Re: Visiting Boone

"Masks have been shown to be effective in reducing the transmission of the virus, and we should take this small step to try to protect the employees in Boone businesses, Boone residents and our visitors." There are many studies out there and many are suggesting that masks are not the "end all be al...

Re: 247 Preseason Top 25

This is just a top 25 most 247 subscribers with a few token G5 thrown in. They have the typical preseason top 25 teams that inevitably end up 7-5 or worse. I can't work up being too offended.

Re: La. Tech AD talking trash

this guy looks like the kind of guy that doesn't have time to do a risk analysis. CUSA is a more unsustainable model than the sunbelt. If common accord cannot be reached among the teams, and this becomes a war of attrition, its going to get ugly for everybody but CUSA will be losing more money faste...

Re: Latest Boone visiting restrictions

are they actively trying to kill all the tourist business's that even made it through the last two months? This seems like a terrible knee jerk reaction to the wilkes county meat packing plant. Especially in light of the new CDC guidelines that have the CFR @ .4% for symptomatic cases. That's with 3...

Re: Appalachian State Flags

By that logic, I guess "Once an athlete, always an athlete". Good luck to the NCAA with inforcing that. They can't even manage improper benefits at these schools with current athletes. At least it's nice to know App is by the book, even if that "book" is flawed in many ways. yeah it sucks that we h...

Re: UNC and NCSU announce plans

Has it been confirmed that heat and humidity in fact make a difference? I ask because Latin America and Brazil are seeing a surge in new cases. Sadly, those countries are in no way prepared for what they're in for. We (USA) have already responded to Brazil's SOS with a shipment of medical ventilato...

Re: Schools

The article on Liberty said initially it had been reported that there were 12 cases but only 1 turned out to be covid. And the contact on that 1 was not school related. It's interesting only in that it proves returning to campus is possible. Which means returning to Football is also possible, which...

WHO scientist as reported by BBC.

I tend to not trust pan-Government orgs, but my take is that WHO have been quite conservative in their approach to school/children and such.

Re: Schools

A lot of the research coming out suggests that most children are at very low risk for contraction and not even really vectors of the disease. Of course, we're still very new into this, so having a few extra months for data collection and analyzing will be nice for administrators and officials to mak...

You should watch “Sunderland til I die” on Netflix. Aside from being a pretty interesting sports documentary, it follows Sunderland for two seasons. Prior to the first season they were relegated from the Prem to the Championship and Season 1 follows their battle in the lower division/financial woes...

Re: 4 Star Commits to Charlotte

Charlotte is taking a risk, but as long as they are using legit tools to get the kid eligible, I don't really have a problem with it. There are plenty of programs out there doing this all the time. On a personal level, I hope he is able to take advantage of the opportunity given him and get it done...

https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Tykieast-Crawford-105770/RecruitInterests/ Anyone know the story here? How in the world did a guy from Texas who has offers from multiple SEC schools decide on CHARLOTTE? word from CSNBBS was he couldn't qualify anywhere, even the SEC. Looks like Arkansas was the o...

Re: Michigan game rewatch

I completely agree with that talent and depth assessment. We had to use key starters on special teams. Brian Quick was on the line for the FG (thankfully). We had a few guys catching passes who would not even see the field now. Obviously a few guys were FBS quality but for the most part not even cl...

absolutely.

Does anyone know if this also could be a situation where he is just seeing what other kinds of fit are out there, and if something that fits his needs isn't out there he comes back?

Re: App vs ECU getting bumped

I certainly wasn't questioning whether the "bump" was happening. I'm just saying we are probably getting paid something in order to move the game. Generally, to change a contract would require some sort of consideration be given to the parties, or that there be agreement on some basis. Maybe it inv...

*A distraction from the Liberty talk* One of the best to ever wear the Black & Gold has an opportunity to add a Super Bowl ring to his collection on Super Bowl Sunday. While he is out with an injury, it would be great to have another App bring home a Super Bowl Championship. He has been a solid con...

Re: Who stays, who goes?

My understanding is Jones and Gaspo were going to be co-DC. However, when Gaspo's mentor called and was able to offer more $ to be a position coach, he took the opportunity. I believe if it wasn't Woody that called, Gaspo wouldn't have taken it. He's had multiple offers for more pay and stayed. It'...
