Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Per South Carolina 24/7 (so you can trust it): South Carolina has five former players who are scheduled to visit Appalachian State this weekend. QB Dante Reno, DB Emory Floyd, OL Kam Pringle and the Porter brothers. They're all scheduled to visit there. Porter brothers are DL and LB for reference. ...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
I am not really sure what the big deal is. Your school is your school. Things may change, but it is still your school. The changes are for everyone not just Appalachian. So, if everyone has to play by the same rules the system is fair. I would say that the system is fairer now than it has ever been...

Re: UCLA football
Vol board is mostly happy to get Joey. They think Heup can help him with picks.i may have to make a vol game this year. All coaches think they can correct issues with a player. He must think that Ponce and Clark are awful coaches to believe he can correct it in the SEC while they could not correct ...

I think Joey is just one of those guys you have to throw in a game to see what you got.
Remember he didn’t outperform burger according to our coaches.

Hopefully he has a signed contract from the NIL collectiveAppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 4:17 pmDon't feel bad for Joey. He is going to make 1M to sit on bench, if he stays at UCLA and that is 1M more than he would have made had he pursued the NFL.

It’s been great to see (knock on wood) most are staying with the team this season, a nice change over last season!

Re: Rays potentially moving to raleigh/carter Finley complex
The good thing is a precedent has been set to play a couple seasons in a minor league park. Problem is, the current AAA stadium is probably where the MLB stadium would have to go Uptown. Not sure of any parcels big enough in Uptown. Maybe you re-develop the Brookhill Neighborhood in Southend (Remou...

I don’t drink any soda but I’ll occasionally have an unsweetened tea when it’s hot out. I’m eagerly awaiting the official beer of App State sports though

Re: The Tournament….
1st time since 1975 that only 4 conferences have been represented. No surprise it’s the power 4. Consequences of the transfer portal and nil. Now when ratings go down due to less Cinderella's (the real power behind the zeitgeist of the tourney) they will use it as justification to cut out more mid m...

Re: Finally a spring game
Deion suggesting a spring game with an actual opponent. Would like NFL model.. practice a few days with opponent and then spring game. I like this idea. Would generate some revenue and The Mothership would be there to pay as college bowling is not getting the ratings 🤣🤣 I'd be careful about these- ...

I’ve been told that it’s apparent to many that Gill is more interested in promoting himself than the conference and its members . No one I talk to has anything positive to say regarding his job performance. unfortunately in the corporate world I've found that asskissers often do better than people ...

Re: UNCC Mayo Kickoff game now Friday
Yes the AD needs to read the room. If we were coming off a 10 win season and this was a marquee opponent, go ahead and maximize revenue.
We had a lackluster ‘24, fired our coach and it’s UNCC.

As an example, JMU is a good educational institution amongst our peers. However, they have a program called “The School of Professional and Continuing Education”. What is that? You tell me because their website is a bunch of jargon. It looks like filler classes to me. https://www.jmu.edu/pce/index....

Re: 2025 App BB Transfers
Basketball is more extreme than football. You can’t look for players who want to stay multiple years. You have to look for the players who will give you the best chance to win on a yearly basis. With the limited spots, we can’t afford to have players on scholarship who are not viewed as a piece of ...

UNLV does not live up to nil promises to players...now they may not be able to pay their new coach UNLV is presumably eager to build on its best football season in history—but in true Las Vegas fashion, the Rebels will need cash to cover their latest gamble. The school can only cover the first two ...

Charlotte is not a great example. Charlotte had no rivalries before. They are in their infancy as a program in grand scheme of things. I'm referring to their basketball program when it was booted from CUSA (for not having football). If App loses to UNCC in Football, that will create an instant riva...

Re: ACC
App is a big market team in a small market town. Granted that is what makes it appealing to us, it’s lacking in logistical appeal. It’s remote from any decent size airport. The town infrastructure isn’t quite set up to accommodate crowds that would come with the expansion of KBS. Not to mention ava...
