Our Friday night starter last pitched on Saturday and today is Thursday, so we’re looking at a two-day difference in his routine. Personally I’m OK with him going on four-days rest, but a lot of college coaches would rather not.
I forgot about the delay last weekend making it 2 days short.

Tuthill starting on the bump. Interesting. Wilson hurt?
I was wondering the same. Did he work his way into the weekend rotation or something else going on?

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

You can't compare to JMU but you can compare to a football team with 100 players?

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Do we actually pull scholarships now from guys that never develop enough to get significant playing time?

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

That's pretty painful to see, especially considering it doesn't show scoring lost due to graduation or other metrics (like blocks / rebounding).

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Who knows, maybe these guys asked Kerns if it is ok to test the portal with the understanding they will return if they don't get a big offer. Sounds weird, but the entire approach to talent retention has been turned upside down and what was normal in the past might not be normal in the future.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Plot twist: Kerns felt the team slacked off at the end of the season and told several guys they better find a new home lol

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Those of you saying people should still be just as invested because it's still the black and gold playing: when I'm trying to decide whether to make a 3.5 hour round trip drive on a Friday evening with two boys under 11 and one gets car sick and spend $100 to watch a game... That's going to be a "no...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread

Climb a little more throughout the year and we're looking at a possible at-large bid. The SBC is strong enough that we can easily improve our RPI. Need to start by sweeping Marshall, although 2 of 3 is most likely.

Hope we can sweep them. But at this point, we've already set program milestones in both of our first two series (first win at Texas State and first series win over Coastal).

Re: March Madness

We beat JMU by blocking all their early shots, forcing their game outside. Abson alone had 40 more blocks this year than the entire Wisconsin team.

Re: Donovan Gregory Appreciation Thread

It felt bittersweet watching the end of the Arkansas State game in Boone thinking it would be the last time I see him play in person. Then we got one more "local" game at Wake and that was definitely bittersweet because I knew for sure it was the last time!
