UNC fans are making it out like we think they're "Goliath". I'd love to smack them in the mouth on the field and run out of there with the "W"!
Agreed, not this 1 or 2 point victory, I mean 14 plus.

One last thought, and it's very important. When going down river don't ever, ever forget to bring an empty Gatorade bottle.

Re: Which App Player

What two teams played in the 2nd ever game televised on ESPN, and where was the game played? App vs Western Carolina, 1978, played in Boone...? Close. App vs. Western 1979 at Conrad. We won, of course. Are you sure it wasn't '78? Yep. Was there. Hard to forget their QB's name was Pusey. https://www...

Re: My Hiatus

In my paddling days (mostly whitewater kayaking but some canoe floats) we'd always joke that anybody could master a river in a boat but it took a real man to swim it. I'll bet they learned a lesson about tying down and waterproofing their gear...LOL. We always pack a "dry bag", I put mine in back o...

Which App player put his severed little pinky finger in his freezer?
He got his finger caught between two helmets coming together when we were playing Furman at Kidd Brewer.

Enjoy the trip. Spent a weekend on the Gauly many years ago. Not quite Boone/Watauga, but close.

Re: My Hiatus

How deep and "whitewatery" is the Potomac in this area for kayaking? We kayak The South Branch of the Potomac River near Springfield/Romney WV, just a "jump skip and holler" from Cumberland, MD. Due to the recent dry weather I'm not sure how high the river will be on Saturday. It's supposed to rain...

My Hiatus

With App having a bye week, effective tomorrow at 9AM through Noon Sunday I will be taking a hiatus. I will be off the grid in West Virginia (kayaking, camping, fishing, beer drinking, etc.) By the way, we catch mostly red eye, small mouth, blue gill, every now and then a trout - we throw them back....

Re: Fire him

took a while but I found this thread that I knew existed. Hope all of the Fire Roof guys go back and read the ridiculous comments that went on and on. This is completely different in my opinion and to say otherwise is folly. It took a while for Satterfield's FBS recruits to come up through the rank...

Re: Ted Roof Comments

I bet Drink didn’t realize they were given such short time to learn the schemes. I'm not sure about that, that seems to be something a head coach should be aware of. Nevertheless, if it is true that's something that would definitely anger anyone. Not saying this will happen, however, I would not be...

Speaking of things of beauty, like the returned on-side kick this past Saturday, who was the player that returned the kick off against Penn State last year?

Yes, my brain is drying up as well. Rusty is good friends with my brother and his family. Why I forgot to mention him in the beginning is beyond me. :)

Danny Triplett ,Travis Wilson , Andy Calloway ....
Just thought of another one, can't believe I missed him: Rusty Hicks

Rusty went on to start for App as a DB and Danny Triplett started at Clemson when they won their National Title back in 81 (I think that was the year).

Re: Fire Ted Roof

And I see those stats and if I’m an App State coach I’m embarrassed and pissed off. After watching the post game interview again, I get the feeling that Drink is embarrassed and pissed. I get this impression not so much from what he said, rather by observing his body language. He could not sit stil...
