Re: 2013 MLB Draft

Coming into the draft I figured Marcello, Callaway, Zupcic, Nunn, Crespo, and Agnew-Wieland would be drafted. I would be shocked if we don't have at least 2 more and possibly up to 4 more taken. Let's just hope Agnew-Wieland and both HS picks taken will return and we should be pretty good next year.

Re: AppNation247 posts Full Pro Day Results

I really do think McCray is going to get drafted because of the workout. You don't find many 6'1 corners who can run with arms like him.

Yeah I think if Jeremy were say 6'0 he would definitely be drafted.

Interesting that 247 has them and Rivals does not but anyhow glad to see they got posted!

McCray had a good workout. He really improved from his combine performance. I'd just about bet he gets drafted.

Re: Coach Moore

Kidd, Duggins and Sparky were not nearly as important to App State as Jerry Moore has been. Erk, regardless of how long ago, was what put them on the map too. Considering Coach Russell orchestrated the birth of GSU football he deserves most of the credit for their success. Before holding the press ...

Re: Coach Moore

Sounds like our fans need a history lesson Appalachian football didn't start in 2005. I sure hope the fans that jumped on late stay. Agreed. It's sad that you can't praise the coaches before Jerry without some viewing it as an attack against Coach Moore. He did great things for many years, but Appa...

Re: SoCon Recruiting Class Rankings

I certainly agree and if the coverage does not pick up this year then I believe he should hand the site off to someone else. We should not have posters on here following social media and articles on players to get updates when people are paying someone at Rivals to do it. I think the best thing to d...

Re: SoCon Recruiting Class Rankings

I did not realize that about Brian but that certainly explains it. He always did a solid job in the past. Perhaps this year he will have more information. As for who offers them at our level that is not really important for a guy with no stars. Look at LeGree and Quick. They both had just one offer....

Re: SoCon Recruiting Class Rankings

First of all I hate recruiting rankings because nobody ever goes back and ranks them and while people say this is the best class we ever had, you never know. This should be a great class. I think we certainly got some players who are a level above what we usually get but it's obvious Varner did noth...

Re: Recruiting and Rivals Star ratings

One thing I'll point out at this level is that all of our NFL players had zero stars. It's better to have 4 and 5 star players and look at the offer list when you are FBS. However, for FCS and D2 schools your best players are going to be guys with zero stars for the most part. And someone mentioned ...

Re: Scholarships/New Recruiting Class

If this recruiting class is any good and we have a couple of guys who can contribute right away not only will this year be good but we should be pretty good the next 2-3 years. This team should win no less than 9 games in the regular season. It is a National Championship caliber team of which will b...

Re: ANY CHANCE FOR PRICE

I'll be surprised if anyone else wins it. The list was not narrowed down from 20 but I don't think another candidate is as good as him. The only other players I could see winning it is the Villanova QB or Southern Utah DE. Anyone else would surprise me big time and I don't think anyone is truly as g...

Re: Who would you like as the next Head Coach?

Good job of ignoring all the facts that relate to the issue being discussed. I don’t recall saying Scott doesn't love ASU, didn't do a good job last year, or he doesn't have any experience. Some of you need to get emotion out of the way and concentrate on the facts. The recently released communicat...

Report: @winthegame gets App State head coach job. Look for FBS invite to follow. And a true spread option QB signee after that. #SunBelt Very interesting, but pardon my ignorance...who is this Bennett guy tweeting this? I hope he's correct on all counts. I only want the Sun Belt if GSU comes and s...

Re: Recruiting, 2013

I was at the Shrine Bowl practice one day this week and I got some tidbits that may or may not have been posted here or on Rivals.com. McLawhorn was not there that I saw. He probably should have been if he wasn't. A few players we are definitely looking at trying to get are Rontavius McClure, Chocol...

Re: Who would you like as the next Head Coach?

Chancellor Peacock is out-of-town until tomorrow. Announcement will probably be made after he returns! I hope he's in Arkansas. Me too. With Horton we get so much and anyone other than him would not give App the best opportunity we could have. Pick Horton, affirm Scott to same position, move Dale J...

And if he doesn't get the job I see him leaving, despite everything else he has said about his passion for ASU. He wants this job, and probably feels he has earned it (note - earned not ENTITLED). Unless he really does love it at ASU and is willing to wait out the career of the next coach we hire. ...

Re: Who would you like as the next Head Coach?

Horton has wanted this job for 10 years. If he's offered, it could get real interesting to see it he wants small town life and northwestern NC or northwestern AK. :?: If Horton is offered the job he is going to take it. I know some folks who knew him well when he was in Boone and he will indeed tak...

Re: Recruiting, 2013

Yes. From what I was told people who scout HS football had to get in his ear and tell him his future is football. Unless I understand it wrong, we have offered him to come play both sports but using a football scholarship on him.
