Jimmy Kilgo

Many of us in the Charlotte area remember Kilgo and Kilgo's Kanteen. I believe his brother was John who was a Tar Heel dude and also announced UNC-C and Davidson games. I remember once when, John was announcing either a Niner or Wildcat hoops game on 610 that he was remarking about the Apps having a...

Re: Stimulus Funding (CARES Act) for Colleges

Well for once there is not too much disparity in "funding" between us and ECU, Chapel Hell, and State. I like how you mixed up the usual jab at our sister universities by not going with Easy U, and instead tossed it over to Chapel Hell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV_PzRb1pLk Yep. Normally I'm ...

Resident Minister Mountaineer

I forgot the screen name of our App Yosef Cabin's minister, but wonder if you have a special prayer for Apps and COVID-!9 that you would like to share.

Re: Michigan game rewatch

I'll say one last thing..we were the better team (especially without them having Hart) that day and most of the rest of the season. We won fair and square. Nothing fluke about it..at least no more than what kept THEM in the game. They were fortunate we didn't beat them by a greater margin.

Re: Michigan game rewatch

It took a homer PI call to set up that field goal attempt! I think Manningham made the catch, and they declined the PI. Could pretty easily argue that it was Manningham who pushed off on that call, too. I do love that we're debating a game that happened 13 years ago. Corona times is good times for ...

Re: Michigan game rewatch

One intangible was that Hart stayed on the stationary bike much, if not, most of the game. He was a first class stud. I'm sure if Michigan had it to do over, he would have been in the game most of the time instead of saving him.

Re: Michigan game rewatch

Even better, What team won the first game televised on the Big 10 network? That was my bonus layup question. And of course the answer is App State vs. Michigan ....with App winning. :D Of course, I didn't have the Big 10 network on my cable at the time so I had called a local sports bar in Rock Hil...

Re: Michigan game rewatch

I completely agree with that talent and depth assessment. We had to use key starters on special teams. Brian Quick was on the line for the FG (thankfully). We had a few guys catching passes who would not even see the field now. Obviously a few guys were FBS quality but for the most part not even cl...

Re: Michigan game rewatch

Didn't we only play something like as little as 27 players that day? If that is true, our training must have been top notch.
