Play design is a science, play calling is an art. Hope our next OC has that artistic ability that I thought we lacked in '20.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 10:29 amI would just like a little creativity from our offense.

Opting out = quitting on your team
Expanded playoffs aren't a solution = 1-8 seeding probably 6 -7 blowout games based on history of the CFP? Does that help the sport?

Re: Peterson to Illinois?
Our losses were not 100% because of TP's play calling ability. Perhaps he wasn't the right fit at App State, but he was hired away from the program (perhaps it was mutual), not left on the curb. Just as Ted Roof was hired away from the program last year, after many felt that he was incapable during...

Re: CBS Rates First Year Coaches
The penalties that killed drives or extended opponents drives this year, some causing the difference in the ballgame, were frustrating, and that is a DIRECT reflection on the staff. A poster on the Peterson thread did a comparison of stats over this season and last season, it would be interesting t...

Re: Bowl streak
Guys Coastal had an AMAZING season. As a amazing as a season can be with a bowl loss. And they are tough...and should be next year as well. That being said...I hope we don't make a habit of comparing ourselves to Coastal Carolina. We've won 3 DIAA National titles, 22 conference titles, the 15th bes...

Re: App season, Sunbelt bowls and Common opponents
Not sure any of us could beat Cincinnati this year or Memphis last year, but would have liked to have played somehow? The SunBelt is up this year, APP was down - still a good year. imo - 2019 APPs were around 10 or so points better than APP 2020. The 2020 games we lost were all winnable the day we p...

Re: Decision Announcements
We signed a highly rated kicker out of WV I believe who may come in and compete. I'm always weary now of "highly touted kickers" after being burned by Rubino. Coming out of HS he was the #1 kicker in NC and that didn't work out too well. Same. Man how nice would it be for this kid to come in and si...

Re: Brice to App
There are absolutely zero negatives about Chase coming to Boone. We have a very talented and experienced QB coming into the QB room. We have some young talent already in the QB room and some great young talent on the way. Best case: Chase lives up to the hype, kills it, and the App train keeps roll...

Re: Brice to App
As long as our goal is to not just hand him the keys and we have him compete for the job, I think this could be good. I just dont want to see some Joe Burchette back there lumbering around in the pocket. After watching some of his film I can safely say Joe Burchette he is not. But, is he bett...

Re: Napier Turns Down Auburn
Somebody obviously dropped him on his head when he was born, foolish financial decision. I could not disagree more. A short term financial windfall possibility does not necessarily mean it was a bad decision to turn it down. It looks like to me that Napier might have been looking at the potential f...

Re: Napier Turns Down Auburn
Auburn is a tough job - you're always gonna be measured to Alabama, and you're likely to never be number one in the state. There's likely better jobs out there. In terms of fans, recruiting ability, facilities, prestige, etc, Auburn is easily top 10. They won a natty less than a decade ago. Thanks ...

Re: Sun Belt Game Cancelled
Our jealousy and envy are really showing up in this thread. For the record, I was all in on UL winning this game as they deserve it given their three run at the title. But, I think a lot of our fans are not happy that Coastal, for the moment, has eclipsed us and is getting the good coverage that we...
