Re: Sunbelt Scheduling Changes

The F_U's will have to go independent willingly. Despite being out there on an island I just don't see any scenario where they walk away from conference affiliation. So many lawsuits would be filed.

Re: Sunbelt Scheduling Changes

"Bob Marlin says there is a proposal that could pit the Cajuns against rival ULM four times this season in an effort to limit cross-country trips" -- interesting. Time to put in calls to ECU, Charlotte, and Marshall first...foster the scheduling relationships we already have. WKU and Middle Tenness...

Re: Charlotte Radio Director Succumbs to COVID-19

This is my company, Entercom radio. We don’t know how he got it or how long he was still going to work at his station and could have spread it. I’m shocked that our CEO hasn’t released anything internally or doubled down on efforts to get everyone out of our buildings who doesn’t absolutely have to ...

I'd say we start with Georgia, Ga Tech, Ga Southern...pretty much anything in the peach state should be game. We can get a haircut and a tattoo while visiting.
Georgia Southern is already on the schedule Mike. *sigh*

Re: I hope this has legs. Expanded playoffs

I'd like to see a move to 8 teams in the playoffs. Our in the P5 conference champs, the top G5, and 2 at large bids. Best of all worlds. Places a premium on P5s winning their conference, allows 1 potential Cinderella story anually, and 2 more to account for teams that lose their conference title in...

That’s an emotional response, not a fiscal one. Is a lesson in discipline worth bankrupting your entire athletic department?

Re: Five FBS conferences, including AAC and C-USA, ask NCAA to relax Division I requirements

It’s time for a comprehensive league plan “we’re all dropping to 6 sports. 3 men 3 women.” With an expressed plan on when to start bringing them back online one by one. It sucks. Some schools would have to wait a while to get sports back that they were previously good at. But the focus needs to be o...

Re: Conference Descrambler

At some point I think you will see a need to cut athletic expenses, (probably happening right now). Conference realignment makes sense with the idea of reducing miles, travel costs, and trying to increase attendance from visiting teams fans will be in the forefront. It has got to happen sooner or l...

Re: Is it time to reboot?

It’ll force chancellors, presidents, and ADs to the table, but will it force change. People fear change especially when you’ve got money involved. How do you navigate the legal waters of breaking up conferences and blowing up existing commitments. How do you get 26 schools (just in the SBC and CUSA)...

Re: NEZ work today

Seems like really bad timing to raise minimums. Folks are struggling for basic daily needs and the more details that come out suggest the longer it will take to recover as a nation. Roughly 10 million lost their jobs in the past couple of weeks and more to come. There is no way attendance to sporti...

Re: Herbstreit comments re: season cancellation

Herbstreit is a complete tool. lol. Can’t argue with that. He’s a tv personality. Personalities are always going to make enemies. It’s funny bc in his interview all he did was predict what the powers that be might do from the perspective of a guy who’s at the top of the game. He’s not in the board ...

Re: Herbstreit comments re: season cancellation

SEC commissioner and ADs have already openly discussed the threat to the 2020 season. Chip Kelly stated he believes July 1 is the *absolute* last date CFB operations MUST begin to have a season start on time. Go on thinking Kirk is an idiot bc he likened us to a pastry 13 years ago. Keep acting like...

Re: NEZ work today

If that *totally* Mickey Mouse patio rendering came from the NEZ architects or from Learfield/IMG , they should be summarily fired for cause and posthaste. That's embarrassing! Completely unworthy of bearing the "Appalachian" mark! Why would a broadcast rights company be making renderings on behalf...

Re: What is Major College Football's Moral Obligation...

Fans can have their egos and their unique "I like school A but I don't want to be associated with school B". But thankfully these decisions aren't up to emotional fans, they're up to administrators who *should* think logically.

Re: What is Major College Football's Moral Obligation...

I'm sure there are at least 25 FBS programs who are seriously considering temporarily shelving or completely moth-balling their programs because of this. If that happens WTH are the legal/organizational ramifications? If you drop football for 2 years, what happens when you're ready to come back? Aut...

Yosef84,

I hadn't thought of that. How many low-budget programs might consider the FCS route. We'll see who REALLY wants to invest in FBS football pretty quickly.

...if revenue lost due to coronavirus is so great some schools and programs can't afford to keep going? Re: 2020 Baseball Mega Thread

Think about the liability of any stadium, school, event, etc staying open in light of the events. If Tom gets sick at X event we live in a world where he can say "I know I bought the ticket. I know I got in the car. I know I drove there. I know I am fully responsible for making the choice to come he...

Free throws are going to be HUGE in this game. Can't miss as many as we did vs Coastal.
