Re: Another domino has fallen NIL
Plus - he has never been the standout player that UT hoped for. Last year UT made it to the playoffs with defense - not Nico. He disappeared when they needed him the most and the coach changed from the no huddle fast paced offense to a much slower offense - to help Nico. I currently live in Knoxvill...

Re: Another domino has fallen NIL
I still believe this is far from over. Will it change? Probably - however, will the top 1% be able to sustain dominance? Who knows..... College sports have always been supported by the underdog. Everyone will get tired of the same schools year after year - being in the championship game. There is so...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - IN
Question - I have noticed only a few lineman from the TP and only maybe 1 in the recruiting class. Is that ai sign that the new coaching staff believes we have the lineman we need? Or, are we just not able to secure any starters of depth.

Re: A sobering reality we are going to have to face
Interesting conversation. A lot of great points of view and more questions than answers. With the athletes as the focal point and recipient of the NIL and very loose rules of the transfer portal - they could be eroding the very mechanism that is supplying the opportunity. It will be interesting to ...

Re: DJ Smith
this hire would make me really nervous...no hc experience...not an offensive coordinator...makes no sense to me...history has shown with G5's finding an offensive coordinator who can hire the right DC has great success Agree - offense is key for us. I am also for the offensive minded coach - with a...

Re: What’s Your Plan
To the original question - on December 2nd I will prep for the holidays and getting a few days of fishing into the schedule. And... get ready for next season - changes or no changes. I will pull for App no matter what the decision is on Clark or another aspect of the program.

Kinda of hard to get excited about the 2025 schedule based on the 2024 on field performance. Hopefully we start trending in the right direction.

Re: East Carolina fires Mike Houston
If (and I am not making an argument on a buyout of not) a buyout is needed, and we do not have, or cannot afford to pay $500k or $1m to move on - we have a lot bigger issues than wins and losses. I believe we have 20k in students, a high level education and historically robust athletic department th...

Re: Candidates
With SC - maybe it is just not a good fit for App at this time. Sometimes in life no matter how much effort you put into any project - it just does not work out. It has happened in my career. When things do not work out - sometimes change is needed. I believe SC will have a very long and successful ...

Re: Emotions vs. Analytics
We do need to remember that we are talking about 18 to 22(or more) year old's trying to navigate growing up, college, football etc.... It is a lot for all of them. Win I was at App - my biggest decision was the brand of beer for the night!!

Re: The cancer on this program is
FYI - I do not like the "cancer" headline - to close to reality. Anyway - we can go around all day on this - bottom line - we have not done enough to move the program forward over the years. Other teams have closed the gap and passed us. We have always lacked creativity and on and off the field. I r...

Re: @ULL
We could do better on misdirection and pre-snap movement. Some creativity could help. Our coaches are - or should be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the team. All teams have strengths and weaknesses. The good teams navigate around them - and are still successful. We are not doing that. If a...

Re: Marshall..?
None of this is personal. It is wins and losses. i have state before - we produce the same team year after year. We do not seem to improve year to year. I certainly do not have all the answers. However, sometimes the a good choice does not work out. Any good organization makes changes as needed. App...

Re: Worst I’ve ever seen
One of my staff played football at Mizzou - many years ago. He is an insider with the program. From his view - they are winning and Drink has moved the program forward - however, he is not sold that Drink is some sort of genius - great recruiter and has been able to "get out of the way" and let the ...

Re: Worst I’ve ever seen
Rankings are only projections, however, this year we beat an FCS school - a so so ECU team, and have been run over by Clemson and USA. We have not shown enough in 4 games to be viewed any different. We need to show our product on the field to make any progress on rankings.
