Re: Parking South Alabama
It's Homecoming so crowd might be a little larger than usual but parking will be plentiful. Unlike the bowl game, parking inside the gates is for USA season ticket holders only. Several options for parking: Shuttle from JC Penny - Bel Air Mall. It starts running 4 hours prior to kick and 90 minutes ...

Re: DG Bowl Attendance
What was up with the young women in the colorful hoop dresses? I never heard the stadium announcer mention them as they were on the field. Why did they sit behind our bench on the concourse (like what we need to add at KBS after the track is removed) for the first half? They are Azalea Trail Maids....

Re: Fan HQ, unfortunately not at The Alchemy
Serda's just opened so I can't review but have heard good things. It's about a 10 minute easy/safe walk straight down Dauphin Street from team hotel. It's a good bit down from the parade route/pep rally so I wouldn't necessarily make it a "meet up" spot Friday night but definitely an easy place to v...

Re: Fan HQ, unfortunately not at The Alchemy
TP Crocmiers is just fine. Very spacious and has a large balcony overlooking Dauphin Street. It's right in the middle of the entertainment district and easy walking from all downtown hotels. If you don't like it, Alchemy, Loda Bier Garten (tons of craft beers on tap) and other bars are just steps aw...

Re: Where is everyone staying in Mobile?
All downtown hotels have availability and looks like team hotel has lowered price - if you can do it, I'd definitely stay downtown where you can walk/shuttle to everything. Driving into and parking downtown especially Friday afternoon/evening can be tough Renaissance - $154 Admiral - $99 Quality Inn...

Re: Tailgating, Bars, App Flags and Mardi Gras parade
"I heard the parking lot at the stadium was very small. One MMB/Cabin poster (MobileBama I think) suggested tailgating on Dauphin Street and taking one of many shuttles to the game" It's not that it's small, there's just not much to do. You'll just be sitting in a parking lot surrounded by a neighbo...

Re: Tailgating, Bars, App Flags and Mardi Gras parade
"where best to watch the Mardi Gras parade" Anywhere along Bienville Square downtown Monkey Bar Hilton Garden Inn Battle House bar Candlewood Suites I wouldn't watch outside the team hotel as it's the very end of the parade route and will be packed. Most riders will have unloaded their throws by the...

Re: Where is everyone staying in Mobile?
Hilton Garden Inn downtown on the square is a brand new hotel. On parade route and right in the middle of entertainment district with nice restaurant/bar patio overlooking square. Good option if you can't get into team hotel or Battle House http://hiltongardeninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/alabama/hilton...

Re: Mobile, AL questions
MobileBama, Looking at Google Maps it looks like the team hotel is across an interstate... Is that right? If so, what is the best way to get over to the other side to see the parade, pep rally, and bar hopping? I assume the team hotel is the Renaissance Riverview Plaza? If so, the parade runs right...

Re: Mobile, AL questions
MobileBama - my party is staying near the interstate at Spring Hill Suites (my hotel of choice). Are there places to park on Saturday in the downtown area at a reasonable price? Any suggestions? I guess we will park in the $20 lot for the game. Also, how far is the battleship area from downtown? Th...

Re: Mobile, AL questions
If you're bringing kids, make sure they bring bags or backpacks for the Mardi Gras parade. They'll catch a ton of beads, moon pies, stuffed animals, etc. It's a first class Mardi Gras parade with floats from parading societies. It's definitely the highlight of the bowl experience. Here's a cool vide...

Re: ASU Hangout Bar
I have no personal affiliations with any bars or restaurants. I'm 37 y/o born and raised in Mobile graduated from Alabama in '03 so not too far removed from the downtown nightlife. Alchemy checks off all boxes for a "meet up" bar. Spacious, awesome craft beer, centrally located, outdoor patio, upsta...

Re: Mobile, AL questions
Where is the stadium in relation to downtown and what attractions/landmarks should one visit? It's about 5 minute ride but not walking distance. Parking inside the gates is first come first serve. There is nothing near the stadium. Get in and get out. Tailgate on Dauphin Street. Make sure to eat a ...

Re: Where is everyone staying in Mobile?
MobileBama—from these places, any thoughts about the best App hangout? We need to pick one: Loda Bier Garden, Hero's, The Bicycle Shop, Alchemy Tavern, Haberdashers, Blind Mule, Merry Widow, TP Crockmeirs. Thoughts?? Alchemy Tavern - space, location (right in middle of downtown), craft beer. Oklaho...
