Re: Mantoris "Manny" Robinson

Yes, all it takes is a simple online or social media search. He left for a position at The College of Charleston as Director of Player Development/Recruiting. No question, a pay cut in a support staff role but working with Earl Grant who was at Winthrop when he was a player. I don't know...since C ...

Re: Nick McDevitt to MTSU

McDevitt did amazing with what he and the program had to work with! Close to the worst budget in the Big South conference, awful assistant coach salaries, no full time Ops position yet, having to play a certain amount of guarantee games....but yet still found a way to continue the success put in pla...

Re: Penn state hotels

Not many quality hotels for any reasonable rates at this point in the State College area....my advice is to stay at a nice hotel in Philly, enjoy a Philly cheese steak, run the steps like Rocky.

I’m told his departure from Woodruff had to do with the superintendent. His cornbread isn’t done in the middle.
Care to elaborate more? That statement I have never heard before.

Re: Matt McMahon

Cobb said when hiring Capel that he had "life experience" that was one of the factors. Cobb also said he felt the players wanted Capel, which turned out to be completely untrue. Heck, Buzz thought McMahon was the guy. He announced Capel for his UNCW staff and not Matt, then reversed course when Cob...

Re: Matt McMahon

I think the question is actually why we didn't hire him over Capel. That was the horrible decision that resulted in a rift. I don't think Matt would have been interested in working under Cobb after that (based on rumor). Fox has done a lot of positive things. I understand the frustration with the o...

As I recall, I think the old Holiday Inn (where Lowes is now) was full service. All I really remember about it is a place called “The Alpine Room”.🥃😎

Yes. They had good steaks and a good Sunday lunch.
As did the buffet at the Broyhill Inn!

Re: TONIGHT BB GAME

Without Cobb McMahon may be our coach right now. That is painful to think about the last 8 years. Cobb had chances to get it right, no disrespect to Coach Fox, as I hope he does well. He at least gets along with those in the community and has made attempts to connect with many. Previous regime, not...

Re: Full Service Hotel

99% of collegiate football teams stay 1 hour away to play Clemson. They all stay at the Greenville Marriott right off the interstate. Staying 30 minutes to 1.5 hours is common place for football teams. Georgia Tech is only team in around 7 years that has not stayed at that particular Marriott, becau...

Re: Full Service Hotel

The Courtyard Marriott serves the majority of basketball teams as they have certain full service needs and allow outside caterers to come in to provide food. Most football teams need larger hotels, hence the Best Western of Banner Elk....most football teams do stay at least 30 minutes away. Football...

Re: UNCC fires Price, Fancher interim coach

Fans are apathetic to basketball at App. the apathy began, became ingrained and was cemented under....Houston Fancher. No, apathy definitely did not. Do not speak unless you know facts. Players and staff had great relationships with the students and community. That continued under Buzz for 1 season...

Re: Should we ever actually consider moving games back to Varsity Gym?

You need people who have a connection to App to drum up the attendance. It isn't a difficult solution, but some don't want to go the extra mile or put in the maximum effort to assist the basketball attendance. Yes, a winning product helps but even back in the 2009-2010 season that culminated with a ...

Re: Hudspeth hates coming to Boone

It might not bring enough revenue but a full service Marriott at the old hospital property across from Lees-McRae would be nice or a Hilton Garden Inn on some of the land that to my knowledge is still clear near the ABC store in Boone. Hilton Garden Inn properties are full service, Courtyard Marriot...

First, congrats to Coach Fox, staff, and team on the win over Davidson! Keep up the good work! Second, Houston Fancher is a solid coach, but an even better person off the court! For those that have absolutely no clue, he is a true family man, that always had a family atmosphere within his programs a...
