Re: Billy Napier

Joe Judge, a Miss State alumni, interviewed with the NY Giants and I'm told by a coaching connection that he killed the interview. They may pursue him now. Both places are bad situations but Judge is a ST coach so a HC job is a big pay jump. MSU has the awful AD while NYG's GM Dave Gettleman is a bi...

Re: Billy Napier

Tweet from Bruce Feldman that furthers proves my point about the MSU job right now. SOURCE: Former Auburn HC Gene Chizik interviewed with Miss. State for its head coaching vacancy on Saturday. The next morning Chizik removed himself as a candidate... Wouldn't be surprised if Chizik returns to coachi...

Re: Roof out

I would say that the guys whose livelihoods depend on the programs success care more than you. I know they care but they care because they are being paid by us and they want to move up the ranks and make more money. Coaches who aren't alumni of a program aren't going to be 100% loyal to the program...

Re: This Is Ours!

13-1 means 12 out of 13 games won. Mathematically that's 92.3%. Rounded that's 92% and on a college honors weighting scale it's a 4.7 out of a possible 5.0. Using the 10 point scale anything 90 and above is an "A". I prefer to take that as it is and accept that 13-1 is better than any school in the...

Re: Predicting next season's CFB Playoff, New Year's Six

I think Boise State or Memphis is probably the highest rated preseason with us 2nd or 3rd. We will have to start 3-0 but if we do we could pass them. We will have to beat Wake Forest by a good margin now though. They are losing a good bit of players and should not be a top 20 team in preseason but o...

I just find it amusing on your choice of phrase and your presumption that you are in a position to make demands based of your expectations. Sure, I guess you can make your voice heard. Seems like a bunch of keyboard warrior speak. It’s not my job to evaluate. I can observe, I can form an opinion, a...

Re: Billy Napier

There’s a direct correlation between Napier’s extension that was just announced and this job opening. Smart move by UL to cover their butts. But, Napier gone! https://247sports.com/Article/Louisiana-Ragin-Cajuns-Football-coach-Billy-Napier-reportedly-turns-down-Mississippi-State-job-141580892/ Don’...

Re: Louisville

Drink and Satt were both excellent coaches. Personally, I give the edge to Satterfield as a head coach. Drink was probably the better OC, but him doing dual duty tempered the benefit we got from that. I think Drink actually tended to go conservative EARLIER than Satterfield did and with a smaller l...

Re: Would you be happy with 8-4, if?

Based on the reaction a good number of people have had on this board to Satterfield’s slow start as HC, hiring of Ted Roof (aka giving up too many points in early games this past season), and the meltdown after back to back losses to The Stink; I would predict we can’t handle loosing more than a ga...

Re: Would you be happy with 8-4, if?

Might hit an unlucky streak and get another Laney. Who knows? They are out there. But it might be worth a try,. I'd rather get our scholarships fully funded first. Then jump. Right now, except for the possible turnaround in Men's basket ball, we suck in most non football sports. Regardless, I'm an ...

Re: Roof out

Why do you keep arguing a point that isn’t even relevant at this time? I agree we have to give it time. I am not going to pull against anyone. If Shawn brings them in I'll trust it and obviously believe DG and the rest of us have to give it a little time. We are a program who is not in a rebuild. W...

Re: Would you be happy with 8-4, if?

We would have more money and thus recruit a larger area, have more money for coaches, etc in the AAC so I don't think we struggle if moving up. We would see more good players consider us. It is the same as now. Many thought we would go to the SBC and struggle but if you have an AD with vision and y...

Re: Roof out

At least we knew Ted Roof was the DC before some called for him to be fired. Jones is an “App guy” and we don’t even know he’s going to be the DC and folks are all ready calling for him to be demoted. It’s also odd that for all hatred of Ted Roof early in the season I sure don’t see a lot of folks ...

Re: Roof out

So how is everyone gonna feel when the DC is inevitably App Guy Dale Jones? Similar to the Ted Roof hire. But maybe more. Roof’s best days may have been behind him, but he had been a successful DC at some point. Jones only stint at DC wasn’t really successful. Look I love Shawn Clark and I loved Jo...
