Re: Bowl Games

Oh I know how this plays out and I disagree with the practice, Tepper shakes down the city to pay for his stadium increasing the value of the team he owns (after he moved the team HQ to SC nonetheless).

Re: Bowl Games

Football in the south shouldn't be played in a dome. The city of Charlotte and state of NC shouldn't be taxed to build a stadium owned by the franchise. Tepper has $11B to spend and studies don't conclude stadiums bring in additional revenue to the city. Certainly not incremental to the current reve...

Re: Bowl Games

I'd like to hit Boca Raton, Cure Bowl, and Myrtle Beach once each. Long-term, we need bowl tie-ins in: ––Charlotte ––Atlanta ––D.C. ––Charleston SC. If David Tepper & Dan Synder can get the domed stadiums they want 2 bowls in DC/Charlotte/Atlanta would be better for everyone than bowls in Mobile & ...

The bank is included for fire code purposes. Deck space is included in summer pool capacity calculations.

Bank space will be included.

March 1st - May 27th - follow CDC guidelines they have the most accurate and complete data set. May 27th - CDC data shows the virus isn't as nearly as deadly, especially for those without preexisting conditions and under 45. May 28th - the CDC can't be trusted. I've seen goal posts moved before, but...

Re: Clemson's plan for football

There are ~7,000 season tickets sold each year. I believe you could spread those out (with two-three seats in between) pretty well in the upper decks. Box seats just assume those people are all together so no issue there. The rub is going to be the club seats, you can't spread those out as easily, a...

Re: Bowl Games

I agree I doubt we ever get picked for NOLA, also throw Mobile with the 5th pick in that never again group. We're staring at Boca in a great year and Myrtle, Montgomery, Orlando in the good years. GS, and GA St. could get those plus Mobile ULL, Ark. St., Texas St., USA, Troy get the NOLA, Dallas, Fr...

Re: Clemson's plan for football

One option: - An allotment that goes to Season ticket holders (upper levels). - Another allotment goes to students based on a lottery system, no guest tickets unless tickets are unclaimed. - if room in upper sections, go to half season ticket packages. I assume three seats in between season ticket h...

Re: App cutting multiple sports

Universities have forgotten the purpose of college athletics. Today less students have an opportunity to turn their athletic abilities into an education. The rising costs of education shares part of the blame as well. The Yosef Club donations have grown well over the rate of inflation for the past 1...

Re: UNC and NCSU announce plans

Schools and organizations are learning more and more about this virus, better data on who is at risk, and the severity of those risks. CDC data estimates for mortality and hospitalizations are much lower than discussed the first couple of months. Simple math of cases and mortality rates of 4-6% the ...

Shift UAB and USA to CUSA and that's the most likely situation. Don't want to split the CFB payout 14 ways.

Re: ECU among the growing number of institutions faced with eliminating one or more sports

If you added AAC teams to the mix of possible members (I know that it isn't):

Cincy/Marshall
ODU/ECU
App/UNCC
GS/GA St.
Troy/UAB
UCF/USF

Would be a great east coast conference.

WSJ article this morning suggests that Liberty may have provided a template for returning this fall with bringing students back this spring. If we can get past "it's Liberty". They said that too. Mix of live and online classes and only 1 covid case that was traced back to be not school related. I d...

Re: ECU among the growing number of institutions faced with eliminating one or more sports

The cost of attending is the problem. With increased enrollments we should see costs to run a university per student to decrease (or slower inflation). The dramatic increase is cost of attendance is hard to understand. The luxury dorms, bloated staffing, student centers that provide every service. ...
