I don’t have a clue what we have right now and anyone that says they do is lying to themselves.
I know one thing about what we have: 92 players listed on the roster on the site.

Other than that, not a clue. 😁

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

I just wanted to put a thought out to the others on this board. This past weekend we witnessed the greed of (mostly the family of) a QB from UT that had already signed a huge deal to play for UT. Let me be clear..... I hate the way college Athletics have gone in this NIL era. But, what we are witne...

Revenue sharing is apparently the way forward.
The only thing missing is the revenue.
There’s revenue, but hardly any profit…in most cases it barely, if it even does, covers current expenses.

Revenue sharing is going to hurt. Profit sharing less so.

Re: App State moves up to R2 Carneige Classification

Wonderful news, and on top of that the nursing dept will start a DNP program in fall 2026. That’s going to be big for the region.

Throw a stone if you've ever turned down a job offer paying 25% more.
What if I turned one down that payed 50% more. Bigger stone?
I left a job and took a 25% pay cut because it was a cooler job. Equal stone to turning down a job offer of 25% more?

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

Feels like the Assistant budget is being used to hire MORE coaches. We seem to have more analysts than ever, which is a strategy I really like. Helped UL….. Enables more in depth areas of focus, scouting and then feedback. More in line with modern staffs. Is it confirmed that Loggains will be servi...

Re: Interim Chancellor

At first, I was annoyed with the emails from the Chancellor…until I read them. Then I got increasingly excited to hear about the progress App was making and the support App was providing to the community (and the impact of both!). I realized the reason I was initially annoyed was because I never rec...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

Grad Transfer visit tagged Allen Mogridge in the post. Guess he's the OL coach? Unless he coached him previously. Maybe I missed this in the tons of posts though as well. https://x.com/coachmogridge https://appstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/allen-mogridge/ His hiring was posted on t...

It didn’t work well for Atlanta Falcons before Super Bowl either.

Bojangles or bust. However, there are good Bojangles and bad Bojangles. You get a bad Bojangles and it can ruin your experience and cause you to incorrectly think that there is other better chicken options. One caveat, I don’t do bones like some of you. I’m a Cajun Filet Biscuit with seasoned fries...

Re: Judge says JuCo years don't count vs NCAA eligibility - Aguilar, K-Rob returning?

So if JuCo no longer counts against eligibility:

2 years JuCo
4 years NCAA

I’m sensing a new way for players who have a bad first year to get some experience before getting back into the portal.

Re: Dowell Loggains

Recruiting nowadays isn't like it used to be. You still have very good recruiters & such but the majority of the work is now determining who to recruit & how to utilize the NIL funds available to recruit new guys into the fold while still being able to retain the needed guys already in the fold. Co...

Re: Dowell Loggains

Why is this hire such a shock to so many? Was it the best we could do? Well, yes probably so, because in 5 years we have gone from being a G5 power to a G5 that loses more than they win. This year we downgraded from average to below average. Guys with big names and stellar resumes also have the lux...

One thing I do like: he’s got something to prove. Can’t be easy being a coordinator for 20ish years without a shot to prove you can be a HC.

I wonder who he’s gonna bring onboard and what his plan is as a leader.

Color me hopeful, because that’s all I can be at this point.

If he has the network to hire a fantastic OC and DC, whom call the plays, I’m fine with someone like him, who has seen professional and P5 teams operate, playing as general oversight. If he has the connections and ability to recruit well, even better. But I'm also trying to look at the positive thin...

Re: DJ Smith

By all accounts he was a high IQ player and has experience as a player (all levels), been around successful people, and has recruiting experience. I would be excited about DJ. Would need a quality OC. So you want to hire a Co-DC who doesn't call the defense. App is also interviewing two OC's who do...

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...

There may be no realistic coaching options for 2025, considering the treatment of one of our own... Plenty of universities have fired an alum that wasn’t performing to its standard. Northwestern, Boise, and New Mexico did it last year. Fresno and Ball State did so this year. It’s not uncommon for a...
