Re: Orlando Sentinel

And it looks like we missed their write-up on Troy: #39, a few spots above WF and just behind Toledo (?). (No mention of our outright slaughter of Toledo in the DG Bowl, in case you were wondering. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college-football-rankings/os-sp-college-football-rankings-toledo...

Re: Am I deluded?

I’m as big a homer as anyone....but I said earlier Franklin is the best coach App has ever faced including Smart and Richt. Penn State is the epitome of blue collar football. I’m not sure we match up favorably at any position. We don’t win even if we are turnover and penalty free. Best coach ever? ...

Re: Am I deluded?

I am weirdly optimistic, too, but the harsh reality is that Penn State should be very very good. Very good. Trace McSorley is by most accounts the best QB in the Big 10, and while Saquan moving on to the NFL is no doubt good for us, the remaining RBs are upperclassmen ready for their chance to shine...

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

I have said this before and I still feel this way. I have no knowledge of the situation, only an opinion based on my interaction with him as a person and my own personal experiences. His daughter is entering high school this year and teenage girls don’t react kindly to change at this age. I have tw...

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

I mean, if we're quibbling over details, the article also says we beat Toledo 34-0 in the Camellia Bowl this past season. (Right score, wrong bowl.) And do we really think Chapel Hill is the big draw for Satt? I know he's from Hillsborough, but I guess I always assumed that NC State would be the mor...

Re: Penn State write-up at SBNation

I wonder if that is based on pure talent or thinking that being the first game of the year it plays to us a bit being a bit more unknown. I think Connelly uses the projected S&P+ rankings to determine win probability. S&P+ is based on recent history, returning production, and recruiting. https://ww...

Happy with the ranking, but “App has won 27 of its last 30 games”? Do they mean conference games?

I lived in Gardner and Bowie and my wife lived in Eggers. We wont have anything left when we come back. Both Bowie and Gardner were old when I was there over 25 years ago. I guess progress comes at the expense of memories.
They razed my dorm a few years back. My memories haven’t faded a bit.

Re: Roll Call- UNC-Harrisb...errr I mean UNC-Charlotte

I really want to crush these guys. I went over on Niner Nation to see what is being said about ticket sales, and the amount of stereotypes being slung around was nauseating. UNCC is a good school that all of us could have attended if we wanted. We had our reasons why we did not. I would assume it h...

Re: Sporting News early Bowl picks

Maybe they meant State, not Southern. I thought that at first too, but State loses a lot on both sides of the ball. Bill Connelly, who does about as fair a deep dive as anyone who looks at all 130 teams, predicts State will take a step backwards in 2018, though his longer term outlook is positive. ...

Re: Tubby Smith to High Point

HPU is building a new basketball arena on campus. This was a no brainer as far as the next coach. There's little to no student support on campus for basketball. Soccer and lacrosse draw more students Help me understand High Point University if you can and or send me a link to a good article. As a r...

Got my master’s at USC and grew up not far from there. I’m very excited for this series. (Though I’m not even slightly conflicted. I hope to be there for all three games in my black and gold.)

Thanks for doing this, Big C. I'd imagine a great deal of time and effort goes into this on your part, but it's a really fun feature of each week and probably helps us all dig a little deeper into each matchup in the week leading up to the game. One of these years I'll manage perfect attendance. If ...
