but wait, that was happening at JMU.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

So as a followup question for discussion (that may create a firestorm)...
In the new environment, how much emphasis should be placed on high school recruiting???

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

I’m starting think we may possibly be in a “sweet spot”. As long as we are in a top tier G5 all of our games will be televised and we’ll be playing a solid tough schedule. Some p5 back ups that want to play & be on TV may consider us. Also JUCO & D2 starters will consider us attractive. Several year...

Greenville, SC. Would be great place for the tourney. On I-85 for easy access from north or south. Great town to visit!

The previous post is no longer correct. I suggest you go on FB to App State Alumni NYC for current gathering place.

Re: NYC App watch parties?

NYC alumni used to meet at House of Brews (on 42nd I think).
They had their own App menu!. That was back in 2018. Things may have changed since then.

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL

I've heard the athletic department offers tax guidance/assistance to athletes receiving NIL money. Is this true? (I think they receive taxable money). In the case of River Street Ale House that has a NIL deal with Joey, who pays the taxes? The deal could amount to a lot of money if students/alumni p...

Anyone know of a watch party in Hickory or Denver/Mooresville area?
Hoptown Brewing in Mooresville usually hosts the away games. Alumni owned
Hoptown is the gathering place for App LKN almuni chapter. It may be the only game on their TV screens and it will be full of App fans.

What game was it?

One of The Satterfield years the team just couldn’t get it together. Then about half way through a game (mid season), it was like someone turned on the lights and as I recall they ran the table after that. Does anyone recall when it was?

Re: 9/11

It's a little funny how an event like 9/11 shows your age. Y'all talking about going to class in college, I was in 8th grade social studies class when our teacher came in and told us what happened. We just watched movies the rest of the day while the teachers watched the TV. Now, I teach students w...

As I recall, we beat the Cocks last time we played them. It’s no big deal!
+ we put up 61 points on the holes last times we played them. It’s not time for “Woe is me”. It’s time for “We can do this!!”
