Re: 1992 NLCS - Goalposts

“When Sid Slid” I still remember that vividly. He may be the slowest base runner of all time but he beat Bonds throw. A while back, MLB Network did a special with Bob Costas interviewing several key players from that World Series and Andy Van Slyke in CF tried to tell Bonds to cheat in a step or two...

Re: NEZ work today

During the final phases of construction of what is now Bank Of America Stadium, I had the opportunity to choose my PSL seats based on availability and of course budget in person with a tour. It was pointed out by the sales agent that the owner Jerry Richardson, chose to have his box above the end zo...

Re: Eddie Van Halen

Yes, thanks for sharing booneboy92. Been jamming to VH and Eddie all evening and reminiscing. Was tough losing other artists like Petty, Prince, Bowie and others from the glory days but this one hits home. Came to the conclusion that VH’s first album, tape, CD is the one that I have played more than...

Re: Eddie Van Halen

Will always be go to music to get me pumped up and the party started. Will never forget witnessing his “Eruption”solo a few years back in Charlotte when DLR was back and the jumbo screen zoomed in on him and his hands. Mesmerizing performance by a True Rock God.

Re: Bob Gibson Passes of Pancreatic Cancer

Mentioned this in another post but Bob Gibson was truly an all time great. Such and intimidating force on the mound and great big game pitcher. Also, played hoops for the Harlem Globe Trotters in ‘57-‘58 and was a roommate of Meadowlark Lemon when the trotters were more than just a show/exhibition t...

Re: Open Thread for Some Things

Also worth mentioning, Bob Gibson played for the Harlem Globe Trotters and roomed with Meadowlark Lemon in ‘57-‘58 which was a time when the Globe Trotters were more than just a “show/exhibition team.”The following season Wilt Chamberlain was a member. Kinda cool stuff.

Re: Open Thread for Some Things

RIP Bob Gibson! Very sorry to hear of his passing. What a pitcher and an intimidating one at that. Can’t help but think how he would have handled some of these bat flips??? Anyway, tough to lose one of the all time greats and for Cards fans another HOF’er following Lou Brock’s recent passing as well...

Re: Schedule is on-line

I too am excited for Coach Kerns 2nd season. Can’t wait to see this squad build off of last season with an exciting recruiting class that includes a blend of young talent and transfers that bring elements to strengthen the roster and its capabilities. I love that Kerns is engaging with the community...

Re: NEZ work today

The only blue line I see is the teal blue siding product that is still exposed from the unfinished brick work and trim around the top. Fortunately, the NEZ camera shows it’s getting some attention this morning and perhaps the blue will be gone by game time.

Re: NEZ work today

Wow. Kind of critical of the look before construction is complete. I mean they are in the build phase not the maintenance phase. Give things a chance, please! I’m sure pressure washing a few walls is not the priority while heavy equipment is navigating the area. Allow them to complete and put a poli...

US Open Golf will be broadcast on Golf Channel and NBC. Conference USA has their TV deal with CBS Sports Network as the Sun Belt has one with ESPN networks. The home teams networks preside over coverage. For the Sun Belt if the home game is not chosen for one their primary channels then the game def...

I really liked the shoulder stripes and thought it was unique to us. Hope they are incorporated in the future or other combinations. Looking forward to see more. No matter, it’s the players in the uniforms that will make them look great! Give’em Hell!

Sweet Lou! Just over 3000 hits and just under 1000 Stolen Bases. 118 SB at age of 35?! Are you kidding me! Baseball is not the same but it lost another good one within a week of losing Tom Seaver “Tom Terrific.” Two HOF’ers that did it right. RIP

Sorry, I don’t agree with you guys on PB. I think you are being a little harsh. It almost sounds like you haven’t heard or viewed anything he has done lately with his AppVision videos or DJ and Podcast work. He comes off polished and smooth to me. Maybe he speaks a little long for some with analysis...
