Re: Marcus Cox
A few possible players could be ADG, D’Marco Jackson, Demetrius Taylor, Noah Hannon, Chandler Staton, Thomas Hennigan. They were all near the tops in App history at their respective positions, depending which stats you looked at. The huge variable I should have stressed in my question is the portal...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
If you could go back in time, say 2005 & I tell you that House vs NCAA will pass & there will be a massive movement to compensate athletes, how much different would things be now? College athletics do not have a revenue generation problem, they have a spending problem. That problem was created over ...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
“Millions received” from NCAA… hardly for us. Drop the “s”… in FY23 we received $1.6M in NCAA distributions. Another $1.7 from the conference, which does NOT include NCAA distributions or Media Rights (media which was a paltry $241k). Have posted this previously, but there is very valuable informat...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
Just because the future is murky with a potential change doesn't mean it's not needed. We're all discussing this idea as fans of college football. I don't care how many lawyers must get involved. That's for the actual members that will force or put into action this idea to figure out. Let us not fo...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
The idea would be to make things better. Right now the NCAA has no guts. If you separate the NCAA jurisdiction over College Football, a commissioner could be created to navigate a new era...an era we're already in. Transfer windows, transfer rules, # of games, # of roster spots, practice regulations...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I agree with DOTE but in reality it is a crapshoot. Think of coaches and players alike. Player A ; a RS junior with very limited action at a major p4 contender. Has size, has frame, tape from HS checks out, but really only has practice tape from college. He comes to App State, board is excited. Out...

Re: DJ Smith DC
Having our cake and eating it too. A late Christmas present. Could we see Stepp back? Not sure what his relationship was with Loggains at USC. Might not be good since he was relegated to TE coach instead of WR/OC before moving on to Illinois. I could see it...but no idea. DLo is definitely going to...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
Jesus, yall can't even be nice about a young adult who gave his all during his time here in Joey. Yall still have to find ways to put him down and his choice to move to UCLA. I stand by a previous statement I made about who in the world would want to play for an online fanbase that shits on people ...

No chance this guy is in the portal because he has no idea who his position coach is, who the d coordinator will be, etc? We just jump to "Go on, get out! Your just chasing money!!!"

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
Maybe he doesn't want to leave but doesn't feel comfortable with his current situation. So maybe he is apologetic towards the fans. It's not like he signed up in the Portal day 1..

Re: Miami Hurricanes MBB Coach, Jim Larranaga stepping down
Yes, the changes in college athletics may be it's undoing in the long term in terms of holding fans...maybe or maybe not....time will tell.......however, I do see some hypocrisy with these types commentary by coaches, not just this coach. Coaches change jobs all the time whenever they get better op...

Per the Scoop, Dawsey is headed to Jacksonville State. Clark is headed to UCF. No word on anyone else yet.

Re: Dowell's assistants
The Scoop article says UNLV made an offer App State could not match. Mullen is getting paid $3.5M...they are making an investment in attempt to stay relevant in the new modern CFB world. They made a point with his salary. The highest paid MWC coach by more than double. The highest paid G5 coach in a...

Re: What are the "ugly truths" about the football program?
Loggains only knows NFL & SEC football as a staff member or player. I would expect the expectations & "care" factor to be increased by this staff. Even if he retains some, I believe we'll see a lot of the things fans want; spring game, more media availability, uptick in recruiting. The only differen...

Re: Dowell Loggains
Recruiting nowadays isn't like it used to be. You still have very good recruiters & such but the majority of the work is now determining who to recruit & how to utilize the NIL funds available to recruit new guys into the fold while still being able to retain the needed guys already in the fold. Coa...
