Re: Attendence??

Also doesn't hurt that it's Drink's first game. I wouldn't be too surprised to see some ETSU fans make the trip either.

Re: Women's Soccer - Sarah Strickland

WSOC trails Radford 3-0 at the half. A regression record this year should result in a change Couldn't agree more. 0-2 start (not to hold Wake over your head since they're top 25, but stating a factual record). Duquesne and UNC-Asheville at home this coming weekend. Will most likely fly under the ra...

Re: App-branded Beer

If we are going to do it, now is the time. And I'll say it first!

I want my beer in a cup with ice!

Sorry, it's just a habit to respond that way when we discuss beverages in KBS.

Re: Women's Soccer - Sarah Strickland

They went 9-9-1 last year and 6-4 in the Sun Belt to finish 4th. That was following a 4-10-4 record the year before, 3-5-2 in conference to finish 8th. There’s not a ton of seniors so this team could be peaking in the next year or two. I’d say barring a complete collapse, Strickland is safe. In pas...

Re: Women's Soccer - Sarah Strickland

We do, but that's why I said "from the fan perspective." I just don't know if any other sport would've lasted at this level of mediocrity before a coaching change. DG has made good coaching hires so far, and I wouldn't hate to see our women's soccer be more successful. Maybe women's soccer is so far...

Re: Women's Soccer - Sarah Strickland

For reference, our Women's Soccer team hasn't won more than half of their games since 2012, in the SoCon, winning 10 of the 19 games played.

Women's Soccer - Sarah Strickland

Women's Soccer starts officially tomorrow night (8/23) and they've put up a staggering 0-0-2 record in exhibition games this year (WCU & ETSU). How successful does Sarah Strickland need to be to keep her job? Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the program has been stagnant at best and isn't far off...

Re: UL-L will require their football players to donate to the athletic fund in order to play football

I mean, I'm pretty sure App "strongly encourages" their athletics department employees to pay. Seems like you would get somewhat blackballed if you chose to not give, regardless of level of employment. Never really understood places where they pay you and then ask for you to give some of it back. St...

Re: Improving a tradition

Thanks for your blessing! This is the one and only idea I’ve ever sent Doug and I don’t get the felling it bothered him at all. He does after all invite questions from us in his “ask the AD” event. I’ll be in KBS on 8/31 and I’ll enjoy the day even if we don’t have ice and even if I here Sean Conne...

Re: Improving a tradition

How about the track, can we ask to have the track moved? I know I’m really pushing my luck but just one last thing, can we ask to lower the field so we can add seating? Track will be next year. Lowering the field... not anytime in the foreseeable future, according to Doug last time it was asked. Po...

Re: Improving a tradition

No offense to our band but the tunes they play are in need of an update. I highly doubt the players even know the songs they play anymore. Most are from 70s and 80s and they never get updated. Need some new material! That doesn't really make them different from most of the marching bands in the cou...

Check that new Disney subscription for those of us that have kids. It comes with ESPN+. 12.99 base package. I'm not sure when it will be available for purchase though.

Re: Improving a tradition

Does a band tune get them hyped up and going? Maybe, maybe not. Does the newest awful rap song get them going? Yes. Yes it does. Get the boys hype and let's see some good football. No offense to our band but the tunes they play are in need of an update. I highly doubt the players even know the song...

Re: Improving a tradition

In regards to when music does and doesn't get played vs. the band playing, I'm almost positive that the players have a little weight in this one. Does a band tune get them hyped up and going? Maybe, maybe not. Does the newest awful rap song get them going? Yes. Yes it does. Get the boys hype and let...

I want to be able to watch the games via ipad or phone if necessary.

I will consider keeping espn+ for ladies and mens basketball.
Good to hear. WBB is better year over year and I think we all hope Kerns can begin to put the MBB on the upward trend. Glad you're up for a fun year!

Re: Improving a tradition

It's threads like this that make me wonder why we even hire people do manage marketing and game atmosphere. Surely Doug Gillin, Spencer Bridges, John Welch and Suzette Mauney (well maybe not Suzette) can read our suggestions right? And then just go do it. It's simple. Read the cabin, go do your job...
