Re: 2024 Roster Updates
I’d say we’re in the net positive column by quite a bit this offseason on the portal. Impressive stuff.

Re: New Softball Hire
Based on two interviews I've heard, I would welcome my daughters playing for her, on and off the field.

Re: Over/under Wins
BIgdaddy agreed, with one caveat, 10 wins most seasons isn't extremely optimistic. The reasonable range of outcomes most seasons is between 7-10 regular season wins. We go 3-1 more often than 2-2 in OOC games and anything worse than 6-2 in conference would be a below average year. I think most would...

Re: 2024 Schedule
ECU is a buffer game. ECU is a team that slightly worries me. They can't be worse than last year and Dowdy will not be an easy stadium to play in. I certainly believe we are the better team and have improved ourselves from the game last year but it will be tough I think. Don't underestimate the Pir...

Re: NCAA and Prig5 anti trust settlement
If I’m a P5 school and they allow 100 scholarships, my strategy would be grab 85 and leave 15 to flex and poach developed and proven talent from schools I know that can’t match what I can pay. I’d also limit HS recruiting, probably shift down to around 75% of what they typically go after. That would...

Re: Over/under Wins
USA on a short week will be our first tossup game and set the tone for a though start to conference play (USA, Marshall, ULL).

Re: Over/under Wins
They play Grambling, Kennasaw St, Tulane, Wake, easily OOC schedule. Also they play the west, CCU, and us in conference. We get IMO the two of the three favorites in the West ULL and USA. I am glad we avoid Texas St.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2024 4:25 pmExplain UL at 8.5 and App at 7.5. This isn’t two years ago.

Over/under Wins
FanDuel has posted under/over wins for SBC schools:
8.5 - JMU, Texas St, ULL
7.5 - App
6.5 - Ark St, Marshall, Troy, USA
5.5 - CCU, GS
4.5 - GA St, ODU, S.Miss
1.5 - ULM - ouch
7.5 seems low for us.
CCU, S Miss, ULM look like good over bets.

Re: NCAA and Prig5 anti trust settlement
Labor moves where there are incentives. The trend of top players leaving G5 for P4 programs is only getting started. We got a bigger taste of that in basketball this offseason. Buckle up fans.

Re: NCAA and Prig5 anti trust settlement
The stars are a reference to the backpay calculation. In its current state we are set up as a breeding ground for our players to be stolen after they are proven. That is not a place where success (as defined competing for a CFP) can be achieved. I would love for there to be a set of bylaws to level ...

Re: NCAA and Prig5 anti trust settlement
I read the payout will be based on snap count and recruiting stars, what a silly metric, meaningless stars.

Re: NCAA and Prig5 anti trust settlement
I’m going to admit that my YOSEF Club donation are pretty much about spending entertainment dollars. Don’t get me wrong I love App and I love football. But as this gets more and more absurd it just turns me off to the whole thing. I’m not ready to do it just yet but in the future I can see myself s...

We have some well-traveled fans on the board. What are your top five road game experiences win or lose and what are your worst five trips? Best: - Michigan - 1st National Title vs. UNI - South Carolina, in-laws hosted a great tailgate - Penn State, great fans even though we lost - First Bowl game vs...

Re: NC State series in danger?
It is my opinion that, just like South Carolina, NC State will never set foot on the turf at KBS. I hope I am wrong about that, but with the way the separation is moving, there will be fewer opportunities for such games. We just need to make sure that we get paid for the inconvenience until they fi...

Re: NC State series in danger?
Your comment is in regards to strength of opponent which would in fact be confusing the underlying sentiment what scheduling certain games means to the program. Your question is rhetorical, similar to why would we be excited to schedule an in-state power program? Per usual, you are wrong in your as...

Re: NC State series in danger?
Other than UTk all of those would be a step down from NC State. But I'd take a home and home with any of them as a consolation. Interesting that you think that. State hasn’t been historically better than any of those teams except for Vandy. You are confusing SOS with an inclusive look at the impact...
