Re: Are we a top 25 team?

Still #22 in Coaches Poll. OK State jumped us.

Re: Troy question

Its playoff time here in VA and plenty of HS teams are playing Saturday games. At this point of the season I don't think a Friday game is as much of an issue.

Re: Are we a top 25 team?

It think it depends on whose top 25 you are referencing. If we remain in the CFP rankings, I would suspect it would be #25. I fully expect VT to jump in and pass us. The way they have played lately, I would have little argument with that. There are just too many variables for the Cotton Bowl to work...

Re: If no NY6 then where?

Just because the Belt has more teams eligible than contracted bowls, doesn't mean all go to bowl games.

An end to a somewhat disappointing season with a 3-1 loss to Arlington.

Re: TX St discussion

Two weeks in a row a school dropped in CFP rankings (SMU, Cincy) after having close games. App needs a convincing win. I would hate to see them playing starters and throwing deep balls up 28+, but still would like to see them beat the spread and limit TX St scoring. Actually, SMU re-entered the ran...

Re: If no NY6 then where?

As I understand it, the Sunbelt has five bowl tie-ins and, currently, five bowl eligible teams. If Troy beats Lousiana this weekend there would be six eligible teams. That might open things up a bit for us. What really matters is if there are enough FBS teams that reach 6 wins to match the bowls av...

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN

Not surprised SMU is now in at 25. The AAC Commissioner did a great deal of whining last week, even trying to throw us under the bus for our home loss vs Stink, as opposed to SMU's loss on the road vs OSU. However, I don't think he was dissing us as much as he was advocating for SMU. I just hate we...

Re: If no NY6 then where?

I don't think the SBC would allow its champion to go anywhere other than NO unless they qualify for the NY6.

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN

We jumped SMU who is above us in the other polls. I consider that a success. We still need a few more years of success to get greater nation wide recognition. If memphis or smu or cincy had beat UNC and USC they would be ranked higher than we currently are. I'm just enjoying the exposure we are get...

Not 100% as Liberty moved up with an NCAA waiver. http://www.liberty.edu/news/index.cfm?PID=18495&MID=222571 While is is not an NCAA hard/fast rule (hence the ability to get a waiver), I'd have to think that in N...

Re: G’bo

Good defense is often about effort. That's a positive sign that our guys are putting in the effort to be a good defensive team. Offensive is often more about talent. That's a concern.

Re: Transition

The name recognition of Wofford, Furman, and Elon, come on Hap that's a false narrative. Fans weren't coming to see those teams, they were coming to see App play. Our fans may have traveled more to away games, but that was the core 2-3k. Another perk is the much improved schedule. Home games vs. Mi...

Who are the P5 teams the App has hosted? Have you had many ranked teams come to play with ya'll?

Re: Transition

We struggled in the early phase of the transition before we were bowl eligible. We lost to a number of FCS teams that we would not ever expect to lose to at any point. I also remember our first Sun Belt game against South Alabama. They spanked us and remember thinking maybe we bit off more than we c...
