Re: Final Football Prediction winners...

Thanks for doing this, Big C. I'd imagine a great deal of time and effort goes into this on your part, but it's a really fun feature of each week and probably helps us all dig a little deeper into each matchup in the week leading up to the game. One of these years I'll manage perfect attendance. If ...

Re: Bill C has his rankings out....

Interesting to see squads like CMU, FIU, and Akron so close to the bottom of the barrel after not-so-bad years. But I don't know enough about them to know what they gained and lost, and I give Bill Connelly a lot of credence.

I will be 43. If things go according to (my) plan my older kids will in school at App. I like it.
I read this and my honest thought was "43 seems pretty far away. Not old, exactly, but up there." And then ten seconds later I realized that I'll be 41.

Here's to getting better with age.

Re: Board of Governors

I wouldn't really say he's "from WCU." He was on their BOT, maybe due to the Asheville connection. He's been an attorney in Asheville for years, was mayor. I think he's from there originally, and has been on a lot of boards and councils in that region (Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, Asheville Area C...

Re: Game

The “our hearts weren’t in it” excuse is the biggest load of dung. No way Candle underestimated us. He knows Satt and he knows App and he had no intention of losing to us two years in a row. I don’t care for a second that some Toledo fans took this win for granted. There’s no way the team took it fo...

Toledo is legit. Woodside is top notch and Candle is a good coach.

But.

We’ve got healthy weapons and I can’t pick against our boys in the last game of the year.

Good guys win 38-31

Re: We need to create a new position!!!!!!!!!!

You won't attract many more people up the mountain with a losing team. You can however give incentives to students that attend. Their student fees aren't supplementing revenue lost...there isn't a high demand for tickets. Really, it's only the case for football. First 1,000 students get a free t sh...

Re: We need to create a new position!!!!!!!!!!

The only position that can fill seats in a consistent and sustainable way is head coach.

That’s not a knock on Fox or any HC. I’m just saying that you can have all the marketing in the world, but it’s the product on the court that matters.

Sun Belt faring well in bowls so far.

Troy takes out North Texas 50-30 in NOLA and GaSt looks poised to top the Hilltoppers in the Cure Bowl (27-17 with just over 2 min to play).

stAte hits the field in Montgomery in 2 hrs.

I hope Satt is here for years to come, but if we’re talking about possible replacements, I think Brian Bohannon from Kennesaw State deserves a look. They’re 12-1 so far and upset Jax State last night. And he built that program.

Re: Statement Win

I don’t know if it was their intent, but I’d imagine that this is the game a lot of us have been craving pretty much all season: A good old fashioned beat-down against a peer. The close games have been exciting, but we let pretty much everyone hang around too long, made mental mistakes, and paid for...

Re: Satterfield Interviews

All of the Florida schools that aren't UF or FSU seem like stepping stones these days. Which isn't bad for a coach, I guess, but Satt doesn't strike me as someone who has any interest in hanging out in Tampa or Orlando for two years, hoping for a better gig to come calling. At least not at this poin...

Sun Belt games today

Arky State at ULM is a madhouse. The Red Wolves just scored again, making it 57-43. The Warhawks had it down to a 6-pt game, but stAte answered quickly and got a 2pt conversion. It’s barely the 4th quarter. GaSo continuing to show end-of-season life, beating ULL 17-7 early in the 2nd quarter. NMSU b...
