Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)

I want to see Joey succeed and make the NFL. If he makes the NFL, that can be a selling point to App. Come to App for two years, do well to get looks from the SEC which can propel you to the NFL. Pulling for Joey to succeed is to also pull for the status of your own football team. I’ve been parroti...

Re: A positive note

I think everyone should have known we were in for a pretty significant rebuild this season, and expectations should have mirrored that (and it did for most people). The UNCC game maybe gave some a bit more hope than it should have, because it’s plainly obvious now that the niners are absolute garbag...

Can someone share the SBC NIL pool for football? Are we really last?
It’s not really subject to public accounting, so no one really knows. We have anecdotal evidence that some players chose other schools over App, with feedback that the offer was better elsewhere.

Re: So Miss discussion

I see it a different way. In a league of our peers we should have plenty of money to compete. It isn't like we are playing the SEC or ACC each week. We are playing very similar budgeted schools. It isn't all money. But we don’t have the money to compete. Every season there’s a couple of conference ...

Re: So Miss discussion

I’m baffled by you guys who simply throw out the blanket excuse of us not paying enough money. I’ve got a news flash for you. For an incredibly huge percentage of fans it’s not that important. So the sure fire way to get us to what, 9-3 and the Camden Bowl is to magically uncover $20m more in stupi...

Re: So Miss discussion

Honest question. What do we do then? I’d rather fold the team than win 4-5 games / season going forward. This is a completely non-smartass answer. We drop to D3. That’s where “true amateur athletics” still exists, and that’s what some of our fans want. Give em a merit scholarship, and let em play f...

Re: So Miss discussion

I don’t think we have the money to buy a lot of talent. Something tells me this is the new normal. You’re unfortunately correct. We don’t have the resources to compete in this world. This thread is proof of it I see it a different way. In a league of our peers we should have plenty of money to comp...

Re: So Miss discussion

And just to be clear, the opinions I’m sharing tonight are not new, nor are they in reaction to the Southern Miss game. I’ve felt this way for several years. The college game has changed, and I just don’t think we will have the resources to compete. I’ll still donate and do everything I can, but the...

Re: So Miss discussion

Year 5 vs. year 1. Not acceptable at any time, but there is a little bit of a difference. Not really. DL Bought a bunch of talent . That doesn’t really get to where used as an excuse anymore I don’t think we have the money to buy a lot of talent. Something tells me this is the new normal. You’re un...

Re: So Miss discussion

Remember when we wouldn’t stand for this a year ago?! The irony is Staggering To be fair, the cabinet was left completely bare. And we don’t have the money to buy an o-line because our fans are cheap as hell You're what's wrong with modern college sports. It shouldn't be about who can pay the most....

Re: So Miss discussion

All of our goals are in front of us. Please continue to accept mediocrity while we raise ticket prices, beg to be compared to the top 5 G5’s, and deliver a D- gameday experience by putting off-brand bandaids on problems. Remember when we wouldn’t stand for this a year ago?! The irony is Staggering ...

Re: So Miss discussion

How bad is Charlotte that we looked so good against them? I said that night I’m not sure how good we are but I know UNcC is terrible. I was right. I still don’t know how good or bad we are, because half the team is injured. I do know our receivers have a hard time catching wide open passes (but I c...

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)

I see the morons are back out in force Some insane takes in here Which ones, the people fawning over a player that presided over a mediocre season and a non bowl eligible season or the people calling about that this is an app state board and not a random UT board Check the folder. It’s called Other...
