Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks
Where are people getting this JMU at-large bid talk from? I've not seen it on any major sports news bracketolgy or predictions. Not even a mention of a last four out. Sports Illustrated  [/https://www.si.com/college/2024/03/08/mens-bracketology-everything-to-watch-this-weekend-for-teams-on-the...

Re: Conference Tourney
JMU doing just about anything they want. They are the best looking team in the league. Not saying they’re the best team but they are the smoothest.

Every single player in this group is special to me because they’ve all contributed huge moments to this magical season but I agree with someone else. Tate killed us late. Numerous turnovers and simply could not stay on Moore. Can’t really fault him for that, Moore was the best player on the floor a...

We escaped the Pensacola quarterfinal curse.
No High Point fan but they fell in their quarters today by 1 in OT on the home court to Longwood.

Watched some of the Dayton v VCU game. What I noticed about that game and several mid majors in general is the packed arena and environment in general. They have that same atmosphere we had for the Auburn and JMU games all the time. It's a bit of a downer watching many of our games home and road wi...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
This game needs to be placed in the same lock box as the "It never happened" football game of a few years ago. Move forward and get better. The coaching staff needs a season or two working with the pitchers in the new lab. Sun Belt is a really strong baseball conference. There is a football game th...

I think they thought they were a lock after beating Duke and then proceed to lay a couple of eggs.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 11:41 amCongrats to Wake for locking up an NIT bid last night!

Re: 1-AA 2.0
The idea that the SEC and the Big Ten get auto byes is absurd beyond setting aside a certain number of guaranteed spots for them. They likely would get those spots anyway but saying they get byes is an insult to say a Clemson or Florida State. The ACC is a very weak conference which is why both Cle...

Re: MBB vs SoAla/GaSo winner, Satuday, March 9, 12:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt Qt
There's a reason the regular season winner in many one bid conferences fails to win their conference tournament. The pressure is immense given what the regular season champ has accomplished. Knowing they can't afford a slip up puts the pressure squarely on the top seed. Perhaps this won't affect our...

Re: Sun Belt Announces 2023-24 Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards & All-Conference Teams
So, maybe a stupid question here, but does the fact that we have 9 guys good enough to be getting significant playing time bring down the individual stats of our guys? Which creates perhaps an unfair comparison to other teams that might have to rely on a few star players? Of course, we had four pla...

Re: Sun Belt Announces 2023-24 Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards & All-Conference Teams
This is not uncommon. This allows to spread awards around. For football, Vidal, troy RB, was offensive player of the year..but ..McCloud, JMU QB, was player of the year. That seems strange to me ..it is what it is.. But, they both made 1st team all conference. And yes it is a bit odd the POY is not...

Re: Sun Belt Announces 2023-24 Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards & All-Conference Teams
Spillers first team but not newcomer of the year? Who was any better? I refuse to type the name of the player and the school he plays for. Abson DPOY but not even third team? Got some things to set right in Pensacola. Take the stairs!!! That one makes no sense. Spillers is first team but Bickerstaf...

Re: Sun Belt Announces 2023-24 Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards & All-Conference Teams
I’m kinda shocked Justin got the appropriate recognition for DPOY, but then is completely left off the teams’ list. I get his production was a little lower these past few weeks with certain matchups and CJ plying so well, but I feel likes he deserved to be one of the 15 best players named. Interest...

History is nice but no bearing…. we know the make up of this team…. easily the best constructed team…. deepest, higher performing on the road or at home… more size, not dependent on one or two scorers, plays very strong D without fouling…… and it’s pretty clear, that it will be us or JMU…..there is...

Re: MBB vs Arkansas stAte, Friday, March 1, 2024, 6:30 p.m., ESPN+, Holmes Sweet Holmes, finale, #1 Defense v #1 Offense
This will be the 9th Sun Belt tournament we will have participated in since joining (the 2020 tourney was not played). In the previous 8 tournaments prior to this year's, the regular season champ has won three conference tournament titles and failed to win both 5 times. Ironically, App has been the...
