Re: Favorite App Football (non-game) Memory

An addendum - This happened less than a month ago - I was in the local Food Lion and this guy walked past me and saw the APP t-shirt I had on - he turned and came back toward me - (we were observing social distancing and both wearing masks) He said, "I see you are an Appalachian fan" - Yes, - "I rem...

Re: Favorite App Football (non-game) Memory

I would say after the Michigan win - which all seems unrealistic to me sometimes - we were driving back to Columbus (where my cousin lives) to spend the night - Of course, I had my APP flags flying and everybody was honking and waving at us - we stopped to get something to eat and I still had my APP...

Re: Schedule

I wanted to ask a question about the schedule but seeing the OT turn this thread has taken, if I may, I would like to make a comment. I have difficulty with grammar and spelling even though I have two undergrad and one grad degree. Spell check helps but there is no "diction" check and that sometime...

Re: COVID cluster connected to Football team

This virus is little to no threat to guys our players age. I wish people would stop using this as justification to play football. We don't know for sure how this virus affects young people, but what's true is that the number of cases in young people are growing. You are right. So what’s the solutio...

Re: COVID cluster connected to Football team

Vaccine or no vaccine, what if this is just the way it's going to be , we live with COVID from now on , does college football or even college athletics as a whole survive? I think your premise is absolutely correct on this - I think we will all be living with Covid for years to come - I hope I am wr...

Re: Everts no confidence is approved

There is a strong anti-athletics sentiment among the faculty.DG is on their list , and she hired him , an SEC guy-then pushed major investments in the program.I talk to a limited number of faculty and staff who report that many can not deal with "our move up" and wish to go back , way back. Hasn't ...

Re: Everts no confidence is approved

People who have never run a business, a government agency or likely anything else ... her support for athletics especially football , is a sore spot for many up there. Clarification - are you saying the academics don't like that she supports football or that others don't like that she doesn't suppo...

Well there certainly isn't as much competition for watching - I bet the NFL will not do Thu games and baseball will be over and basketball - who knows - we are down 2 G5 leagues and 2 P5 leagues

I generally don't like mid-week games, however with limited viewing options a mid-week game might possibly draw a much larger viewing audience

Re: Schedule

I don’t necessarily think that it is fear. We are not an easy win this year for anyone. Seniors and experience everywhere. We aren’t going to allow for depth to get snaps because of the score. That is how the P5 coaches are going to look at it. I agree. I hear the "fear" word thrown around a lot by...

I will bet someone a meal at Woodlands that the Big 12 will be next.
I'm not sure about the Big 12 - they really feel they are the black sheep of the P5 - they may see this as their chance to gain some standing ---

I do hope the remaining conferences each make their own decisions and don't bow down because the "elite" conference says no --- the PAC 12 is basically irrelevant to the ACC, SEC, SBC
