Re: ODU AD wants to blow up CUSA
I'm going to be real. I see the landscape changing drastically in the next decade and not because conferences will realign to save travel costs, but because schools simply won't be able to afford to keep spending what they are on athletics. First off, Cable/ Satellite subscriptions are down 10% from...

Re: U of Akron cutting school by half
I think this just shows that a lot of higher education institutions have been playing with house money and not worried about fiscal efficiency. The second that the revenue stream of students with massive loans dries up, the administrative bloat comes home to roost. Does a college need a full time de...

Re: Aaron Copeland
I like traditions at football game as it ties together the generations of fan but I was just listening to Fanfare for the Common Man by Copeland and that would make a very good kickoff song. At least the final few bars with the rolling drums coming on just as the kicker begins to run to the ball. I...

Re: Is it time to reboot?
Key thing right now for any non profit with a donor base (cough yc cough) or program that’s in hiatus, it to keep engaging their constituents and participants/donors. My boss had me make calls to my people with no goal in mind other than to see how people were doing and to ensure we are doing everyt...

I wanted to revive this thread because you guys can be full of stories and I need to read more than covid 19 stories. Out of boredom I’ve been reading more about the history of the region and didn’t know if any of you geezers had any experience with the Wooshies of Howard’s knob. https://appvoices.o...

Re: App State Cloth Reusable Face Masks (Image Included)
I emailed Rich asking about cost and quality of the masks. He promptly responded and here's his reply: Ed The masks are double layered high quality cotton masks. They are $10.00 a mask and right now with our production schedule they are prob 4 to 5 business days on the turn around time. If you want...

Re: App State Cloth Reusable Face Masks (Image Included)
I’m all for people trying to help and it would be my guess that this fabric isn’t going to hurt anybody, but I highly question the particle filtration and the size of the particles filtrated by some off the shelf fabric. It’s important to note Some fabrics work better than others. It’s good to remem...

I’m still working from my home office fundraising and working with volunteers remotely. I’ve set up an archery range in the backyard, made a new bow string for my recurve and have been trying to not loose too many arrows in the woods.

Re: 1977 Conrad Stadium
Any idea what year that video was made? The flood occurred in 1940. So I am guessing this footage was late 1930's. I think I have read about this on the internet and it gave a date. NC 105 into Boone mostly runs on top of what was once the railroad right-of-way. Yeah the video was fall/ summer of 1...

Re: All UNC System Universities Closed
Also, residence hall students, which I believe is like 40 percent of the student body, are being asked to stay away from campus, so Boone will be deserted next week. Sounds like next week is the week to have an ole Boone town throw down. My favorite weekends in Boone are non holidays when school is...

They try and score way too fast every time. Control and move the ball to find/ create the shot. They waste possessions on Shots a rec league coaches would be pissed their players took.

Re: Gillin AD of the Year..
Nope. He is a terrible AD and no one should ever even consider hiring him. Take it from me, It would be the worst hire is the history of AD hires for another school. Because he is such a bad AD it looks like we are stuck with him
