Re: 2025 Men's Golf Mega thread

Plausible. If someone or group is bankrolling the team I could see that as the determining factor. I may have shared the story of when we were offered ownership of a golf course at no cost, if we would maintain and operate it . The Chancellor at that time , passed on the deal although the analysis ...

Re: 2025 Men's Golf Mega thread

Our competitiveness is hurt by lack of commitment to facilities and the fact the teams have to travel off the mountain to practice November- March. Rest assured, the athletes on both the men’s/women’s teams represent our university with outstanding character and academic standards. If we had the mo...

Re: Loggains - GoFGs interview

I bet he name dropped all those contacts during the recruitment process, didn't hurt so far. One of his biggest strengths before he coaches one down is his rolodex. He's leveraging that in these interviews. Remember this may be annoying to those of us that listen to every published article/intervie...

Re: App St Golf Gear

Golf....but no soccer..... sad world. Probably 10 golfers on the squad, maybe 2-3 scholarships total. Only travel 6, if I recall. Fewer coaches. Much lower cost of operations than a full soccer team. I don’t like that we cut soccer either, but it’s relatively easy to make an economic argument for g...

I had to read the word “crootin” 4 or 5 times to figure out what the hell it meant. Guess I’m getting old.

I’ve met Roy once or twice, he seemed like a decent guy (other than all that UNC stuff). His daughter taught my daughter dance for a few years, he routinely came to recitals.

Loyalty…like anyone on this board wouldn’t take a new job for double their salary. Some of y’all make me laugh I left company A for company B. 3 months later, company C offered me a 20% raise so I went there. 9 months later, company A offered me a 25% raise so I went back (and they’ve taken good car...

Re: 2025 Schedule

I can’t believe Doug scheduled Ark State and So Miss. What an idiot!!! Are you positive that he alone scheduled these games without imput from the conference? It was a little shot at comments from the 2024 season that were critical of Doug for scheduling, especially conference games (which we know ...

Half the team is like a big fish story, gets bigger every time someone tells it.
We played iron man football in 1989. Only had 12 players. The rest went to South Carolina.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

If I’m DL I’d let a couple of false statements leak out to find the mole. Perhaps he already did. Appreciate DOTE outing them. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time our Athletic Department (both the current and previous regimes) have planted false info to see where a leak was, I doubt it’s the la...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

He had him come in the office - through Nolan - finally met with Lance in person this week and told him he wouldn't;t be retained. It happens - Lance will be fine, the dragging people along will have repercussions in time though. Some concerns I am hearing and know: 1- Kaden Robinson met one on one...

Re: Jimmy Carter Passes

My wife was reading about his funeral arrangements and came across a quote about how his body will get back to Georgia after laying in state. He basically told a staffer several years ago that “there’s no way his cold dead body will take its final trip by plane”. I found that quite amusing.

Re: Dowell's assistants

Bojangles or bust. However, there are good Bojangles and bad Bojangles. You get a bad Bojangles and it can ruin your experience and cause you to incorrectly think that there is other better chicken options. One caveat, I don’t do bones like some of you. I’m a Cajun Filet Biscuit with seasoned fries...
